I’ve always been a beige and brown color palette lover, even through the grey stage everyone seemed to go through. I definitely favor the warmer side of the color wheel. 😊
How can you be thinking about Fall already in July when we aren't even ready for it in Alaska? 🤣I mean. It isn't even dark at night yet! So forget about ambiance. However, the night is cold enough for a fuzzy blanket on the couch now. My dog has taken over my new one though. Great video as usual!
I adore the cool crisp air. It's everything. I sleep better and feel 100% better. All the smells of the autumn season and watching nature change. I am a freak about hearing Canadian geese flying over head. I've been known to stop whatever I'm doing and run outside to watch them. I'm from Canada and are home sick in the fall the most. I absolutely adore fall.
We have hot weather in the Phoenix area until sometime in November, no Fall, no changing leaves, a short Winter, & then hot again. I had heard this before I moved here, & it is true.
I agree with you about the pumpkin everything and all the signs. But the fake flowers I really don't understand. In Denmark, as you know, we don't really decorate for fall. But I love a bowl with apples, sunflowers or chrysanthemum in a vase and pinecones in a glass jar.
Thank you for the great tips Valentina! Fall is my absolute favourite season. Here in Europe is way too hot weather now so I can't wait. I'd love to change my interior for each season. But I have a big problem: How can I store blankets, beddings, faux flowers and other decoration for 2-3 different seasons? I live in a capital city in an apartement. My other question: What to do with the empty glasses of scented candles? They are too pretty to throw away and too much waste in my eyes. You need again storage place. Or has somebody got a good idea? :)
Thank you so much Valentina for putting this video together. You always have wonderful style sense and I appreciate all the time you put into these vlogs.
I live in Palm Springs so the fall weather doesn’t start until November so I have to create it in my home. Love the fall scents to get the “party” started! I’ll try the pottery barn and anthro ones this year.
Hi valentina omg your video opened my eyes. My name is wendy and I live in Belgium in europ. I get sometimes frustrated when I decorate for fall because as you know over here it is very difficult to find typical fall decor. But now you showed me that you can decorate for fall in a complete different way thank you so much for that!!!
I love the color palette that fall brings! And the coziness! I also try to avoid pumpkins and ghosts. I do like to fill a dough bowl with the natural mini pumpkins that you can get at the supermarket. But not a big bowl, just a small one. I also look for fragrances that inspire fall without being too cheesy.
@@elizabethwright4784 They've lasted for up to a year for me. I still have one from last year that has not gone mushy yet. I keep it in a cool room where I dry my herbs (and my spinning gourds - for crafts).
Fall is my favourite season. Halloween and fall decor creeps me out ( I am weird I know) I do love changing my pillow covers and decor. I get dried florals from the flower nurseries, they have such beautiful real dried flowers, bleached Italian ruscus is my favourite, bunny tails and tatarica they make a cute arrangement too.
Valentina pls do a video on how to bring and play with textures. What does this really mean, how to add colour with textures ie. do you use contrasting colours with textures or stay in the same colour family? Pls help. Thanks.
I live in Europe, so maybe I don’t get it because of that, 🫣but we are in July, middle of summer…..I don’t want to think about fall until 2 month’s later….love your videos otherwise
All these videos make me sad. Decorating for the holidays should be fun not stuffy. Watching kids light up when they see cheesy, tacky holiday decor is so heartwarming. So, please if you have kids put out the tacky decor. Childhood is so short & if you don't have kids maybe bring out our inner child will do our souls some good!
I actually really love her everyday home style but for holidays and birthdays I prefer to cheese it up for my kiddos. They just really enjoy it, and their reactions are priceless!!
