    MY brother ..... SDG custom Lure Craft taught me to use 1/8'' heat shrink on the hook eye before you do the dip 😎... works out SWEET ... no hook eye cleaning 👊🤟

      Yes, that’s an option. To me, it’s not worth the extra time. Personal preference for me

    Hey Matt, did you have any problem with your poison tail jig mold closing with those Mustad 32886BL in hooks. I just got my jig more today but it’s not closing properly. I noticed that the recommended number is 91768 on the jig mold

      I don’t remember to be honest. How much of a gap is there? If it’s not much you can force it closed and it will make room

      One thing you may try is buying the wire form for the DoIt mold underspin and attaching it to a flipping hook or spinner bait hook. Makes for an opening without prying open the hook eye on a regular jig hook

    Matt, Awesome vid man. Did you have to make a mold mod for the 32886 hook? Also a tip for you, re-insert fresh weed guard pins just before baking. It eliminates the extra drilling.

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  4 года назад

      Thanks man. No you don’t need to mod the mold at all. It worked fine.
      I’ve always wondered about that. I was afraid the powder paint would bake to the base hole pin

    • @rkramer49
      @rkramer49 4 года назад +1

      @@MattLunaFishing Let the paint cool just a bit before re applying the pin before baking. it works pretty well for me so far. I usually paint with a teflon pin, then put an aluminum one back in the jig for baking.

    good video, if the wind was blowing into the garage why would leave the door to the kitchen open. Also probably not a good idea to have mixers and other kitchen stuff on the shelf. i would have rolled that whole bench outside and had a fan devirting the wind so it would not go into the garage. Just a thought. nice swim jigs

    Best thing to do is use a small piece of heat shrink over the hook eye 👁

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  3 года назад

      You are probably right but that probably takes the same amount of time as picking the eye out.

    • @BassManStrikes
      @BassManStrikes 3 года назад +1

      @@MattLunaFishing no if you cut the pieces before hand its really fast, you have to use a small heatshrink and just push it on, heat and dip, the n pop them off for perfect eyes with no scratches etc
