I definitely dig the track...buuuuuut, that opening sure is familiar...Set Your Goals-This Will Be The Death Of Us? It's beyond recognizable. Admittedly, I would rather listen to Mute hands down over Set Your Goals...but still, I couldn't help but acknowledge the similarities. Keep it up though, fellas. Every album seems to trump the album before...a sign of a great band.
I want to love this band, I really do. Seems like they check all the boxes- fast paced and energetic, technicality and precision, unapologetic lyrics, guitar harmonies for days. Something is off though. Maybe we have trained our eyes to look for a singer who is commanding the audience from the front of the stage, idk. I think in a time where punk rock has already proven what it set out to do, the genre as a whole is struggling to find that edge it needs. This band follows in the footsteps of melodic skate punk very cleanly, almost too well though.
