They should ditch the "Alpine" name and go back to Renault or come up with a totally new team name or title sponsor name. "Al Peen" as they pronounce it is just weird sounding.
Renault yes, Alpine no. The only time I have ever seen one was at the Le Man 24h and that's cause there was a parade, not because anyone was actually driving on in real life
Mercedes was holding Antonelli announcement back because Sainz was option for Williams… Now they are negotiating for engine with Alpine and I’ll bet you a seat for Antonelli while they are trying to get Max into the championship contending car… They will end up with Bottas or Vettel or Perez in MB
If Doohan does get the seat, at the very least, he's already imbedded in that mess, and so it won't be such a shock to his system dealing with management, and he'll definitely cut his teeth at that team dealing with the worst of the worst at the moment in terms of management. Alpine is just a dumpster fire, and at this point, now is the time to hire, fire, and try anything and everything to right that ship, because new regs are coming and this needs to be sorted before 2026 (look at me being delusionally optimistic for them).
Doohan would be awesome! would love to have some more Australians on the grid and he really seems to know his stuff when he has been on broadcast for the f1. similar to Alex Albon in the way he explains things with a high understanding
Magnussen to Alpine would make more sense than getting a young driver like Doohan with no experience. Since the team has a lot of internal issues a experienced driver like Magnussen would make more sense. He has been in the team in the past which can be a advantage as well
