- The adventure continues to deliver on the excitement and enjoyment. I couldn't believe my luck with the weather which turned out to be way better than the forecast - thanks Met Office.
With the sea conditions being what they were it seemed suitable to head out to the wrecks even though it was a real struggle to leave the Bass fishing. The first wreck was nearly three miles offshore and the second a mile beyond that. As you'll see in the video the conditions were quite safe for a small boat like the Orkney Coastliner.
The wreck fishing was some of the very best I've had from my own boat - the Orkney Coastliner. I was rewarded with a couple of PB Pollock.
I hope you enjoy the video (s) from these Fishing Falmouth trips.
Tight lines from me and a tail wag from the channel dog Dee.

I have commented before and will do so again ! I think your channel is amazing - because it is just as the audience should see a journey man with a small boat exploring sea fishing - realism - I can almost imagine my amateur self doing what you do - thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you so much for those kind words. My aim with this channel is to share the adventures. I'm humbled that I am and inspiration but at the same time pleased that others feel they too can take up angling and boating. Go for it as they say. Phil
Brilliant comment well deserved Phil👌
Phil do you take people out fishing on your boat buddy ? I am coming to Falmouth for two weeks from August 24th for two weeks and would love to come fishing with you.I would gladly pay for it Phil plus I will bring a load of cannon ball weights to keep on your boat mate.
Hi Antony, Just like you I visit Falmouth for holidays. I'm actually based up in Scotland. Hopefully you find a helpful local boat owner who'll take up your offer and get you out for a days fishing. Have a great holiday.
Oh I see 😊 Thank you Phil mate.I did notice you had a northern accent 👍 I was thinking somewhere near Liverpool ?
Your vidios are brilliant Phil,I love how you get so excited and can see you are a genuine nice guy that loves his fishing.Keep them coming buddy.
What a day to be out on the water!! Great video😀🎣
Yes it was! To be honest the earlier part of Fishing Falmouth 2024 was hard going with the weather. But, when you get a day like this is makes the long journey from Scotland worth it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Another great video well done. 😊
Thank you.It was one of those rare days when it all came together by way of the weather, wrecks and tides. I can't wait to return for my next trip 'Fishing Falmouth 2025' . It will be my sixth visit, I think you get the picture of how much I enjoy that area. Tight line Phil.
Hi Phil great video again, it was my friend Lawrence his wife Sue and myself who shouted "Hi" as we passed by in his boat. You had more luck fishing than we did. Tight lines keep going with the video's very enjoyable.
Fantastic, it's great you folks shouted out as you passed. There's lots of really friendly folk fishing Falmouth. I'll look out for you next time I'm down there.
Great video . Lovely pollack, felt like I was there
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. My aim with my channel is to share the adventures so that’s great you felt like you were there👍
Once a year, for some 15 years or so, I have spent a few days out of St Mawes doing exactly what you are doing here - motoring my RIB out over the wrecks or off the lighthouse and fetching up the ‘Cornish Cocktail’ of species…a delight to watch you doing this, especially on such a beautiful morning!
Hi Mark, every year I visit I learn more and more. The local anglers have been most generous offering help and advice. Great area to fish. Hopefully I'll see you on the water one day. Tight lines Phil
Those are the days when Cornwall is the best place in the world ❤
Totally agree. Even more so when you know a pasty is on order at St Mawes 😎
I didn't know that Cornish grow coffee 🦒
Ha ha, we got the beans from Origin in Porthleven. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Absolutely brilliant, love your enthusiasm mate a real joy to watch. As you were heading out the harbour you could just sense the anticipation of a good day ahead👌
Thanks 👍. Full fuel tanks and calm weather - guaranteed to generate excitement for the day ahead. 😎
Hi That buoy on the wreck was probably marking a net rather than a pot. The pollack you caught may have dived into the net rather than the wreck before you shook it free Tight lines Mike
Thanks, that makes sense. The line went solid and I was sure I’d lost the fish. Giving it a bit of slack did the trick and I felt it move. Good job as it was cracker.
