It's something I've noticed in the more toxic MLM reps recently as well. Someone who has no accent or a southern California accent breaks out in a deep souther accent and y'all's when they get on their pitch. After leaving that sect, he’s been enjoying playing some good ol tunes and learning some new-to-him oldies. There’s nothing good or sustainable about rules like that that make no sense.

I grew up in the Jehovahs Witness cult and we weren’t allowed to do pretty much everything. No sports, no school dances, no pop songs on the radio, no friends outside of the cult, no holidays or birthdays. It was a miserable life.

You are right. I believe the Bible can be summed up in two words, Be Humble. The Bible makes it clear that humble people will be most blessed and God hates pride, which leads to sin, and I think it's the worst sin. But somehow pride is acceptable among Christian circles.

Not arguing for one side or the other. Love B. I think the idea of yoga, meditation, etc. can be a good thing in your life. I know that yoga can help with chronic pain and your overall mental health. In my opinion, I think it depends on intention. From my understanding yoga is originally a form of worshipping an entity other than God which would violate the first commandment. Also with the horror movies, I think it goes back to guarding your heart and making sure that you are introducing things that glorify God. However, I think that is a discernment issue for each individual person. It depends on your maturity in Christ and what you feel is appropriate in your walk with God. Things are left vague for us to search our own hearts. I don't like that Brittany Dawn tries to shame people into believing the same things she does. That has NEVER worked and each individual has to decide what will strengthen their individual walk. Hope this makes sense! :)

I think it’s a lot more complex than my joke or that singular phrase can convey. He did say to give unto Caesar what was his but that was a cleverly worded answer. At that time, Roman rulers had a HUGE hand in how the Jewish temple was run. They appointed high priests who would be favorable to Roman rule. So when Jesus spoke out against certain things that were happening/disagreed with religious leaders he was also going against Rome. Plus kind of a fun fact is that he was technically sentenced to death for sedition. So while Jesus wasn’t running around trying to join more extreme movements against Rome, I think when you read between the lines you can see the subtle ways he was going against them imo.

He wasn’t directly seeking conflict with them but did strongly condemn them for their poor practices and false teachings. Here’s where I disagree. Pilate himself initially cleared Jesus of trying to undermine the government, something he was falsely accused of by religious leaders. Pilate gave into pressure because of the crowds he wanted to please. They put a “crown” on Jesus head made of thorns and wreaths to mock Jesus for those same false accusations. If you believe that Jesus was trying to undermine the Roman government, you’re more in line with the religious leaders who falsely accused Jesus and wanted him dead than you are with Jesus’s actual teachings. Jesus said that he wasn’t apart of the world and came to proclaim God’s kingdom. A direct statement against accusations that he was politically involved. If your take after examining scriptures is that Jesus was political, It’s biblically inaccurate. I respect you but you say your channel is here to debunk “harmful Christian myths”. You do it well by showing people inaccurately applying scripture to make a point. This time, I feel like you did that here. That makes you apart of that problem. I was raised in a baptist church that did not allow dancing. So if you got married there was no father daughter dance or anything. Women could not talk infront of or teach any class over adult men. Women could teach kids or other women.
I understand why a lot of Christians don't like manifestation, or the new agey version since manifestation really means to speak words out loud. Some girls I knew from school would say "speak unto the universe and it will give you what you want." I disagree with THAT aspect, and I believe God gives us what we need over what we want. I just keep asking the question (literally outloud in my office) why are people still following this person? I am a Christian (raised So. Baptist) have been since the age of 6--what she is saying about Christianity, Southern Baptists, a relationship with God, isn't even accurate and is totally out of line with the authentic Christian experience--plus, the "religious" oppression she is referring to, while totally valid, is so incredibly outdated with what Christians and all other people of all different faiths are actually facing today. And those types of things she is calling "challenges", are superficial, privileged "problems" and again, so out of touch with what's actually happening in the world. I’ve never made a real so I’m not 100% on how it works. But the first part where she admits to wearing a filter it says “shiny foxy” as the filter being used. Then in the second part where she is “not” using a filter it also says “shiny foxy” as a filter… ALSO she says she doesn’t use bronzer or contour just foundation, concealer, powered, and then mascara and lashes. If that’s true how does she have a bronze glow and her face has dimension and contrast as if she is wearing bronzer and highlight… girl if you’re gonna lie (which is a sin) then maybe you should be a little more discreet and clever about it
you're 1000% right! instagram is trying to be more "transparent" from backlash about false advertising with brands, so now they disclose whenever a filter is used. Shiny Foxy is the filter used on her reel! I've done work for Instagram and Spark (a company who makes those filters) and can tell you a lot of the makeup features are used on that filter.
She reminds me a lot of Sadie Robertson. She constantly is talking about how to live as a better Christian and shame people, but with issues like modesty and makeup, she consistently defends that she is not being sinful just because it's something she personally does. I don't think it's sinful for her to wear cute shorts or wear a face of makeup, but the hypocrisy kills me. 😂😂
Also, there ARE places in the Bible telling you that you can't wear makeup. It's in specific contexts and lots of Christians, such as myself, don't believe it applies today. But it is in the Bible. (1 Timothy 2:9-10)

