  • In this video, I inspect and dismantle a very worn Lucas 25D distributor.
    By measuring advance curves and dwell angles, I can see what effect the wear on the central shaft has on ignition timing.
    I also discuss the effect that the wear has on the ignition advance curves and why it is a problem.
    These problems are not specific to the Lucas 25D distributor, they are common to all types of distributors, the 45D 59D 65D, as well as other vehicles.

    if the dwell is too long it will overhear the HT coil.

    I just drill them out oversized and make bushes to remove the slack in the shaft 😀👍 great video 👍
