Thanks a bunch. Best explanation for boards.
Whilst I appreciate the effort in explaining the basics, the problem is this doesn't give enough information for someone to make an informed decision on what board they need. For example what's going to be good for jumping/freeride? - I'm assuming a strong rail to hold the power down and blast up wind, but how does the rocker, width and length effect that. What if I'm getting spray hitting me in the face a lot from chop, how does the rocker and board size effect that?

very helpful cheers! does the rail thickness make a difference for edging? ive seen some boards with thick rails in the middle like fone trax and some boards thicker in the middle and thin around the rails and tips like lieuwe shotgun

Well I've found my issue finally. To anyone learning to do this alone like me because you live in the middle of nowhere where nobody kiteboards. There's alot of talk about wether you're a "light rider" or "heavy rider" throw that all out the window and listen to the numbers! In everything else in life I've always been a "light guy" I'm 175 lbs. Apparently that's a "heavy rider" in kiteboarding! I bought a 134 board and I've been teaching myself since spring, been out probably ten times and I could always downloop the kite (12 m) and get pulled up out of the water but can't stay up on top of the water because I felt I would just lose power and sink! Ive been getting very frustrated. So I just ordered a 146 cm board so I'm thinking I will probably get up and go as long as I want now because I've done so many water starts it aint funny. Just simply can't stay up because I have a tiny board that I thought was for a "light rider" like I "thought" I was!🤬

Weird to have the same board (core fusion) with that different rocker and outline ... Should be named differently :/
Core adds "Lightwind" or LW for short of the naming of the larger sizes. They retain the same shape, but scaled larger up to size 144, with 147 and 152 designated as "Lightwind"

I am a beginner looking at the Core Choice 5 board and Nexus 3 kite. Any issues you see? I want to buy my gear once and not have to replace it when I get more advanced. Thanks again.
If you want the core brand for your set up - choice + nexus will be the ultimate combo if you want to do everything, freestyle, big air, wave. But if you want to focus on big air I would suggest picking XR for kite.
