I prefer the pepper gel type. The gel is more accurate, sprays up to 15 feet and you're less likely to accidentally, depending on the wind, spray yourself. Found one that straps to my hand, so it's not easy to take away from me and is very easy to unsafe and deploy with the same hand you are wearing it on. Just your thumb and you've got it. Brand name, SABRE, found it at Walmart when they were selling ammo and such. Great for joggers, hikers and for me when I have to go outside at night for any reason or when things seem sketchy. Small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and slip on, then clenched fist to prevent it from being taken. No one is getting within 3 feet of me, so the watch thing isn't going to be my first choice. Don't be nice ladies, tell people to "Back off!" or whatever works for you so they know, not today satan, not today. If they are harmless, they should understand, if they are not, you've just saved yourself and your family grief.
The glass breaker is handy if your trapped in your vehicle. Very good video! Jason, you could do stand up comedy, and teach people safety tips at the same time! Thank you.
I have two boys 6 and 8, boys are a lot of fun, more energy than they know what to do with. Love the advice you give could save a life! Thanks for your hard work.
My teach was a fan of slicing tomatoes with flicking paper. He showed us how paper can slit neck level material. It's all in the flick. Bible paper works just fine.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. AND, have you ever tried the plastic impact tool called the Stinger, originally made by James Keating- a semi rounded point that protrudes between the fingers while the main portion rests in the palm ? Concentrates the full impact of a strike on one small point, which could break bones or cause a lot of pain. Amazon sells them too.
@@melissasmess2773 I gave one to each of the ladies in my department at work- a gun is always good, but not always permissible or practical. Nice thing is that it is instinctive in use. The only caveat is that a hard strike to the temple or area above and behind the ear can be quite fatal, as can a throat punch, then you have all that mess to deal with...
You should probably check your state's penal code. It might be classified as a prohibited weapon because it's concealed and is essentially brass knuckles, which are often prohibited.
@14:27 But if you're using a loud whistle within an anti-gun area, anti-gun State or anti-gun Country; very likely everybody will magically come running, within fractions of a second, to your aid!
Merry Christmas Jason to you and your family!! Thank you for helping all of us be safer. The Tactical pen is my favorite for sure, then the target stands and bear spray bracket!! Fantastic video!!!
Bear spray temporary blinds the attacker so you can get away, tactical pen is great, skull you can use Halloween, targets are perfect for dart launcher which could kill someone ( gotta lock that up if you have kids) .
10:11 I've seen ones that look similar to that... and I believe you back the wingnut out, slide the piece back to the wingnut, insert the other end into the door strike plate (frame side), slide the piece up to the door so it bridges between door and frame and then tighten the nut down.
I like the tactical pen. I had never heard of it before watching your videos. Now I have two of them. I always carrying them on me. I like the way it writes, too. 👍
That bear spray bracelet looked like a batman gadget! I immediately knew that thing was going #1. Portable targets for #2 as you can always get a slingshot or some sort of launcher and practice anywhere and #3 the tactical pen for sure
Merry Christmas. The items might have been a good stocking stuffer, but they'll ge great gimmicks for New Years. Portable target stands are essential when regular ranges are not available, but I'm going to go with the whistle because I successfully used whistles while working as a security guard.
The dart launcher is a good thing to have in your bathroom, in case an intruder barges in and catches you with your pants down. I wouldn’t want to stage a gun by the toilet but the dart launcher will do if you’re on the loo!
Your poor little guy scared from the skeleton! Anyway, it is a toss up between the bear spray and the dart launcher. The bear sprayer would be good someone who perhaps gets attacked in a parking ramp sat night, a jogger for warding off dogs, or up close attack of some sort. The dart launcher could deter someone coming at you with something other than a gun. Might be good also to hunt small game like squirrels or birds maybe? Depends on quality and how well it launches which looked pretty good. I do also like the tactical pen, even if it’s on the cheap side. Hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and hope you have a blessed new year.
There will be time's you don't have a Smith and Wesson , Martial Art's can be effective depending on two things , Make sure you a great and well trained teacher , 2 ) Be as serious as you can and learn EVERYTHING you can !
I’d say you’d definitely need the lanyard on the first flashlight. It would hurt a hell of a lot more to swing that metal flashlight at someone’s head, rather than just strike them with it.
I like the target stands. I like the tactical pen, the whistle and the dart shooter. I think if you fired those in succession, they would really do some damage! God bless you, Jason!
Dart launcher reminds me of that funny scene in THE PUNISHER where Harry Heck gets shot in the neck with a little knife blade. Also reminds me of a Bo Shuriken, meant to be thrown as a dissuasion/distraction device. Fun video!
Another great video!! The bear spray is a great idea but to little spray with no distance!! SO, I will go with the Tactical Pen is my favorite!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Even though it is cheap I kind of like the tactical flashlight, however, I bet I could get on a plane wearing that pepper spray bracelet. Yes, I know the plane is a confined area and I would risk dealing with the pepper spray cloud affecting me if I sprayed it at a hijacker....I would rather deal with that than be a victim among possibly hundreds to thousands when the hijacker flies into another building.
Loved this video and would love to see more like this...testing self defense gadgets. Can you PLEASE post the links for each of these items and any you do in the future. Thanks
I like the tactical pen. I have 2 already. I also like the whistle, although I agree that you can't rely on others but I think it might be good to have one anyway to at least call attention to an incident. The bear spray bracelet is kind of cool too. I just noticed Amazon is restricting shipping of bear spray to California. They want us vulnerable.
I'm a 50 year Martial Artist , I don't know which school your talking about , But most schools don't just teach to train for compatitions , They train for self defence , Using every and all dirty tecquinces , shoots , kick's most and including ( GROIN KICK'S ) as one , We study Jeet Koon Do . Bruce Lee's training and book . His only book . And train with some of his personal students , I will say this , If your in a fight , And there is no other way out , Make the first shoot's or kick's , Use everything as dirty or lealthal as you can ! Protect your self and your loved ones ! And Stay Calm
Thanks for the video. While the "bear spray" device might be the most useful of these in a self-defense scenario if used as designed, I'm still skeptical. I'm skeptical of the short range. I'm skeptical of having to hold one hand on the other wrist when I'm fighting for my life. I would still give that device a D+ grade as being useful. I don't see much value in a flashlight that uses watch batteries. That light really doesn't have much value as a light because the batteries won't last long enough. I'm guessing that the lighter won't be useful because it won't hold lighter fluid very long before all of the fluid evaporates. The glass breaker might be okay as a glass breaker, but I don't see a glass breaker as all that useful a survival tool. The knife would have some value as a blade, but I'm guessing that it wouldn't hold an edge well. Ultimately, the the whole assembly might work well enough as a cheap, ugly palm stick. I'd still give the whole thing a D+ grade. The dart gun is cool as you mentioned, but I see it as largely useless for self-defense. I'd give it a D-. I'd be curious to see whether the target stand really works as a target stand. A part of me suspects that it wouldn't really work. In a self-defense scenario, I'd still rather hit someone with one of those stands than try to defend myself with the other objects. As a quality object, maybe it would rate a B- as a target stand and C- as a useful piece of metal for hitting an attacker. The door security device is too much of an unknown to rate. The way you described the whistle, it seems to be a good quality whistle. I'd rather have a metal whistle in a bug-out bag, but a good plastic whistle could still be worth having. As a product that would do its job, the whistle might be good enough to get an A grade. That makes the whistle the item most worthy of recommending as something to purchase. In a self-defense scenario, maybe the loud noise would make the attacker put his hands to his ears. Then one could hit him with the target stand. I'll still give the whistle a D+ for self-defense use. I'm not in a mood to spend money after the holidays, but the tactical pen is one my mental purchase list for someday in the future.
Okay I have 4 younger grandchildren and that would be a great learning experience, so please send the package my way;thank you for the fun and informative video!
You have to hope, when you are attacked, that you are down wind if you are going to use the bear spray.... or you could just ask the bad guy to trade places with you.
I prefer the pepper gel type. The gel is more accurate, sprays up to 15 feet and you're less likely to accidentally, depending on the wind, spray yourself. Happy New Year - The Spy Pen # 1 - discrete and effective. I like the whistle and bear spray next on the list. Thanks for all you do for us.
Thanks for watching!
The dart launcher has a part that slides under the three buttons as a safety to keep it from firing if kept in a pocket.
Having a bear spray bracelet would not only be handy, but fashionable too. Happy New Year ❤
Thinking where to buy it.
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Jason for the video and Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays! God bless!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!🎄
My aunt used to give me and my brother's a whistle for Christmas when we were little. We didn't get to keep them for long.
Jason is New James bond 😂
Thank you, Jason! God bless you and your loved ones! 🌟
God bless you too! Stay safe and God bless!
@@JasonHansonSpyBriefing Much appreciated!
Jason, I always take my exploding skull with me in my car. I don’t leave home without it. lol.
Merry Christmas Jason. The first item (the flashlight) actually looks like a kubaton.
I'd pick the pepper 🌶 spray for emergencies but the target stand for preparation for an emergency 😅

