My pleasure, these dealer catalog are really cool and have great displays!. Will so my best to show as many of the actual displays in future episodes. Enjoy! Brian
Lionel did a great job at showcasing their trains for their 50th anniversary. Displays such as these always show a better idea about what items are available. Wish Lionel had marketed O72 track in greater light. Maybe have included O72 in a top O Gauge set. Still love that you make videos for all these dealer and promotional items.
Thanks, glad you like the videos, love making them. 1950 was a special year for Lionel and they went all out. Fantastic trains and displays. More on the way in 2025! Brian
Thanks for sharing these dealer display catalogs. A great look into the past to see what Lionel was offering to dealers to promote the sale of their items. I often think if I was earning the kind of money today, what I could have bought then. I still have some of the receipts from when my dad bought things in the 1950's. In 1950 he paid $37.50 for a set of 2344 NYC F3's.
Thanks, These are great pieces of Lionel history with some cool stuff in them. Will have all the years done eventually and will also eventually show every display up close and personal. Keep tuned in! Brian
Yeah for sure, some of the years are tougher to find than others and most would have been discarded long ago. Dealers had some great stuff to choose from over the years to help them sell trains. Thanks, Brian
For, what I am assuming, is lightweight paper the catalog has survived well over the 74 years of existence. Can you imagine how many were thrown away at the end of the year? I worked at a warehouse and we would throw away promotional material all the time. I can’t imagine the dealers keeping the paperwork either.
So true, the amount of material that we would love to have now that was thrown away is staggering to think about. That is why I like to share these with you and stress the need to preserve and enjoy the ones left. Thanks, Brian
Another great historical video brian..I was reading the text about the LTC lighted lock on. Did you notice it says the red light stays on with power to the track?? I have several of these and the lamp lense is always green, as it should be! Do you think this was a typo??
Another great presentation! I definitely found this to be interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing this piece of 1950 history.

Interesting. It was either a typo, or the prototype was a red light! Brian