In Australia we are currently in the Winter season and Spring starts in September so I’m not in Fall (Autumn) mode but I still loved watching your video to give me ideas for next year. I never buy anything with pumpkins or Fall text as I think it’s very tacky 😉
A color palette DEFINITELY keeps you focused and concise. Not so much all over the place with design and color. “Diva-of-design”, I’m just as giddy as you are about autumn. My fav season and I sure hope it cools off. May you and your family have a wonderful upcoming autumn season. And thank you so much for your bright spirit, funny hubby moments, and amazing ideas. Thanks to your channel (new subscriber), my home has become even more a conversation piece of compliments galore with all of our family and guests recently visiting from time to time and it makes them want to make improvements with their home. Thank you thank you for knocking the generic fall decor. Im in the south so the "Happy fall ya'll " is so overdone! To me it actually cheapens your home. Makes your house look an aisle from the dollar store
Here in South Florida we have 3 days of fall and 2 days of winter. But come September I will be decorating for fall!!! I try and stay cool listening to Christmas music in August.
I am happy Canadian and I do love the F word lol but tad a bit soon to chat about it - but I do love all the colours and the coziness Just keep it elegant and simple No need to go over the top with ghost and gobbling ....but candy is good !
I m in Southern California so to start thinking of fall in July doesn’t work for me! It is so hot here but I do like your tips on color, throw blankets and fragrance! You are spot on!! Thank you 😊
I’m with you- we’ve had a week of temps in the 💯 and won’t see that dip below 99 until (hopefully) late next week. So I’m not going to even think about changing seasons in my house until September 1st. Call me old fashioned, call me traditional, I’m okay with that 😀
Fall is my absolute favourite! Ikea actually got these really realistic looking artificial "dried" hydrangeas in a muted grey green and muted peachy orange. I can't have real flowers with my cats so these are a treat to find! I do keep real florals on my kitchen balcony though and I can't wait to transition those to fall! I can see those from inside and they're safe behind a window from my cats so I can have a lot of fun with those! (Even cat safe flowers get eaten so they're not cute lol)
@@cassiesmith2019 it's totally a thing with some cats! I just do my best to find the most real looking florals and plants because my place looks too sad with nothing! Yes in the heat the outdoor bouquets don't last as long, it's currently 26 Celsius here in BC, Canada by the beach which isn't even that bad but I'm holding off a but before getting a new outdoor bouquet haha.
I've never started decorating for fall in August, that is still summer. Always in September, even later in the month. I so agree with your decor ideas for the fall, that is how I liked it for many years. I was raised in Europe. ☺
I really love the idea of transitioning the home subtly with colors, textured, and scents. I feel like it’s a more timeless look and truthfully less expensive because you won’t feel compelled to buy all of the cheap themed garbage that comes out every year. Definitely going to be using these tips to create an ambiance in my home from here on out. 💛
I am SO here for talk of Fall, precisely bc this summer has been blisteringly hot and miserable. It's actually unsafe to go outside! I really like your overarching theme of not being too kitschy, maintaining a feeling of luxury with texture/ambiance/colors and rotating through a few key objects that signal the change in seasons. With this enduring heat, the calendar and a change in home decor may be the only things indicating that Fall is here!
Everyone mentioning the date and temps and to slow down and enjoy the time... Duh... It's called planning ahead. When you have a channel like this you want to be on point for people who plan and shop for seasonal changes ahead of time. She's offering great suggestions and INSPO ideas.
“”IF”” you change your mind about faux pumpkins….Williams-Sonoma has a beautiful set of faux pumpkins….in shades of green. The shapes are wonky and look farm-picked. OMG…they’re not in my budget but I highly recommend at least taking a peak at them. (They are $249 for five!)
I think I started watching HoV videos last fall, and that was when I started working on going more natural with the fall foliage and decor. Last year I was really happy with how it all turned out. I didn't go overboard, it was all more subtle, moody kinds of things, patterns, textures and scents. I loved it! I do have one Mickey pumpkin pillow that I can't not use! 😆🎃
Hola Valentina a mi me gusta los colores neutros en todo su gama pero las calabazas no yo lo respeto es una cultura pero no va conmigo esa decoración 👏👏👍🤗🌞🙋♀️😘
I agree with not having the things that say “Fall y’all”, “Thankful “, “Blessed”, “Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice!”. I got rid of all my fall signs, pillows, etc two years ago when I did a whole house declutter. I still have my pumpkins but they are not traditional, they are teal mercury glass in one room and cream and sage ceramic ones in another room. I don’t have anything Halloween except the real pumpkin I carve with my grandson! The idea of a whole house color palette for the year and seasons is something I have been working on also for the past two years. I am getting closer to getting it the way I want. My husband likes this approach too!
