Video Equipment - Camcorder : Panasonic VXF1

The next instalment of my video equipment series, this time looking at Camcorders and why I chose the Panasonic VXF1. As per my action camera video this was filmed as part of a longer take which I've chopped up to make it easier to search/watch but does men that the end is a bit abrupt! Next time drones and aerial videos so look out for that one!

When I first recorded videos some 20 years ago I used a Sony camcorder. It was brilliant, it did everything I wanted, the only drawback was everything was on tape back then. Then when I got into doing RUclips and started really focusing on my channel in 2017 I brought a Nikon D5600 as my local camera shop recommend it to me. It's been the main camera I use on most video, but looking back I wish I listen to my gut instant and brought a camcorder instead. Don't get me wrong the DLSR gives some excellent footage, but it can be a real pain with lenses and stabilization 👍

Yeah I never had a tape camcorder but had an early ‘micro drive’ one (kind of like an iPod hard disk) which was great but got overtaken technology-wise when HD came to be standard. Your vids look great with the DSLR 👍 I think it’s the way to go for the best footage but I’m always in a hurry so convenience rating is important to me 🤣

This camcorder(I own three) is perfect for travelling and documentary work.
Its high quality, easy to use and takes little space.
