Both PTX and Committed's versions are awesome for their own reasons. Committed's close harmonies ans smooth sound are just surperb. PTX's rich and full sound never ceases to amaze me. I love both group and they both do an awesome job at the cover.
I really like their version of this song. Their harmonies and sound are smooth and rich. Their voices blend well together. They vibe, and bring an element of soulfness to all their performances, including this one, and it works for them. It sets them apart. I also like the different camera angles. They stole my heart when they were on the Sing Off, and here it is, almost 2 years later, and I'm still held captive by their talent and sound. Good job Committed, you guys are an amazing talent!
Love you guys! What a Godly inspiration you are to the young men of this generation! (P.S. I'm still jamming to the version of "Apologize" you all did on Sing Off!)
PTX and Committed are just different styles. I find that Commited's voices (in this cover at least) aren't as "pop star lead singer" as PTX's, but they have a laid back sort of groove that is really cool. From what I've seen, Committed REALLY excels at extremely tight, complex harmonies where all the members are singing the same chord, like at 3:25 - and in that respect they are WAY more harmonically adventurous than PTX. However, when Committed has one singer doing bassline and one beatboxing it takes some of the strength away from the group, because they can't achieve that incredible blend anymore. PTX's sound, on the other hand, is very much based on their bass and beatboxer, who really specialize in those talents. I think it's one of the main reasons PTX does so well at pop music.
while an excellent arrangement, the top harmony (the doorbell) should have been quieter. It became a distraction throughout the song. but thats like sayin that this ice cream sunday should have had TWO cherries on top instead of one. still an excellent performance.
Are you a Pentatonix member? LOL! Don't be hurt it's just a matter of opinion and preference..I just prefer Committed...Pentatonix is good in their own way too.
Yeah, but their harmonies are nowhere near as complex. Plus, they had to employ a beat boxer (who is one of their best members) and a bass (who is the other awesome member). Committed is just as dynamic, but they're just different. Pentatonix is just more upbeat.
commited is better than Pentatonix, only hear the melody, even the low pentatonix not work well without a microphone, Pentatonix is good, but not to the level of committed, that is indisputable.

idk if anyone noticed...but Robbie went through like 3 different parts...seamlessly. They have sooo much talent.

At first I thought it was too slow... then it was over and I missed the groove. Sometimes its good to be wrong.

Yea but Pentatonix has more dynamics
XD
I disagree. Committed's is better for me...no mics needed...smooth and effortless! :) like "buttah." ;)
I think it's good, but I still like Pentatonix's cover better
