After enduring that trip from Inverness to Milan, crawling to the hotel, you woke up the next morning and thought "You know what, I'm gonna hop on Flixbus again for a lovely 22 hours. Good day for it"? You are a glutton for punishment Scott 😀
A we thought.Scott as someone who now needs some assistance through an airport these days, maybe a feature on how it works!! Just thought. We always enjoy your videos. Jimmy and David 🍻👍🥂

I actually found myself getting irritated by the problems you encountered! Need to carry a taser for any hands or feet that encroach on your space (and maybe for the flixbus driver who gets angry at anyone filming in the same postcode!) Another mammoth journey, nothing to the last one of course, but I STILL couldn't do the 22 hours! Well done!
Thanks so much Scott for filming Milan-Palermo by bus and ferry. So many rail vloggers have covered the train and ferry journey but this way is so different.
I was in Palermo last year for a couple of days and it is a gorgeous city with a rustic nature. It may seem rough but the character of the city where it presents itself as "this is how it is," made me fall in love with the city. Also, the fact that it does not do this faux thing of trying to appeal to tourists with people who allow you to speak Italian (I didn't come across a lot of people who could speak English), made it one of the most enjoyable places I had been to in Italy. You also might enjoy the train that apparently goes from Milan/Rome to Palermo. Since there is no bridge over the strait of Messina, the train carriage detaches and is loaded onto a ferry where it then connects to the tracks on the other side and heads onto Palermo. It takes around 12 hours I think. Nice video!
Back in the 1970’s I did a bus trip from London to Brindisi, run by Halcyon. Took us to the outskirts of Paris, thru Germany, down to Mount Blanc and down the east coast of Italy.
Thanx for the video. I am happy to support my local businesses so I have ordered that taster pack and I hope the company delivers to the wild frontiers, the PA3 postcodes. Postcodes wilder than Sicily and Palermo. Great video and this journey has been added to my Bucket list I will do after the life-saving surgeries next year.
Another wonderful and educational video - thanks. I think it's the first I've watched without any reference to 'cruising altitude'! I was fascinated to hear the people near you talking in Italian for several minutes. I will get Google Translate fired up and check if they were talking about a lone Scotsman taking videos of them getting on their coach!
Thank you for not taking the easy route, and flying direct from Milan to Palermo! This was most entertaining, and I look forward to the next video about your stay in Palermo. I really enjoy watching the challenges that you take on for RUclips.
Thanks so much for this video! I just booked it in the different direction. I actually booked it for the full route to Aosta, as I had a coupon for any trip. Don't know, if I look forward for it, after the video, but I really appreciated it! Thanks for the video!
In today's episode; Scott gets attacked by a pigeon, Scott drinks some coffee, a man doesn't like not being filmed and the Flixbus website tells porkies!
I take the Flixbus between Siena and Bologna fairly regularly. That's as much as I can endure, I often feel sorry for the poor souls who are already on the bus and still on it when I get off. Now I know what happens to them! Number one tip for travelling on Flixbus...book the seat furthest away from the onboard toilets as possible.
Also, you need to make yourself familiar with the laws around filming in public in Italy. Technically, you should seek permission, a permit or notify the appropriate authority. This applies to public or private property (including most streets). Most tourists in tourist areas are not going to be stopped, but maybe a Flixbus carpark would be a bit difficult to explain?
Great video Scott. It could have been worse, the bus driver might have made you an offer you couldn't refuse. 🤔If in your head you are hearing the song "Speak Softly, Love" you will understand that comment. 😉👍.
That intro certainly caught the spirit and beauty of Milan! Perhaps the bus driver was just embarrassed at the thought of you filming him in such a s***hole!
There is actually a theme park at the base of Mt Etna, property called Etnaland. The park opened in 2001, but didn’t add roller coasters until 2013/2014. That 2014 Coaster is a custom launch Coaster of Mack Rides from Germany who operate their own theme park called Europa Park and have quickly expanded into VR and using their original characters for various experiences-including a movie coming out next year. Anyways Etnaland is still overshadowed by the two parks in Garda and two more in Rome (although Cinecitta World is very small)
Some of the coaches from istanbul or Belgrade are also... VERY VERY long... There is also a regular bus service from Oslo and Gothenburg all the way to Bucharest in Romania. "Comati"!
In 2016, the program I was with decided to add in Bologna on the segment between Florence and Abano Terme (out Venice base and where our first concert was that night, since they was a bunch of teenage American choir, band, and orchestra kids). A few of us walked passed the university there and to a momentary or church or something-someone’s going to know what I’m talking about
Good morning Scott, I enjoyed watching your RUclips video! I was thinking about taking a trip, however, it is the high cost of traveling nowadays and the hassle of traveling especially if you are taking a transatlantic flight to the UK/Europe that makes me think twice about taking a trip, Thank-you for the video, Alister Ian Hoult, Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada.
The door you referred to as Porta Castiglione in reality is called Porta Lame. Porta Castiglione is a bit on the oppoaite side of it. Anyway, great journey overall it seemed. I live in Malta, not far from Sicily, but so far I never ever even thought of using long distance coaches between Sicily and mainland italy yet
That is not entirely true. It may be the case in the UK but not necessarily in other European countries. That is why Tesla had some problems (in Germany for instance) with its sentry mode: Filming people without their prior consent, walking around the car. Also that is why the use of dashcams is illegal in some countries. Again you need the prior consent of the people you film or the films are not acceptable in court. As a general rule, on the continent you need the consent of the people (and/or licence plates) you film, even in public places, or it is an invasion of their privacy.
One of my bucket list things it to do this journey, but by train, so I can experience the sleeper train being shunted onto the ferry to go across the sea. Not many places left where you can do that.
As if Flixbussing from Inverness to Milan wasn't enough, you decide to go even further down Italy! What's next? Getting a ferry across the Med to Tunisia and catching buses across Africa? That would take insane to the next level.
I was in Alora near Malaga one year on 5th November wearing an England, sorry Scott, Rugby Shirt but the locals had their fur coats on, the Doctor who lived next door to my friend was saying loco loco, ie mad mad but i was really comfortable just in my Rugby shirt as it was so warm
Thanks for your videos. Some years agoa, on YT, I saw a youtuber traveling from Sicily to the north of Italy on a sleeping train. The train coaches were on board the ferry (the ferry had railways tracks on it). I am not sure it exists anymore.
Blablacar bus in the background? Are they still going? I made the mistake of travelling with them from London to Rotterdam a couple of years ago. The driver seemed to have never have driven the bus before. I was near the front and I could see he was fiddling with various controls. It was a hot July day and the coach was getting hotter as we approached Dover. He didn't seem to have a clue what to do when we got to passport control - assuring us that although we were late, we'd get through in 20 mins. And hour later and we were still queueing to get through bag checks. That meant we were late and the driver was racing around trying to find the next ferry! This should be Scott's next challenge. Take a trip - anywhere - on Blablacar!
Hi Scott, Would you ever consider teaming up with Steve Marsh again and completing the challenge of "Around the world in 79 days" try and see if you can beat Michael Palin by one day. Rules travel within time without no plane travel, every country you travel through you must try the local cuisine, you must attend one football match and one theatre show whilst on your travels. That sound like your ticket.
Sorry to disappoint you, but the longest direct (i.e. with no change) Flixbus service in Italy appears to be from Aosta (leaving at 9.15) to Palermo, arriving there at 10.55 the next day, i.e. 25 hours 40 minutes
After enduring that trip from Inverness to Milan, crawling to the hotel, you woke up the next morning and thought "You know what, I'm gonna hop on Flixbus again for a lovely 22 hours. Good day for it"? You are a glutton for punishment Scott 😀

