The Meaning of Manna in the Bible

  • Manna is the bread from heaven sent by God to the Israelites in the Old Testament.
The word "manna" is based on the Hebrew word "man," which means "gift." The manna, therefore, was a gift from God.
When the Israelites wandered in the desert, they complained about being hungry. They felt regret for leaving Egypt because at least in slavery they had food to eat.
After the complaints, God told Moses he would rain down bread from heaven for the people to eat. Each morning they would go out and gather the bread and eat it that day.
In the New Testament, Jesus refers to himself as the "bread of life" that comes down from heaven (John 6). Instead of feeding his people with bread from heaven, God sent his son to be the Church's daily bread.

Manna & Salwa are the 2 types of food that God provides to the Israelites during that time. Manna is the sap from Acacia tree which provides much of the vitamins and minerals while Salwa is a type of bird that provides the proteins needed as food. God made both abundance to the Israelites, and when both Manna & Salwa combined, they provide the best type of food for humankind.

Look up the valley in which the Israelites were in when they were given the manna. The whole place is covered in magical mushrooms to this day.

every catholic eucaristic mass sacrifices Jesus, and the mystery of transubstantiation occurs in the round wafer and wine. But, the correct interpretation is that Jesus spoke in a figurative language, there is no mistery at all, saying that every time the believes join and share bread and juice, we would remember Jesus and His sacrifice, because no men's work is enough for God. Remember Cain, he offered his works and was rejected by God. This is rebellion against the Almighty. Only faith in Jesus' sonship can save us from eternal death.

I smell a protestant comment. I know you mean only a symbol. Remember, Jesus is shouting in the synagog to eat the bread and drink the blood. Then if that you are saying, how you can eat the symbol😊 You can eat that only thru Holy Eucharist.❤
