TBH TLOU Part 1 needed more, and I'm not just talking about the multi-player. We needed more story. Imagine how awesome it would've been if you got to the end of the original, and after that fade to black you went straight into another scene and the game picked up a brand new adventure with Joel & Ellie. Then not only would the game have warranted the 60 dollar price tag, but the remake would have warranted its existence in general.
😮 So one extra scene warrants an entire remake and a $60 price tag but brand new animation models for everything like guns upgraded version of the smoke bomb molatov nail bomb every single 1 of those has a different version depending on its upgrade level Glass and bricks get broken and shards stay in their faces New environments with new deatails with blood and mud interaction Knee capping was only available with the bow before or not at all now it is They added new models new mechanics new animations thats a remake

I feel like we need to realize that these re-releases of last of us are just moving the game to the new console and using the new consoles capabilities for selling points. I love the last of us and I own almost every version of the game but even I know that these are just ways for naughty dog to make money off of a port to a new console.
Sadly, it can seem that way! I appreciate the effort with the new No Return mode in the part ii remaster, but that could've just been cheap DLC... Both tlou and part 2 were already playable on current gen, so the remake and remaster were unneccesary...
I guess so but for 70$, definitely not. I remake is something like dead space or final fantasy 7 or even RE4 the newest remake where everything is overhauled to be up to date, don't get wrong I love tlou and I think the remake looks great but would I buy purely for that and some slight mechanic/gameplay changes, no.
The graphics are obviously really good, but the combat is super outdated because it matches the first game. It makes fighting super clunky and more often then not buggy as hell. In trying to make the two games less “disjointed” they ironically made playing this REMASTER as disjointed as possible
How is a remaster and not remake if combat being changed slightly wouldve dones so how does Adding new upgrade animations and new models for evey upgrade for every gadget You couldnt kneecap unless you used the bow before but now you can
I love the visuals but to experience it at the max is going to be out of the price range of most people. Honestly, go console. Get both, cheaper than a pc that can barely run this game high settings.
The reason Joel cannot go prone and can only crouch is because he is a fully grown ass man, and his animations reflect that. Ellie moves like a girl, Joel moves like a man. Also, nobody was upset when Shadow of the Colossus remade their game in literally the exact same way Naughty Dog did, so I have literally no idea why people are upset at that. With all that said, there is ONE valid complaint that should be really obvious. $70 for a 10 year old game is way too much, should be around $40 like Shadow of the Colossus.

For how cinematic TLOU is, this improves massively over the "cinematic" department of it, as it is one of its major focuses, and the gameplay improvements are also there.

@@TheBetaNetwork it was handled brilliantly. The sequel is a far better game in every aspect.
@@Publiksquare 🤢
Wish they would’ve at least added a dodge
It can't be a remaster if it was rebuilt from the ground up. Does this guy know the difference between a remaster and a remake?
If they released it for $40 I think it would feel much more warranted.
Their was a TLOU 2 ?... I forgot so hard that game Existed.... I didn't really like it...
Oh no, don't get us started on that one 😂 @Darko
Is the original one of your favourite games?
@@TheBetaNetwork yea 😅 played the hell out of it 2014 it was better than any Remake or Remastered 😂 no cap
That's fair enough, it's one of our favourite games at The Beta Network (besides Sam 😁)
Very interested to see how the TV series turns out as well...
@@darko612 you definitely didn’t play either game
TBH TLOU Part 1 needed more, and I'm not just talking about the multi-player. We needed more story. Imagine how awesome it would've been if you got to the end of the original, and after that fade to black you went straight into another scene and the game picked up a brand new adventure with Joel & Ellie. Then not only would the game have warranted the 60 dollar price tag, but the remake would have warranted its existence in general.
😮 So one extra scene warrants an entire remake and a $60 price tag but brand new animation models for everything like guns upgraded version of the smoke bomb molatov nail bomb every single 1 of those has a different version depending on its upgrade level
Glass and bricks get broken and shards stay in their faces
New environments with new deatails with blood and mud interaction
Knee capping was only available with the bow before or not at all now it is
They added new models new mechanics new animations thats a remake
I call it a re remastered
Yes, Factions.
Could’ve added dodging for starters lol
It's a great improvement, in my opinion
Ok I don't read comments, becouse I'm afraid of spoilers XD I played on ps3-my first game console :) (just wanted ps4 but I couldn't, so I bought older gen.) I definitely should play part II, part one? sure, why not, but in these times when everything is so expensive, I wouldn't buy it on premiere :) (but I know what I'll buy persona 5 on switch (I know, graphic is bad but I usually don't have time so mobility is the best for me:) thx
Part 1 is a remaster. They just slapped some prettier graphics on it and called it "new
Remaster and remake is totally different terms my dude
Kneecapping wasnt a thing before unless you used the bow
Now it is
There were no animations or changes in models for upgrading weapons before now there is for every one of them including smoke bombs lvl 1,2,3 nail bombs lvl 1,2,3 and molotovs lvl 1,2,3
They added new models for all the characters and added blood and mud interaction details
Whats would make it a remake to you if it wasnt even the same game anymore
Buy it if it's on sale and you've never played it before. But DO NOT buy it on PC, it requires RTX 4090 to reach over 60 fps it feels like. I should've gotten the PS3 disc instead...
But they did overhaul gameplay to be more similar to part 2 ….
I played the remaster and the remake. Had def. More fun in the Remake
Great to hear! @simosmaximos3642
Would you have preferred the gameplay of Part II in the remaster? Or you're happy with the way it is?
@@TheBetaNetwork i liked the changes but didnt miss them
Its a Remakster
😂😂😂
The graphics are obviously really good, but the combat is super outdated because it matches the first game. It makes fighting super clunky and more often then not buggy as hell. In trying to make the two games less “disjointed” they ironically made playing this REMASTER as disjointed as possible
How is a remaster and not remake if combat being changed slightly wouldve dones so how does
Adding new upgrade animations and new models for evey upgrade for every gadget
You couldnt kneecap unless you used the bow before but now you can
I love the visuals but to experience it at the max is going to be out of the price range of most people. Honestly, go console. Get both, cheaper than a pc that can barely run this game high settings.
There already was a remastered version for the ps4 this is just a remake
They should have touched the gameplay too at least for the price they put in the game.
It's a remaster of a remaster, and I'm cool with that
I didn't care cause I wanted the game graphics and characters to look more realistic so why would it be a bad idea
I think so because this is not for existing players it’s for newcomers
The last of us on ps3 was the original
The last of us on ps4 was the remastered
The last of us part 1 on ps5/PC is the remake
I think the last of us 2013 was really dated, so the improvements are welcome
Well i mean what would you even want them to add something? Everything is already perfect for the remake so whats the problem
Overall I’m not impressed with the graphical upgrade
It’s amazing idgaf what anyone says
I bet if you could gender swap the male leading characters to females or trans it would make you happy
Should’ve just put tlou2 engine
Nah man the only reason they did this was cause they was broke after part 2
Game of the year don’t sound like a poor income
*Yes in my opinion*
That's fair enough, the game is mighty epic after all! @Onion Woods
Out of curiosity, have you played the other 2 versions several times?
@@TheBetaNetwork *Yes since the age of 9 I played the PS3 and started playing again in highschool. Now I'm 18 years old and going to buy The Last of Us Remake for the PC version*
Oh, awesome! It is one of our favourite games at The Beta Network (besides Sam ;) so definitely pick up Part I on PC when it's available.
Can't wait to see the mods that come out of it too 😂