For the yoga thing… when speaking with ppl who used to practice that and new age spiritualism, after their conversion to Christianity they spoke strongly against it because it has pagan roots that are linked to sun & other forms of worship. Christian’s have since tried turning it into holy yoga but secular teachers say you can’t make yoga “Christian.” Some Christians then try to separate the spiritual aspect of yoga from the physical yet yoga instructors say you can’t do that because they’re intertwined while you practice it. I don’t recommend Christians do yoga either but i certainly don’t defend Brittany Dawn because i know she’s simply a scammer

I think it’s a lot more complex than my joke or that singular phrase can convey. He did say to give unto Caesar what was his but that was a cleverly worded answer. At that time, Roman rulers had a HUGE hand in how the Jewish temple was run. They appointed high priests who would be favorable to Roman rule. So when Jesus spoke out against certain things that were happening/disagreed with religious leaders he was also going against Rome. Plus kind of a fun fact is that he was technically sentenced to death for sedition. So while Jesus wasn’t running around trying to join more extreme movements against Rome, I think when you read between the lines you can see the subtle ways he was going against them imo.
@@BHaney I sort of see where you’re coming from. Jesus referenced the Bible accurately while the religious leaders made up their own rules. He wasn’t directly seeking conflict with them but did strongly condemn them for their poor practices and false teachings.
Here’s where I disagree. Pilate himself initially cleared Jesus of trying to undermine the government, something he was falsely accused of by religious leaders. Pilate gave into pressure because of the crowds he wanted to please. They put a “crown” on Jesus head made of thorns and wreaths to mock Jesus for those same false accusations. If you believe that Jesus was trying to undermine the Roman government, you’re more in line with the religious leaders who falsely accused Jesus and wanted him dead than you are with Jesus’s actual teachings. Jesus said that he wasn’t apart of the world and came to proclaim God’s kingdom. A direct statement against accusations that he was politically involved. If your take after examining scriptures is that Jesus was political, It’s biblically inaccurate.
I respect you but you say your channel is here to debunk “harmful Christian myths”. You do it well by showing people inaccurately applying scripture to make a point. This time, I feel like you did that here. That makes you apart of that problem. It’s a harmful idea to present that Jesus’s charges had any claim.

Baptist) have been since the age of 6--what she is saying about Christianity, Southern Baptists, a relationship with God, isn't even accurate and is totally out of line with the authentic Christian experience--plus, the "religious" oppression she is referring to, while totally valid, is so incredibly outdated with what Christians and all other people of all different faiths are actually facing today. And those types of things she is calling "challenges", are superficial, privileged "problems" and again, so out of touch with what's actually happening in the world. I just don't understand where her audience is coming from and what value they are receiving from this content?
I’ve never made a real so I’m not 100% on how it works. But the first part where she admits to wearing a filter it says “shiny foxy” as the filter being used. Then in the second part where she is “not” using a filter it also says “shiny foxy” as a filter… ALSO she says she doesn’t use bronzer or contour just foundation, concealer, powered, and then mascara and lashes. If that’s true how does she have a bronze glow and her face has dimension and contrast as if she is wearing bronzer and highlight… girl if you’re gonna lie (which is a sin) then maybe you should be a little more discreet and clever about it
you're 1000% right! instagram is trying to be more "transparent" from backlash about false advertising with brands, so now they disclose whenever a filter is used. Shiny Foxy is the filter used on her reel! I've done work for Instagram and Spark (a company who makes those filters) and can tell you a lot of the makeup features are used on that filter.
She reminds me a lot of Sadie Robertson. She constantly is talking about how to live as a better Christian and shame people, but with issues like modesty and makeup, she consistently defends that she is not being sinful just because it's something she personally does. I don't think it's sinful for her to wear cute shorts or wear a face of makeup, but the hypocrisy kills me. 😂😂
Also, there ARE places in the Bible telling you that you can't wear makeup. It's in specific contexts and lots of Christians, such as myself, don't believe it applies today. But it is in the Bible. (1 Timothy 2:9-10)

For the yoga thing… when speaking with ppl who used to practice that and new age spiritualism, after their conversion to Christianity they spoke strongly against it because it has pagan roots that are linked to sun & other forms of worship. Christian’s have since tried turning it into holy yoga but secular teachers say you can’t make yoga “Christian.” Some Christians then try to separate the spiritual aspect of yoga from the physical yet yoga instructors say you can’t do that because they’re intertwined while you practice it. I don’t recommend Christians do yoga either but i certainly don’t defend Brittany Dawn because i know she’s simply a scammer
