Staff members behind the scenes who interact with the players every day joking or serious have a detrimental impact and will need to either change their attitude or expect to be replaced just like some of the players who will also be removed. We are not a small club, we’re a big club with big ambitions and those who aren’t with us are against us and need to go elsewhere. From this point on, I’m only concerned about Spurs and no other club. That’s how the big winning clubs and their fans tend to behave by focusing on winning, not obsessing over what rivals are doing. O’Hara wearing a MC shirt actively cheering for them was a complete embarrassment. COYS! Only COYS!

The reason we have failed is down to the owners past and present! The early 70’s and 80’s teams particularly just needed a bit of investment to improve the squad to challenge for the league title but the owners wouldn’t do it. Even Harry Redknapp’s team just needed a couple of quality players but Levy went and a got couple of players, one who was injury prone and one who was past it! That’s the culture that needs to be changed if we are ever going to succeed again?

Interesting to listen to his pre match press conference again before the match. You can pretty safely assume his pep talk to the players from that leading up to the match was something like this is all blown out of proportion from the media and Twitter but once we're in the stadium and we give the fans something to cheer about, they'll be right behind us and create a raucous atmosphere. I think it really shocked him this was not the case. He said after the match that maybe he misread the situation and he needs to go back to the drawing board. I think this refers to using the fans as motivation as this seems to be fundamental to his motivation. I wanted the team to do well but this was a no win situation for the fans. Carragher was the only one who nailed it pre match: the fans will be behind the team (as 99.9999% were apart from about 5 who shamed themselves - the 2 doing the Poznan, and the 3 ejected) but the fans were never going to carry the team over the line in this match, as there was too much jeopardy - especially in the case of a draw which would be meaningless to Spurs and represent a 90% swing in Arsenals favour to win the league. I'm quite surprised Ange who has been note perfect up until the last month didn't really grasp this. Anyways, onwards and upwards hopefully, thank god that's over and I remain an absolute Ange zealot. Something special is coming with this manager if we stick with him. COYS

I'm fully Ange IN, but I think over the last 3 months, he has unintentionally convinced the fans that the top 4 race doesn't matter, and what matters is the long-term project. Which meant that the result against City, according to him, doesn't really matter as long as we are playing our football.

Sorry, I’m not a Spurs fan but this makes no sense. If the fans got behind Spurs 100% to win the game, it would almost have guaranteed Champions League as you must beat Sheffield United every day of the week. Any game is winnable at home with fans behind you. So the poor Spurs players did not have that lift and energy from the fans and now you will never know. The only thing you will know is that you didn’t support Ange and the team properly and you are forever disgraced as a supporter base. Also, this is not a one off - what if Arsenal are in second place again next year and 2 or 3 other teams are in contention?

Fans commenting on recent result simply don't get what a rebuild is - it's big changes to the squad and big changes to how the team plays, which inherently causes inconsistency in performance. As Ali said, Ange wasn't happy about it either, and if people actually listened to what Ange said after certain matches they'd know this as well. Losing arguably the best striker in the world and undergoing all that change and yet still improving to 5th - some perspective is needed from some quarters.

The concept of actively wanting your team to lose just to spite your rival is foreign to many watching from afar.
And to feel like that because of “Bragging Rights” and the teasing that comes with it is embarrassing to view.
In Australia we have rivalry’s that are as passionate as this in place longer but no proper supporter could ever hope their club would bend over for any team and the thought of it is sickening.
You wear the pain and crap from your work home club school etc plus the media and online rubbish etc and aim to beat those bastards next game.
We also don’t subscribe to the oh it’s only just this one game it doesn’t really matter line of thinking either.
You play to win at all times and once you break the barrier you are gone.
Supporters might not mind certain losses but to actively want one prior to a game for your own club is kind of unheard of.

Sat in our usual seats in the South stand nobody near us was chanting for Man City or doing the poznan when they scored, plenty of anti Arsenal songs as expected, 100 % behind Ange but when he says all he wants is to win then don't pick a second string team in the Caraboa Cup, also when we are conceding set piece after set piece game after game don't be too stubborn to admit it's an issue especially when fans have had 10 hour trips driving to St James Park and Anfield to watch it keep happening week after week let fans know its being addressed, The media have loved a good ole bit of shit stirring when Spurs were in a no win situation really, win and laughed at for handing it to Arsenal lose and 'Spursy' for not showing up, as it was we showed up played well and a few brain dead sitting near Ange caused him to blow his top. Personally while I was hoping and cheering for a win I just didn’t want a draw as it was no use to us given the Liverpool/villa result from the night before. We win we would be in a good position given final day fixtures to qualify for champions league, we draw we just stay fifth same as if we lose and if it wasn’t going to benefit us at least we wouldn’t have helped arsenal.

