Great review. I've watched a TON of reviews on loadable dumbbells and lots of guys have started out with the 15" vs 20" handles (10 lb vs 15 lb). The biggest complaint was that while the 15" were a LOT more maneuverable, they quickly ran out of "real estate" on the dumbbell as they got stronger, and wished they had the longer sleeves of the 20" handles for loading on plates. Just one way to look at it, I guess....
I like the 15 lbs version for snatches, C&J, etc. I use OSO collars. With the 10 lbs version, I can get 70 lbs on each easily with Rogue and Strength Co. plates and OSO collars. For rows, I like the Kabuki Kroc dumbbell because I can load it very heavily with 10 lbs plates.
Good video, bought myself a cheaper pair for $160 AUD from a local supplier (Rogue prices through the roof downunder unfortunately, like $600-700 for a pair here), but I think your point stands though on the flexibility of the product with explosive movements like snatches and stuff as loadable olympic handles spin unlike fixed dumbbells or adjustable dumbbells, I think even if I end up buying a full set of hex dumbbells in 2.5kg increments the handles will still get occasionally used for explosive movements or can bridge a gap in weight for some movements, so not a waste of money Loaded up about 32kg (bit over 70lbs) for rows tonight, really like the straight bar feel and was a better grip, a bit like a barbell
Helpful video thanks. I'm getting it for a home gym and seems like a no brainer to go with a pair of these... There's a DB25-10 with 4 inches on each end which looks like a good compromise between the two. (DB-10 is 3.625 inches I believe)
Is anyone else struggling to find adjustable dumbbell handles big enough? I'm not a huge guy by any means, but 130lb is the max my current handles will take, and im currently at 120lb on dumbbell rows. 125lb wont fit because of the plate combo, either. Really don't want to have to start using 25lb plates and having that mess with form etc.
I can get 150 lbs on my Rouge 15s using OSO collars, Rogue 10 lbs plates, and Strength Co. 5 lbs plates. I suggest the Kabuki Kroc bar for heavy rows. It can easily hold >250 lbs of Rogue 10 lbs plates. I did 100 lbs for 20 reps this week and the Kroc bar is barely loaded.
Really useful, thorough review.
Looks like the DB-10s will be just fine for my intended use.

It’s good to own both really
this video was very helpful!
loadable dumbbells are for home gyms. have a few pairs always pre-loaded with base weights and you save time and space
Great rundown, thanks. 💪
Excellent advice and review, thanks a lot and very helpful!

Great review, cheers.
If I wanted I could load one of these up with regular 10/15kg bumpers for certain moves right? As it's basically just a really short Ohio bar ..
Correct!
Great thank you!
Apologize if I missed it, but what plates are you using? I really liked the look of them
These are the Rogue Fitness 10LB competition bumper plates.

Happy it helped. Make sure you have enough change plates!

The ten pound weights and change plates are so expensive.
Do they come in a pair or one
I believe you order them as singles
Will you sell to me then ? :)
