You don’t just become a Superbike Champion three times back to back by luck. Reg Pridmore is the real deal still to this day and he is a true gentleman as well. Thank you Reg for everything you’ve done and still do for us motorcycle riders.

I raced superbikes in the AFM and AMA in California from 1981 thru 1985, just as American riders began taking control in MotoGp. I raced the 1984 AMA National at Laguna Seca when Kenny Roberts came out of retirement to run his 500 Yamaha in the F1 race. And from MotoGP, Freddy Spencer and Randy Mamola were a big surprise by attending as well. Since officials combined the F1 and Superbikes practices, I was lucky to have been on the track with Roberts and Mamola but unfortunately, not Freddy after he crashed in the cork screw during early practice. Of course King Kenny won the F1 race ..but it was so cool watching Roberts, Mamola and Mike Baldwin on the rear tire so much of the race. One thing for sure, Greg has a lot of great material to work with in this series. Looking forward to it..

I took Reg's "Class" back in the late 90's. He's a very likeable guy, but I was a little surprised about his "inside line" teachings. At the time he was teaching street riders to ride the "inside line" which is exactly wrong. The right way is to come into a corner on the outside. Once you can see through the corner, then commit. Coming in on the "inside line" is wrong in so many ways. Anyone who has ridden the canyons has probably seen several people crash going in on the inside only to find a decreasing radius, or a bicycle, or a host of other surprises.... I went so far as to write Reg a nice letter, explaining the problem with teaching street riders to ride the inside line; however, he sent me a reply that smacked of... Don't try to tell me anything, cause "I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget"... Me: Okay... (As I back away from the alter)....

Running a tighter entrance line gives you more pavement to work with.... to slow for a decreasing radius or adjust for an obstacle. Not on the very inside but not on the outside edge cause there's no where to go except off the pavement!
You do want to wait and apex late once you see the full corner. Ride safe!

@@alm4132 This is what should be taught at every "motorcycle safety school". Posting this to help save lives. I've seen many crash, and a few killed because of bad, or no advice from experienced riders. This advice may safe yours, or someone else's life. Good luck! ruclips.net/video/27XTANnlH3Q/видео.html

It seems like you’ve mistaken the “inside line” with the “early apexing”. Reg doesn’t teach to enter the corner earlier, instead he teaches to use the half track (half the lane in the canyon) to avoid running wide for the rider, as well as avoiding a big truck or a car crossing double yellow. When you have all these schools with 50+ riders at the track, and not one crash all day, then you start realizing why the tight line works.
Besides the safety aspect of it, it requires a much better technique, bike control and “smooth” to ride tight lines. I personally put a lot of work in that drill myself and use in Supermoto and regular trackdays on my big bike. Made me much faster and I can pass people much easier with running tighter lines.
