Bullit Bluroc (Bluroc Legend) 125 - 1000+ Mile Update and Farewell!
After more than 1000 miles and over a year of ownership I give an update on how the Bullit Bluroc 125 has been. Spoiler alert - it's mainly been pretty good! A cheap and cheerful way to get on two wheels and learn your craft but maybe not a good longer term proposition due to the speed/performance and cheaper build quality. As mentioned in the video it's time to move on from the Bullit to a bigger bike but I'm sure it will provide many more miles of smiles for the new owners and its a fond farewell rather than good riddance and it will be missed whilst I'm without a bike for a few months!
Also, anyone in the local area interested in getting CBT or full license then I can recommend Andy who...

Stick around to the end for a teaser of the upcoming adventure!

    I had and again have my 69BGT, Primrose. I bought it new in 1969 from the factory ($2405 US), drove to North Africa, all around Europe, shipped to the USA, drove it around all summer and sold it. Found the same car 52 years later and again have it in my garage. It had sat in a pole building for ~30 years and took about everything except body and glass. Had a street performance engine built and recently installed and overdrive thansmission.

    Well done on passing your tests 😎👍🏻 I passed a few months ago and also did lessons on an MT07. Apart from power and speed, the balance when doing slow manoeuvres was a real eye opener which makes you question why 125's are the L limit.😮 I sold my Bluroc Legend for £1100, a 22 plate with 4.5k miles. I bought a 16 plate Kawasaki ER6F which is similar in MT07 power. However, after a few months of riding it , doing the type of journeys that I had in mind in the first place (Peak District bimbling) it's too much power 😮 I'd be looking at something smaller capacity, like the Royal Enfield's (350 or 450cc) because real life riding you really can only ride a certain speed anyway and I've no interest in dual carriageway or motorway riding. Funny as I had to respray that brake line bracket and the horn on my Bluroc, the corrosion is bad on them but the bikes look so good 👍🏻 I actually miss it sometimes 😢

      @granblogismo День назад

      Thanks for the comment! Sounds like we’ve had similar experiences, I too thought the MT07 was more power than I would want/need for what I want from a first big bike so hoping to get something with power somewhere in the middle, I’d like a classic 350 but might not do well on longer trips if you have to use the motorway…. I guess just avoid motorways and have more fun is the answer 😂

    Congrats on getting your full licence. I remember going from my Honda CB250RS to a Kawasaki GPZ500S, that was like night and day too. Where I got my licence in the early nineties you could have a 250 cc as a learner. I’d love to have a bike again but it’s been so long I would be quite nervous about heading out on the road again on one now 🤔

    congrats on getting rid of your L plate- and good hunting when looking for your next bike. and, by the way, having 2 is not such a bad idea... bikes tend to multiply in the shed, at least mine do ;) interesting that you, too, found a more powerful bike made life easier: I do remember when I changed from my 50cc 6.25hp Zundapp to a 500cc Honda, a very long time ago. I was surprised how easy many things became just by having a bit of weight under you and a bit of power to help it along.

      @granblogismo 9 дней назад

      Thanks Wolf! Yes two or more would be great 😂 but definitely only one to start with as I’m sure my wife would have something to say if they multiplied that quickly 🤣 yeah you’re right, something about the weight and a bit more power just seems to add the feeling of being ‘planted’ on the road, very much looking forward to whatever I get!

"nearly" the same wood type and color as a '64 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud i was able to view yesterday. not as much wood, and perhaps not quite as burl as it's 40 year old almost ancestor, but nevertheless reminds me of the British luxury feel and i am hoping to love it.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences of the event, clearly the rain didn't dampen you and your families experience to much. I lived in the UK for a good number of years and went to the very first event in 1993, and was a frequent visitor. All the more due to the route I used which was the A272, what a glorious road, with stunning scenery and lovely villages etc. The perfect way to get to the event in a classic car - mine in later years was an MGB GT V8. All the best.

    Nice flavour of the event sir. We also did the three days and with hindsight you should have stayed put, as the Sunday afternoon was a real scorcher and we ended up using our brolly as a parasol to keep the sun off us😄. Crazy weather but didn’t spoil the event too much.

    I was always dealing with bad condensers. I put electronic kits on all the brits. I think the kits were about 40 bucks U/S. That was a couple of years ago. Now, I carry a basic tool kit with an extra module . It literally changes on the road in about five minutes. unclip the cap, undo one screw, replace the module, tighten the screw. nothing to gap. But since I've changed them over, I've never had to use my spare module. Thanks for another interesting video. I know it's five years old for you, but it's fresh for me, and I am gleaning lots of knowledge from these videos.