Definitely a remake and a good one
I think the real question should be why does part 2 exist
Hahaha! That is a good question 😂 @drcoke6679
How are you finding the TV show, by the way?
Because people ask for it? 🤷♂️ what kind of dumb question is that
@@PlaystationGamerZX played part 1 on cousins PS3 back then because I'm xbox and now decided for the new generation to be ps5 so I can play tlou part 1 again and I loved it but now to make my point: I won't buy part 2 because it's story is doodoo
@@all_is_oneGive a reason as to why the story is due to
Or are you just going to make claims like everyone who hates the last was too
Oh my God they killed Joel bad game. Joel can't be killed he too tough. a woman killed him? bad game. Woman cant kill bad game joel never tells his name. bad game
But all those are false
Joel told henry his name after being ambushed by him and kept him alive after bieng left for dead by them
Joel got suspicous of abby but had no time to react accordingly
If a woman like abby offemds then ellies should be hated too i mean a 14 year old girl kills several men
But lets be homest you dont actually care abiut story youre just a fanboy of joel
To show joel as a human with a heart and not just a dad with some fists and to make ellie a complex character who is more than a foil to joel
It's the re-remaster
Remaster of a remaster
Nonono remasters tend to just upscale the same 3d models, maybe change the lighting a bit, they're simple "throw into next gen" cash grabs.
For how cinematic TLOU is, this improves massively over the "cinematic" department of it, as it is one of its major focuses, and the gameplay improvements are also there.
For the fanboys
You people are calling this a good remake when the level design is that of a game released on ps3 hardware
This is a remaster not a remake
Big waste of money. Just buy the original remaster. I want a refund now
You are aware that you could have seen what the remake looked like before you purchased it, right? Nobody forced you to buy it. It's not like they lied to you in an effort to con you out of money.
@Bradley Blake exactly its not like they said it was going to include things that it didn't or released misleading trailers. Cough cough GTA trillogy
yes that is why remakes are for... this bullshir is pretty much only grafics upragde on ps5 a pc
It was necessary for me 😅
i personally think it’s good but just overpriced
It doesn’t depend on anything. It’s a product made by a company that no one has to buy if they don’t want to. “Dear Colgate, WHY are you making Super Brite Mint?? I have Super Brite Blue so there is no need for Super Brite Mint!! Therefore this is an unjustifiable cash-grab!! You guys SUCK!!” Would that be a stupid letter to write? Would that sentiment be so silly that it might actually be redundant? (Yes. The… the answer is yes because you don’t have to buy it)
I’m never buying part 2.
Understandable! We just did a deep dive into Part II remastered! Gotta say that No Return mode was fantastic, but yeah, still not a huge fan of it's story!

Hahaha! Thanks @himal02xyboethius67

that games generic as hell, one and done, whats that pedo doing with a little girl

“Brave desicion not to overhaul the gameplay”.
It’s super brave not to add anything new.