What a day Phil, a decent forecast for a change, nice pollack well done, brilliant video pal 🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟
Thanks 👍. Shame I didn't get two whole weeks of that weather - but that never happens does it. There's several wrecks close together which all hold fish.
Ohhhh yessss!!!
Gets Better and better and better!!
You’re like a fine malt, Phil.
Great stuff, congrats on the PB 👏
I would maybe check how many pasties Ali has been buying as it was awfully acute timing when they went bye smiling and shouting “Hi Phil” as they headed to where youd came from mate 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Ha ha. I'm disappointed I couldn't get you on the Huss or out on the wrecks because I know you'd have loved it.
Absolutely stunning 😍 weather .I know whst u mean about appreciation of calm weather .tight lines
This year we have been a bit short of conditions like that. It was the best day weather and fish wise during the whole two week stay. But we live in hope that 2025 will include a summer.......
Glad to catch up with you again Phil, and that you found the whiting. Let me know when you come down again and you can come out with me on the sharks. Tim
Many thanks Tim. Your advice was very helpful and wow what an offer to target sharks from your super boat. I'll let you know but it will likely be a similar time next year. Phil.
@@anotherangleUK they have been catching a few although it’s a bit early, but it’s always worth giving it a go. You will be most welcome 👍
Should I manage to get down again this year I'll give you a shout. Thanks
Grate video good to see you back out.
Thank you Ray, I have to admit in a few dark moments back in January / February when I didn’t think Fishing Falmouth 2024 was going to happen. Just shows what a motivator fishing can be to getting shoulders fixed. Glad you enjoyed the video. Phil
@anotherangleUK fishing does help I had my shoder done last year all good now.
That's good to hear Ray. Tight lines mate.
Great video again, must start taking my boat further afield. Couldn’t of picked a better forecast 🎣
Thanks, I'd like to claim good weather watching skills - but I was just lucky on that one. I'm hopeful that I can also get to some new areas with Reel Time this year.
They are the perfect size to tow about and also you don’t need a lot of water to launch them in. I think I’ve almost been through the complete range of Orkneys over the years upto the 19’ fastliner. This is my second coastliner which I fish the Solent with so easy to use.
I'm certainly happy with my Coastliner. The Solent sounds worthy of a visit sometime.
I fish brixham way but after seeing falmouth area i am looking forward to having a go your way it looks fantastic for many species is there a kayak storage area there love your films mate
Hi, I've been watching RUclips videos of Brixham area and it also look good. I'm actually based in Scotland so the "Fishing Falmouth" videos are the annual family holiday. If you call the marina and have a chat you may find they can help find somewhere to store the kayak. They are friendly folks and I'm sure will try to help. Good Bass fishing close to the marina which would be accessible by kayak. Thanks for watching, check out both trips and the Falmouth video in archives. 👍
Thankyou@@anotherangleUK
Try leaving a small sack of mashed pilchards/mackerel/herring over the side of your boat on its mooring over night ........then take a look 1st light .......you Will be blown away..
Yes i know what im taking about worked out of Mylor for a few years on boats
Hi, thanks that's a top tip. I'll definitely give that a try next time. I used a prawn pot on the 2023 adventure. Lovely area for fishing.
I am jealous! My auxillary engine is in pieces waiting for parts to come from the mainland and must get it back together in order to go fish!!! CHEERS from HERE! P.S. Next time we"ll see you hauling in a big Bluefin TUNA!!!
That little Suzuki 2.5 hp four stroke is a cracking little outboard. Not too heavy. Hope you get your auxiliary up and running soon.
There are Bluefin Tuna off Cornwall - I may need a bigger boat as someone once said 😂
Hoping to get out this week , 20hp you say wow I've got a six hp tohatsu on my 16ft tamar seems to push along OK
20 hp takes the Coastliner up to 18.5 knts with all my gear, two anchors, 27 litres of fuel etc. To be honest most of the time I motor along at 10 knts as that doesn’t use much fuel.
Pouting
Thanks, that was a first on Reel Time.
