this video along with another from Garrett Seesing helped me diagnose my non start.
I bent the clip inside ( no screw ) and tightened the loose spark plug wire ( loose at the coil. )
Finally started but I still think I need a new spark plug wire and boot ( will upgrade to NGK red. )
    Thank you.

When I removed the screw, the spring and resistor also came out. Which order do they go back in? Resistor first, then spring, then screw?? Thanks for the video!

Hello john when you put them back inside first place the spring them the resistor and at the end put the screw

Spring -> resistor -> screw. That’s so helpful. Thank you!!

I have a Lexmoto Milano 50cc with a GY6 engine. I had it parked on the street while I was doing a bit of work on it -- after accidentally putting diesel in the tank, don't ask! I had the fender off on one side because I was cleaning the air filter, I covered it and left it on the street overnight while the air filter dried out. Unfortunately someone knocked the bike over and the cover flew off, it landed with the air filter side up -- and it was pouring rain. The air filter box was wet, so I'm assuming some water got into the engine through the intake. But there was no visible damage to the bike. I put it upright and noticed a bit of shiny residue in the road -- maybe fuel, or oil? Now the engine won't turn over -- I get a click out of the starter, but that's it. And oddly, the kick start lever is completely frozen in the upright position. It didn't fall on that side, so I can't imagine how the kick start might have been damaged. Is this likely a hydraulic lock? I did read about a back angle sensor that might cut off the engine, and I tried the fix -- turning the ignition off/on and toggling the kill switch. My bike does have a side kickstand kill switch, so I'm wondering if that got damaged. But it doesn't explain the kick start lever freezing up. Any thoughts?

It appears that you've encountered a series of unfortunate events with your Lexmoto Milano 50cc scooter. Let's break down the situation and address each aspect in detail:
Diesel in the Tank: Accidentally putting diesel in the fuel tank can be problematic for a gasoline engine like the one in your scooter. Diesel fuel has different properties and combustion characteristics than gasoline. It can lead to poor engine performance, misfiring, and difficulty starting. If the diesel fuel was not fully consumed, it might have affected the engine's ability to run smoothly remove any diesel fuel from the tank and clean carburetor is a good idea.
Air Filter and Rain: While working on the scooter, you had the air filter removed, and you left it outside covered overnight to dry. Unfortunately, rainwater could have entered the air filter box, leading to a wet air filter and the possibility of water entering the engine through the intake. Water in the engine can disrupt combustion and cause damage if not addressed remove sparkplug and spin the motor without sparkplug for 2 minutes to eliminate water or diesel from chamber of combustion
Bike Knocked Over: The scooter was knocked over, with the air filter side facing up during a rainstorm. This scenario could have allowed rainwater to enter the air filter box and potentially reach the engine through the intake tract.
Shiny Residue: The shiny residue on the road could be either fuel or oil. It's important to determine the source of this residue as it might provide clues about the scooter's condition after the fall.
Engine Won't Turn Over: When attempting to start the scooter, you hear a click from the starter but no further engine action. This suggests an issue with the starter system, which could be caused by electrical problems or mechanical obstruction.
Frozen Kick Start Lever: The kick start lever being frozen in the upright position is puzzling, especially since the scooter didn't fall on that side. It's possible that the scooter's fall could have jolted or impacted the kick start mechanism, leading to this unusual behavior.
Hydraulic Lock Possibility: A hydraulic lock occurs when a fluid, in this case, water, fills a cylinder and prevents the engine from turning. If water entered the engine through the intake, it could potentially cause a hydraulic lock, making it difficult or impossible to turn the engine over.
Back Angle Sensor and Kill Switch: The back angle sensor is designed to cut off the engine if the scooter falls beyond a certain angle. You attempted to reset it by toggling the ignition and kill switch, which is a good troubleshooting step. However, the frozen kick start lever doesn't seem directly related to this sensor.
Given all these factors, it's a bit challenging to diagnose the problem accurately without a hands-on inspection. It's recommended to have a mechanic or someone knowledgeable about scooters take a look at it. They can assess the damage, check the electrical system, and determine if there's water in the engine. They can also investigate why the kick start lever is frozen and whether any switches or components got damaged. Thank you for watching my video

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. I have had a bad streak. I've never put diesel in a petrol vehicle before and I'm not sure how I made that mistake! But for that the bike wouldn't have been on the road to get knocked over as I normally keep it on my own property. Just it was easier to drain the tank and do the maintenance work with it parked out front. I live in the city and parking is tied on our road and I think someone got angry that my bike was there taking up a spot. I am going to have the bike towed up to the garage where I bought it next week, I think the problem is beyond my repair capabilities! Can you think of any one thing that might have happened when the bike fell that caused both the starter not turning over and the Kickstart lever locking? Otherwise both things happening right after the bike fell really is puzzling as you say. I'll let you know with the garage has to say! And many thanks for your videos. They've been really helpful to me as I've been troubleshooting the diesel issue. Thanks again!.

Hello my friend I think is possible but you could lower the voltage to the spark plug because this chinese stator do not produce lots of voltage but not sire because I never try to do that and I never test so the best thing to do is just try and see

I need help! My Gy6 Scooter (BMS Heritage 150) will only start if I bridge the two posts on the starter solenoid. Once started it runs perfectly. Electric start and kick start do not do a thing, wont even attempt to turn over. I replaced the started solenoid and no better.

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  3 года назад

Hello try to check the fuse at the battery also try to see if you are getting voltage to the solenoid with a multimeter from the starter bottom at the solenoid sometime corrosion get inside the starter button and you need the change the switch or just clean that with Spray Contact Cleaner amzn.to/3aTbhgU I hope this can help you

Corroded terminals on the solenoid, mine was faulty the copper coil inside the connections snapped so I had to resolder. If ur solenoid just clicks and nothing else means solonoid is working a charm. Check starter motor ground
