Link ecu storm to 1uz non vvti with audi R8 coils

The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. What's the reason you have chosen RS8 coils? Do they make let me say stronger ignition if compared with for example OEM 2uzfe coils? Thanks

The R8 are a very good option. My preference is the 3uz/2uz coil but have no issue with the R8 , which product a great spark , there are plenty of options available and relatively cheap. Customer make the choice in this case. Cheers Kelvin

Kelvin, The Audi coil pin out is +12v, Ground, Signal ground. and ? I am guessing that the Link controls power, correct? Looking to use these coils on my wasted spark Mazda MX-5...

12 volt, two earths and trigger. The trigger wire is controlled by the ecu. For the two earths one is technically a chassis ground and the other a signal reference ground, which technically is meant to be wired back to the ecu signal ground, but they work fine (better) wired with both grounds to chassis ground. Be aware different audi coils have different pinouts too.

Hey kelvin im looking at wiring up some audi r8 coils into my rb25det skyline. I know you can purchase electrical connectors through ebay. But would there be a new zealand supplier ?? ( im in nz) thanks peter. ( great videos really enjoy them )

This setup has sequential injection but if grouping for semi sequential injection injector is grouped 1-7 , and the spark is wasted spark so 1 -6. Correct. Cheers Kelvin