It’s frustrating that even some Spurs fans/commenters are suggesting that the attitude towards the game on Tuesday is unique to Spurs fans. A lot of Utd fans wanted Arsenal to beat them last Sunday for the same reason and I remember vividly Liverpool fans wanting to lose at home to Blackburn on the final day of the 95 season to stop Utd winning the league. Ange may have experienced the Old Firm rivalry but it doesn’t mean he understands it- if Celtic were ever to be put in the position we were in the other night the reaction would have been the same. Ange had experienced 2 NLD but clearly didn’t expect this from our supporters. Also, what we want doesn’t impact the result, so this whole chat is irrelevant. If Spurs fans got want we want the last 35 years would have looked very differently. It’s awful that we’re put in these ridiculous situations in the first place and now we’re getting the blame for them arising! We have enough problems and the game is done so let’s just move on. However given I would prefer they did not win the league I am damned if I want Spurs to lose to facilitate that.
I believe there is a chance that we now could fail to get the point we need for 5th place but the attitude of a LOT of Spurs fans may well leave the players thinking "Whats the bloody point" I hope not and if I was a praying man I would pray not.

With respect, I disagree with Lee Wilmot and numerous fans. I have been a fan since 1962, and what Arsenal do or do not do is not that important to me. I certainly would not want our great club to be tainted with trying to lose. This is almost a type of match-fixing.

We do need to change as a club and it will take time problem is that a lot of supporters don't have any patience anymore . I would be happy to see next season as a further step in the re-build . With more Ange wanted players coming in and deadwood going out . A good run in a cup or Europe would be a nice to have as well but that is down to luck .

Good vid guys, some really good points made again and I also thought we played well but just wasn't clinical with some chances. Now on all this media circus about the atmosphere, the fans, anges comments .... For me this is all linked, so from my point of view we've had 24yrs of football failure from these owners that are not interested in winning trophies! Which brings me to us the fans on the night, because of our lack of success in winning trophies under this regime, that 24yrs of failure has filtered through this fanbase which has been starved of celebrating anything, so the fans took it on themselves to celebrate a loss to stop our arch rivals from winning the title which is the next best thing.
Then you have anges comments again another manager under this ownership again echoing previous managers comments questioning the mentality of our club and fanbase! There's 1 constant entity in all of this and it's still there at the club ... LEVY! .... we've had proven winners and every type of coach/manager under his regime and they have all gone whispering the same problems that ange is starting to come out with. until LEVY has gone its groundhog year every year. Amazing how 3 people in a crowd of 60k+ jokingly doing the Poznan has rattled so many rival fans, while the media are talking like it was all Spurs fans. Nobody allowed to have fun and make the best of a bad situation anymore. This is such a rare situation Spurs fans have been put in with the timing that the amount of coverage plus Ange’s outburst is so over the top it’s ridiculous. Fans will take joy in dark times at the expense of rivals failing when they’ve been dealt a bum hand. That this is being discussed as abnormal makes no sense, not every club can be a City or even an Arsenal: only the players, manager and the owners can change that, no amount of fans wanting to win will change that.

Same as we have had abuse and ridicule like when we were 3-0 down in the NLD when WE could have stopped them... It was a horrible situation. I wanted us to win but loosing had it's bonus. All the naysayers are worried about is bragging rights down the pub, they want to be able flood social media goading gooners, good fun, but that's all it is and nowhere near as important as Spurs doing well. Even worse, the fans didn't even notice that despite the result Ange out coached Guardiol, changed tactics and got the team playing really well.

I think everyone who is saying that Spurs 'played the best for quite some time' is unintentionally being swayed by the fact that Spurs fan did not want Spurs to win the game. I don't think Spurs played that much better than they did against Liverpool or Arsenal. Spurs are just well-suited to playing against City. Arsenal are very defensively sound and played on the counter attack. City left a lot of spaces. Liverpool was at Anfield and they're better at pressing than City.
Spurs did not play exceptionally well against City. They played well and lost, just like they did against Liverpool and Arsenal.
