Hi bro, So how is read the word when it comes to this is… when we are born again (saved by grace through faith in Christ) our past, present and future sin is gone. “He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.” Hebrews 7:27 ESV And because of that we are made new and are being sanctified (made more like Christ) and until we are gloried will never fully be free from sin, however we are free from its wages. Believers sent sinless but the sin-less. So that said repentance for the child of God is a coming to our father and confessing and bringing forth our sin from a Place of relationship and a conviction of sin not just to list our sins out of duty. Christian’s should grieve when we sin and understand that Jesus intercedes for us. So in to summarise, Christian’s still sin absolutely but the Holy Spirit should bring us to repentance from salvation not for it. Jesus tell us to ask for forgiveness when we pray and pray often. (Hope that makes sense and helps)
It is a refining process - Jesus is the potter, we are the clay. He works to refine and mould us as we take each step. The Lord lovingly chastises those whom are His. I love a quote from Charles Spurgeon - "Sincere repentance is continual. Believers repent until their dying day."