There is always the good old tactical SCREAM! 😜
I like the flashlight because it seems like a good nun Chuck with the lanyard, has a blade, light and FIRE capabilities. So cool.
My teach was a fan of slicing tomatoes with flicking paper.
He showed us how paper can slit neck level material.

Yea definitely Jason! The tactical pen is very crafty 👀
The flashlight was my favorite. Merry Christmas!
The tactical pen by FAR is the best of that lot of items! But the 'bear' spray is handy, too.
not sure about that.. what if aggressor is dragging you by hand? You need to hands to use it. Typical pepper spray needs just one hand.
Merry Christmas! tactical pen by far would really be helpful among the items you have shown, thank you.

The Fox 40 is the world's loudest whistle. That's just a cheap ripoff at twice the size.

It sure seems like that wristband sprayer thing would be more effective if they could make it spray a couple feet farther, at least.

I could sure use those target stands. I mean sure, who WOULDN'T want an emoty 3' ranged bear spray but i wouldn't want to be greedy lol
I like the bear spray, but that whistle is the best bang for your buck…besides the good ole’ tactical pen!

On the bracelet they should angle the nozzle sprayer out the outer wrist that way no way shape or form you can really point it at yourself

Why does the bear spray bracelet need to be “discreet?” Is the bear going to see it from a distance and charge you because you’re wearing it?
What is the specific item that you use to insert into your doors so that nobody can kick them in?
