I'm not a pilot, but what draws me to watch aviation vlogs is the professionalism and efficient manner that Owen, and a few other pilots conduct themselves. I really admire that. Not caring what seat your in. JR vogs are pretty good too:)
Owen is great, such a class act. I like 'Fly With Rich', too. Both are such genuine guys. I'm not a fan of the upload schedules though lol, but I'd imagine these guys are super busy, and aviation channels just don't grow as fast as automotive channels, so I can't blame them for not overworking 5 videos a week.
I flew one of those 40 years ago. I didn't know any were still being operated. Great to see it. The scan of the instrument panel brought back some great memories!
Have just over 3k hours in the 501SP and what I like about this video is the use of checklist not just memory and the discussion of speed, emergencies, etc before take off. The day you think you've got enough hours that you don't need your checklist is the day your should stop flying I was always told so respect for that. Finally got as glass cockpit two years ago and didn't realize how much extra work I was doing with just analog. Glass is amazing
It seems Owen is a very gifted pilot and he’s proven what hard work and passion can achieve. Having said that I enjoy watching all of his content no matter what he is flying. Keep the content coming buddy.
You've come a LONG way ( literarily ) in just TEN years, Owen. I always enjoy seeing another perfect landing. I also like seeing the multi-camera views during landing - very nice editing.
Owen is by far the best ambassador for future pilots and current ones. I’m working on getting my currency up and running again to be a safety pilot for part 91 owners and operators. Owen inspires me with each video even after over 40 years experience. Good job my man.
Owen, you are about 40 years behind me in your career. By now you know in the corporate world who you know is just as important as what you know. Jets can do amazing things, the numbers quoted are at maximum gross weight, 15c/59f and sea level. Reduce the actual gross weight and most will reduce the required runway length in about half. I’ve had a Westwind 2 in and out of 2800 feet, also landed the G3 simulator on the short runway at SNA. Nice job.

Yay more Owen content 🎉 This being your own plane, it would be awesome to see what your guests experience, see and hear the cabin noise etc. Maybe in a future video with your girlfriend(s)?

You are confident, professional, and very smooth in terms of your day to day life as an American Aviator! Nice Work!!! Respectfully, Jim Chambers
Loved the video. Have been training out of KRHV for the past year or so and it’s so cool hearing the controllers I talk to in the video haha. Hope to be in ur shoes soon. Cheers
Are used to fly over the top of Camarillo airport going into Oxnard back in the 80s when Camarillo was an uncontrolled airport. It was always so busy and kept me very busy looking for traffic shooting the ILS into Oxnard. I enjoy any of your content Owen no matter what you’re flying. Keep up the good work.
Great video man, loved seeing you go back to the airport it all started at for you 10 years ago - but in a jet! I got the same feeling when I flew back into my hometown airport I worked at the fbo at for 10 years fueling all these jets.... to land there in a gulfstream with my family (from vegas) , to meet the rest of my family (from mississippi) was such a surreal feeling. Proud of your achievements man, keep killin it!
@@FlyWithOwen Guido Warnecke is my favorite pilot in your category. The accent has a lot to do with it. I was born and raised an airport brat and spent as much time in the bonanza as I did in the family car. Dad would buy them and flip them, averaging 5 planes at a time. I fly for fun and fun only now. You could say I'm a little jealous of your career. Be safe out there. Cheers
Whoa! We got to see Owen use his feet before flight. Might need another camera to show the feet movements, too. I'm glad the plane is doing well as are the pilot and co-pilot. 😄😄To answer Jeff's question, I'd like to continue seeing piston as well as jet flying with Owen!!
Where does the time go. As always, not even enough time to finish a cuppa coffee riding along with you, Owen. Good to see Jeff hanging out in the right seat, haven't seen him in a while. Too busy driving one of his 15 super cars I guess, lol Going to be some serious IFR weather out of Van Nuys this weekend, this will be a good weekend to stay home and watch the Yellowstone marathon. Great video as always, Owen. Take care.
Video popped up in my recommended. I've been training out of RHV for the past couple of months and just completed my Multi ride with the same DPE in your picture. Aviation truly is a small world. 😂
I'm new to Owen's channel. I love the different types of airplanes he is flying and how professional he is with all of them. Definetely would love to see the Bonanza too. As a 68 y/o PPL that will probably never get IFR rating, the world above FL 180 is fascinating to me.
That was really cool to watch, I feel like I learn something every time I see your videos Owen. As a private pilot in 152's and 172's, the jets (and Piaggio) are an entirely different realm. Would definitely love more Bonanza content too!
Always enjoy watching Owen's content. He is so very professional, and thorough while flying. Thanks to Jeff for sharing this content as well. Personally I love the Citation, although you'd have to win the powerball to fly much, with the burn rate it has. lol
I learned to fly and instructed at RHV 40 years ago. I was the sole instructor at Nice Air when we started it up. So long ago that Amelia Reed would often be in the pattern at the same time. Even got chewed out by her once. It was a right to passage.
What a great way to come back to the airport where you learned at. I took my private pilot checkride in the same airplane I had my first flight in 20 years earlier. Awesome video as always, that's such a cool airplane.
Hi. I have 3 brothers. My youngest had his helicopter license and used to co-pilot for KCRA3. Both my parents had their private licenses. So, im the kind of guy who likes to watch all the private and commercial jets and planes fly over. I live up in northern California situated between San Francisco and Tahoe in the valley. I get to see all kinds of jets take off from MCC which used to be a military base, but now serves the department of forestry firefighters. One year we had the big 747 doing fire suppression which was really cool, but now its mostly DC-9's and 10's. Still very cool. But the majority of flights are private contract like NetJets, etc. So, my son is in college now and thinking about his future career choices and he likes flights of jets, airplanes, and airshows ad much as i so i suggested he should watch some of your videos and consider being a private pilot someday. You know, it runs in the family. Thanks guys. Oh, btw, the Reno Air Races are no more. 😢
Owen! You da man! Great video. Flew up there from KPOC to KRHV in a single engine Cessna many years ago. Loved the "Thanks for the show" from the tower. This Citation 501SP is one of my favorite Citations, old easy and just a good looking airplane. Keep'em coming....