I am doing the same thing in our new home. Transitioning from the ole decor with sayings to a color pallets instead. I gave away all my previous holiday decor with words andI sayings. Valentina is right, it’s much more classy & upscale to use a color palette. 🍁 🍃
A neutral colored pumpkin or two are welcome at my house😀, but as V always says: your home is about you. I'm thoroughly enjoying a long awaited summer, but I enjoy Fall video's any time of year, I even rewatched Christmas decorating videos this week. So cosy! Thanks for the video
It’s winter 🥶 here in Australia 🇦🇺 and the only things I changed out were my cushions and throw rugs, and I’ll probably keep them around once we hit our summer months, we’re not big on decorating for the different seasons here, it’s mainly at Xmas time, I can’t imagine having pumpkins 🎃 around my home Lol 😂, plus I don’t have a lot of storage space to be changing my decor every few months for the different seasons, I think it’s more an American thing from what I’ve seen from my USA 🇺🇸 friends and here on RUclips, we have more Summer months than winter and I’ll be glad to see the end of our winter 🥶 even though it doesn’t get as cold as some places in Australia 🇦🇺 and over there 👉🏻, but I still love watching how you decorate your home and share your knowledge with us, I love it very much. ♥️♥️
Living in the UK I'm not into pumpkin everything so this was a refreshing change. One of my favourite autumn/fall interiors tips is to fill a beautiful crystal bowl with cinnamon scented pine cones. I always keep a bowl on the console table in the kitchen and the smell is divine
I love all your cozy videos , and great taste of decor, im guilty with all the holiday decor lol, but my kids love it … thanks for the tips and tricks 🥰
I’m all about the pumpkins, tbh. Blue ones, especially. My favorites look very luxe and remind me of Cinderella and other fairy tales. Velvet, light up transparent glass, ceramics, and other fabrics. I’m much more into the quaint, vintage style. So it’s not your typical pumpkin style, but I’m definitely all about the pumpkins.
I moved to Florida 4 years ago we don’t have fall here and all the stuff I do have feels fake . When I lived in the Northeast . It was enjoying the cooler air that crisp air that I wish I could bottle up . It was seeing the colors of autumn. So I kinda like the idea of adding in warmer colors and your idea of scents
I think the pumpkin overload is mostly a southern charm thing lol I’m guilty of it! I just no longer wish to decorate like that because my kids are older now and they actually appreciate when I do not jump up any space lol. I actually diy’d with pompous grass that I found ! So you can decorate without having to spend a lot. I searched up Fall DIY high end and found a few good ones. Yours is definitely a favorite! I love the sheets. Thank you for all of the inspiration! You truly know what you’re talking about! 😘

A vomit of pumpkins!! I’m so done😂😂😂😂 you’re not the grinch of fall, you just don’t like a whole bunch of fall themed decor. I don’t either..
south florida is eternally hell summer i wish for fall.....
Fall really? Pathetic
I am so excited also. Love fall/winter. Hate summer
Thank you so much Valentina for putting this video together. You always have wonderful style sense and I appreciate all the time you put into these vlogs.
Don’t say it Valentina… lol
I love the classic fall decor.., I just made a centerpiece so I am ready.. and tacky
Your new video is nice ,even though we in Greece have 42 degrees Celsius
WOAH, now! It's JULY! Lol. In NE Ohio, we drag out every last day of summer- but I will remember to watch this video in two months:)
Can you give me a duvet recommendation in a brownish linen fabric? Maybe IKEA or on Amazon?
I agree, a small dose of mini pumpkins is cute and not cheesy! Same with any of the decorative squash. Works well in a kitchen in a bowl or something.
How long do the real small pumpkins & squash last? Thanks!
@@elizabethwright4784 About a month if I remember correctly. One year I had to give a good wash to my dough bowl because the went bad.