      @@granblogismo yeah, I think I might go more high tech in the MG, eventually. I put a cheap kit on this one, so I could use the same 25d kit on the Morris 1000, Austin America or the MG. I think if I discovered I had the wrong kit when I was stranded on the road that just might be too much for me. LOL

    Hi Mark, I did wonder what had happened to you and I’m glad to see you back and congratulations on passing your bike test. There are only so many plates one can keep spinning at any one time so there has to be compromise. I must say you have far more “toys/projects” than I was able to manage when I was your age with kids and a pretty demanding job. I think the law of diminishing returns comes into play at some point, I sold my bike in May as I just wasn’t using it and had just bought my MGB (now changed for an MGC) plus having the XKR, you can only drive/ride one at a time. You mentioned the members meeting which was great fun this year and I’ve booked my tickets for next year. However I can highly recommend the Spa 6 Hr Classic which was last weekend it’s an absolutely brilliant event over 3 days not overcrowded and at the princely sum of €45! All the cars you see at Goodwood plus additional categories. It’s also a good road trip, probably 600+ miles if you avoid motorways. Anyway keep up the good work. BR David

    Nice to see you back! yes, don't pressurise yourself into making content for the sake of it- do it for the right reasons. I used to upload weekly at one time, these days it's more like every three months.. as and when the inspiration is there. As for the Jag, what a car, but if you're not feeling it then let it go- there are still enough of those around that you'd find another if you felt the need. The MG on the other hand, an evergreen classic. I've been in a similar quandary with one of my vehicles- it's a bastard to work on, it needs lots spending, time and effort but after a couple of years umming and ahhing it's a keeper, too many adventures past and too many more to be had. Others I've let go with ease no matter how much I thought I liked them- it's all about the memories and I'd say that MG is way more that than the Jag! Keep burning the petrol..

    American hot rodders use a product we lovingly refer to as "Shine Juice" that is a mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits that sticks to paint and rust and works as a rust inhibitor. It's not a product for show cars (unless you are showing Rat Rods) but it stop rust for some time because it soaks into it. You might try coating in an obcure area and see if it's something you could live with until you are ready to respray. Just a thought. Still love the channel!

    Great to see you back, Mark! And the MG - best colour option. It looks to me like the middle section of your exhaust needs some support back to the chassis, as you have a middle section with two joints unsupported that will put the joints under strain? Just a thought. Ref quantity of videos, you’re exactly right in getting the balance right and is nothing to be ashamed of. When your videos come out is up to you - and they’re great btw!

      Thanks very much! Yeah I think you (and I think a couple of people who have said) are right about that unsupported exhaust, from memory I don't think the kit came with a central hanger but probably worth me looking into! Cheers!

    Great to see another video from you. Appreciate your honesty in explaining why the videos aren’t coming out too often, but I’d say not to stress about it, produce them when you can and for one will always enjoy them! Thank you for producing some interesting content.

    Great video! What products do you use when washing your car? Thanks!

    • @granblogismo
      @granblogismo 23 дня назад

      Thanks! I don’t like to take ages washing it so I tend to use a generic car shampoo (wash ‘n’ wax type stuff) to get the body clean and I might use a wheel cleaner if there’s loads of brake dust on them but what I always do is apply this stuff called Carnuaba Speed Wax by Simoniz which goes onto a clean but wet car then washes off then you dry with a towel and it normally gives a good finish that repels water really well 👍

    Totally understand the way life being in the way. Love what you do and your MGB GT is lovely, what a great burble from that exhaust. Your road trips have inspired me to have a go at something similar myself over the autumn, though it'll be a day trip in Wales rather than an over nighter.

      Thanks for the comment! Fantastic to hear you’re planning a trip yourself, yeah Wales in the autumn can be lovely since the roads are way quieter and you might still get lucky with the weather 🤞 have a good one!

      @granblogismo it'll be in my 'new' toy, a TVR 3000M, before I set on it with the spanners to do a chassis refresh over the winter. I had been hoping to do a similar trip to your Skye one over a long weekend but I'm running out of free time this year. I'll hopefully be documenting my trip as I attempt to do a bit of a vlog for the first time.

    Nice to see you back Mark. Thanks for the new video with your nice looking MGB GT. I recognize the situation you describe. The hobby of classic cars need to be in sync with the reality around; job, family, house and other things. When working under time pressure with your hobby, some of the passion, the fun, disappears. I think you have the right attitude to the videos, producing them in times when it's fun without feeling stressed about it. We viewers are waiting here, and are grateful when you have something new to share about your classics, but take it at your own pace 👍

    My 2005 XK8 has an ABS issue as well , not looking forward to the service and MOT but is my baby and I love it Keep doing what suits you not a load of people that either don’t care or don’t have the time or money to do what you do I Subed after your last trip in the Jag , if it’s gone I will still watch what you do , probably skip the bike vids but hey you can’t suit everyone

      had an ABS issue as well, turned out to be a workshop messing up some wiring. dont worry, these things respond to logic, i.e. issues can be traced and in most cases with the modern 4.2ltr it ain't the ecu. getting talked into changing it and the discovering that the old one was ok. grrr.

      @@granblogismo are you a member of any xh8 or Jag clubs ? Iv been told it may be the battery (no ) Iv been told it may be the wheel censors £45 each ( No) Iv been told it may be something on the drive shafts ( next job ) don’t know how much for that 😔😔😔

    • @granblogismo
      @granblogismo 19 дней назад

      @davidfuters7152 hi yes I’ve read quite a few forum posts on it, battery is fully charged, I’ve replaced the sensors and the wiring to the abs module, the next step is either the abs module itself or as you suggest potentially the trigger wheel/reluctor ring on the hub could be corroded which I haven’t inspected so maybe that’s the next thing! Thanks!

    What's the saying ''Quality, not quantity'' I must admit that some car orientated channels seem to put out too much content and a lot of it is repetitive - 5 things I hate about my car, I bought a cheap car and it's broken etc. but your are always refreshingly straightforward and honest Mark