I suspect you could, but would not without some tasty shopping first at the Italian equivalent of a seven eleven!
Yeah, that or an axe! OK, steady on, how about a permanent marker instead.
Thanks Scott for sharing your adventures
Taking one for the team again, Scott. We thank you.
Nice to see a lot of people riding the tram.
Scott, while I'm getting a little worried about the length of some of these bus trips, I do appreciate your artistic expression. 🎨😎

Looking forward to seeing some of Sicily.

A suggestion for a future trip,,,,fly to Bologna, then take the monorail, the Marconi Express, into Bologna. It's well worth a day or two.

Love your journeys but 22 hours on a flix bus wow
The fact that it is dearer than the 1hr 40 flight as well!
Scott, once you find the "N" number for the particular Flixbus, there are websites which list the whole route including all stops.
Scott, you are a madman! 😂 Enjoyable all the same!

Great video Scott. It could have been worse, the bus driver might have made you an offer you couldn't refuse. 🤔If in your head you are hearing the song "Speak Softly, Love" you will understand that comment. 😉👍.
I would do this in a heartbeat...covers so many places that you would never even get a glimpse of it you were flying or even on the train.
I agree, but I think I'd do it in stages with time to look around each place of interest en route
I think you should take us on a cruise next Scott ...❤
You travel Flixbus for us, so we do not have to …
Thank you 😂😂

Scott , I’m watching this from behind a cushion . You truly are a masochist !!! Great videos though
I'm pretty sure I seen that cruise ship, the Voyager of the Seas in Naples last month, it's huge.

The bus driver didn't want to be identified as he'd told all his family and friends he's an airline pilot.
I assume the ferry "Archimede" sits deeper in the water as more vehicles are loaded...