@@elizabethwright4784 They've lasted for up to a year for me. I still have one from last year that has not gone mushy yet. I keep it in a cool room where I dry my herbs (and my spinning gourds - for crafts).
@@ralugator I live in a more humid environment and that’s probably why they didn’t last too long 🫠
Love your tips. I am so happy to transition to fall. My favorite time is the first fIRE IN THE FIREPLACE.
No ! I Can’t! I just Can’t watch or listen to Anything to do with F .. Summer Summer Summer
☀️💗🕊☀️
All these videos make me sad. Decorating for the holidays should be fun not stuffy. Watching kids light up when they see cheesy, tacky holiday decor is so heartwarming. So, please if you have kids put out the tacky decor. Childhood is so short & if you don't have kids maybe bring out our inner child will do our souls some good!
Her taste is sad and depressing. Black. ??
I actually really love her everyday home style but for holidays and birthdays I prefer to cheese it up for my kiddos. They just really enjoy it, and their reactions are priceless!!
In Australia we are currently in the Winter season and Spring starts in September so I’m not in Fall (Autumn) mode but I still loved watching your video to give me ideas for next year. I never buy anything with pumpkins or Fall text as I think it’s very tacky 😉
Wait, what, fall? Here in Canada, we are only a month and change into summer! I’ll still watch though…love your design style.
In other words, you are beautifulfying homes all over. Outstanding!
But I wish is that you would give me tips and tricks how to Make my husband let me do the decorating
I have the same problem! I can’t keep my cats out of my window sill plants. And I live in Florida so it’s too hot to grow most of them outside. 😭😭
Thank you so much for understanding! 😅
I live in Florida so fall means … 10 degrees cooler
I 100 % agree with you! Although I have to remind myself that I do agree with you when I’m in the store lol pumpkin obsessed! 🤪😂
Lol!!!!!!! We have to be strong for each other! 😅👊🏼
Omg I've fallen in love with your mug. Do you remember where it's from?
“”IF”” you change your mind about faux pumpkins….Williams-Sonoma has a beautiful set of faux pumpkins….in shades of green. The shapes are wonky and look farm-picked. OMG…they’re not in my budget but I highly recommend at least taking a peak at them. (They are $249 for five!)
I love pumpkins. You can’t have my gourds!!! Lol Happy pre fall y’all 🍁
When do you really decorate for fall? I always decorate on October 1.
Happy Wednesday Valentina! I’m also a lover of fall! It’s my favorite here in Denver,Colorado!
I am growing grey/blue pumpkins for the porch.
Love fall winter!
Living in the UK I'm not into pumpkin everything so this was a refreshing change. One of my favourite autumn/fall interiors tips is to fill a beautiful crystal bowl with cinnamon scented pine cones. I always keep a bowl on the console table in the kitchen and the smell is divine
We're using silk pillowcases now, and I'm never going back to anything else. Linen for the sheets.
I love all your cozy videos , and great taste of decor, im guilty with all the holiday decor lol, but my kids love it … thanks for the tips and tricks 🥰
Me too..I am all about the orange, browns , pumpkins 🎃 lol
I’m all about the pumpkins, tbh. Blue ones, especially. My favorites look very luxe and remind me of Cinderella and other fairy tales. Velvet, light up transparent glass, ceramics, and other fabrics. I’m much more into the quaint, vintage style. So it’s not your typical pumpkin style, but I’m definitely all about the pumpkins.
I don’t celebrate Halloween so I actually appreciate AUTUMN decor and not just “spooky Halloween” decor….thank GOD 👏🏽🍂🍁
I am not ready for fall, Valentina 😂 I am sitting in my summer garden and sipping my coffee. However, I am ready for fall planning. I am so turned off by the decors with pumpkins, fall and thankful. I want something more elevated and you delivered.
Thank you so much 😊
You will know it is fall in Germany when you can buy gingerbread cookies with jam stuffing in the supermarkets. Chances are this will be the case within the next two to three weeks 😂 So you have to be ready for fall decor ….. I am looking forward to fall. I am not a big fan of summer but love fall and winter and gingerbread cookies 😉
