Did I see a snake sneaking behind the desk? min13:15 As for the travel workshops, landscape photographers do it all the time. I see it more of the opportunity to travel to a location or track and experience a day track or several days tracks with a host that knows the hobby. Great video and very useful masterclass. Greetings from UK
hey man these are suppose to be secrets for the fast guys... nah I'm just kidding, I would not be near as fast as I am without all of your amazing videos. thanks for having such a great perspective for all off us to share. would love to race with ya some time if your ever up I the northwest. In Montana here just have a backyard track but we try and keep up on it and its so much fun. just need the snow to melt already.
This is a great idea. Taking peoples videos and analysing them, providing feed back and identifying things that could help is a great way of coaching people as well as show people how and what to look for in their own driving
So Chargers RC is my home track and I'm one of the consistent A Main 2wd and 4wd stock drivers. The 1st double after the loop that goes into the bowl right handed, best thing to do there is power to the jump then let off as you get to it and whole jump comes together smoothly with the right handed. With the triple I'm one to do the triple all race in both classes but 2wd stock you need quite a run up to make it so between double single and triple it comes down to how the cars set up and your ability to piece it all together 🤙And of course this video is the only race meet I didn't do due to racing R2 of 1/8 state championships the day before 😭 When you get a chance Ryan come down to Australia 🤘 Chargers RC is located in Carole Park, Brisbane and it's open 24/7 and is free to use for 1/10 cars as it's owned by the council. Cheers Jordan 😉
@@RyanHarrisRC Man it's Buttery when you get all the sectors together 🤘 I think as a beginner it was the most rewarding track to run at as you could see your improvement happen lap after lap 😁 When covid is done come down man and we'd be more than happy to show you around 😉
Love the idea, and love the analytical aspect of the video. Definitely helped me recognize a number of mistakes I need to correct. Thank you for being so awesome to us beginners.
This dude is not a beginner driver by any stretch of the imagination. I am a beginner driver and that guy would absolutely SCHOOL me. Thanks for the vid!
When I started RC I had one experienced buddy that helped me out, on track and in the pit. To this day (even after I have done in RC) I'm still very very grateful. So yes. Thank you for being a person like you are, helpful.
For me this has been possibly your most interesting video to date. Most I have on whilst wrenching or doing house chores but for this I was glued to the screen trying to take in everything. Really informative!
Even after 20 years of off and on rc racing (while begging and hoping for these sort of clinic style training videos), you and Ray Munday(spell?) are FINALLY doing it!!! Ray's videos have been very helpful and especially heavy on the physics of racing, which is great and essential, but this style of analyzing driver technique is priceless. My wife and I actually work at my local track (World Of RC/Thunder Ally, in Lucama N.C.😉), and I can't wait practice these driveline tips tomorrow. I've just completed my Tekno EB48 2.0 build, and she's about to get dirty! Thanks for being such a huge asset to rc racing, Ryan, you're the best!
Thanks for the review Ryan! And the great comments on our track! The surface we have has been a revalation to our racing, the traction and durability is amazing! #sicsurface
Your idea to have a travelling workshop is great 👍 , would be like coaching for RC . Your videos are amazing and really informative and it would be even better for people to be able to get that information face to face . Your passion for the hobby is contagious , great work Ryan , please keep it going . If I lived in the states I’d definitely attend one of your workshops .
Hey no bs Ryan I have been watching your channel for a little while now and I gotta tell you after 30yrs you have single handily re sparked my interest in R/C. I have since started with mini t’s and progressed up to full blown short course kit truck. Keep up the great work I really enjoy your channel thanks. 🤙🏽
As a 6 foot guy this new information has made my life a lot harder since I can no longer fit through European door frames. This is especially inconvenient since I am a European.
Awesome Ryan, Chargers my home track and club! I am sure a lot of the members will get great value (and faster lap times) from your video! Thanks mate!
hey ryan Im racer down in Socal. i run 1/8th scale nitro truck buggy and ebuggy. i just wanted to say thank you for all the set up tips and racing line choice and just in general great info. i have been using all of your cleaning and set up stuff and incorporating it into my program and i definitely have improved my racing line and vehicle maintenance and setup. thank you.
