if you would have used the foam you would not have needed to do all that repair and sanding after, the profile will always pull the plaster off like on your next videos
Nice job, I’m trying to do something similar. Actually we’ve got a wiggly wall too, is there any profile product out there that you could put on the curve of the wall (horizontal)? Thanks
Hi there, thanks very much. Yes there certainly are flexible profile products out there, not sure about plaster in... I'll see if I can find a link to a product
Nice job. Doing something similar at the moment. Do you reckon sacrificing a diffuser was the way to go still? Humming and harring about masking it up or doing what you did!
To be honest, we had problems with the plaster finish and I spent a lot of time sanding after the skim was made too think and mounded over the diffuser.. I've seen a spongey sausage pressed into the profile to protect against the plaster...
@@andystaineselectrical4847 ballache :( might mask it up and see if I can get away with it! give the plasterer a stern talking to first! thanks for the advice!
@@andystaineselectrical4847 Hi. I'm a plasterer and I'm looking at doing something like this at home. I didn't think leaving diffuser on would work as plasterer needs to run his trowel tight along the casing edges to get tight finish. Shame you had plastering issues as you had done a great job fitting. I was thinking of taping inside casing, hopefully that will work. Have you done any jobs like this one since. If so how did plastering go and what method was used.
Just seen your other videos having to sand it all down 😄 This is what happens when one trade doesn't know anything about the next trade sadly. It would of been impossible to plaster up to that plastic, and you probably told the customer to tell the plasterer not to remove it. So they screwed you over too

@@travoltasbiplane1551 I'm just adding some more videos showing the issues that arose and the sanding horror that ensued!
@@andystaineselectrical4847 should have left it for the decorator ! I'll look forward to it. 👍

Can tell you for nothing the plasterer will be taking out the plastic diffuser prior to plastering.
You made their job impossible