Thanks for the information! My son and I watch your videos all the time. We are just starting to race our RC’s. We went to help at our local racetrack last week and hoping to get a race under us by this Sunday. You have been such a fantastic source of information and I would be remiss if I did not thank you for it. We look forward to seeing more videos.
Just wanted to stop and Thank you! There has been so much that I have learned thrue your videos. When ever I will actually get a race lvl RC, I will for sure return to highlight of these gems.
Consistency & holding your line is key 🔑 & making sure that every lap times are the close as possible to the same. I’m an oval race on road and dabbled in dirt a. In my oval Days with a pan car my lap times example were 4.0 4.0 3.9 4.0 4.1 4.0 etc etc. average 38 to 40 mph
I will help support this mission. I am older, retired and recently got into RC racing at the 1/8th scale level. I have raced cars and motorcycles most of my life. With that in mind, I need to learn fast and not waste a lot of time (gaining experience). I have suggested to a couple of pro/UT guys that a racing/driving school ( like I taught /attended with full scale ) seems to be missing in this motorsports arena. I am in Texas so seeing you may be difficult but I love your filming style, professionalism, talent and passion. I will be signing up to help and hopefully discuss how I can help further in the future. Thanks, cliff
I think, one of the things we are seeing is; the drivers are all attempting to hit the jumps straight on. This makes sense when; going the straight line through the chicane results in hitting the table eschew. Since the landing is a prevailing left, we'd flick our wheels to the right, in the air, to make sure the vehicle doesn't flip going into the left hand corner. These guys are really good straight forward drivers. And keeping the chassis level while jumping angles is a very challenging skill. I can understand this is all going.
They technique the pros have mastered on landing jumps is a lot like what you see BMX racer do when they pump their body on the landing to get the bike to spring forward....only RC racers aren't in the car to manipulate it and have to get it done with the transmitter, but they are amazing and make it work.
Rc needs pushing, it's a dying sport, hobby, call it what you will. Rc cars fascinated me and as a result I became an engineer. Ryan thank you along with all the other rc celebs! Let's keep this hobby alive!!!
Hey Ryan great video and think the direction you are taking on this type of video is great. Our local guys are always asking how we go that much faster with the same setup and cars. This points out all the areas to improve on to get to the next level for the newer guys.

Looks like there is a mini bowl and definitely a back berm after that first double. My guess is it's one of those track tricks to get you to overshoot to the berm thinking it will get you though the corner faster but as we see in the video it's not. As for the triple, you can see the blue groove is well away from the apex before it, likely from everyone giving themselves the distance needed to clear the triple. The inside line is likely so loose you might not even make the double or just spin out. Watching the other cars in the race, lots of people overshot the first double and nobody took the corner before the triple tight. This looks like a fun track.
The track has a Sic Surface® top layer. It's like driving on sandpaper so grip is not really an issue but wind down the front straight can be. Before the recent track layout change the Back straight went the full-length(a straight shot) berm to berm.
Cool philosophy behind the Patreon! Looks like a nice track. My local track is narrow, odd angle and camber jumps, and I believe intentionally setup for you to hit things that will break you car so they make more money on parts at the shop. ;) That, or my driving sucks.
I noticed he was landing nose up quite a bit especially on front straight. In "stock" racing adding a little drag brake may help get correct attitude in air. Some drivers get into a bad habit of staying on throttle in the air especially on a wide open section, this has helped a few people I know.
love the traveling workshop idea, if your ever in Washington state hmu. Just starting out in racing and I think something like that would be very helpful.

Hello Ryan, Nice video and information. I think the clinic would be awesome. BTW, you starting to have the good dirt bike products also. I wonder what you think about using that SC1 for sauce! LOL
Gotta question for you on the 22x4. What gearing and side plates you run & would a pr of proline suburbs do any good on any of your local tracks? I have a pr that I'd be willing to ship to you as they won't work for any of my local tracks. They are discontinued & green dots.
Love that tip about driving the throttle on the landing jumps - definitely a actionable piece to practice. Do you recommend a similar approach with SCT clas or is that a different beast?
