I think she wrote “Warrior” after Lyme disease. Then adapted it to Covid. As the whole Head above water is about her fight for life when sick. This song makes me feel strong and hopeful. Music is magic! Our universal language.

I’d dedicate this song to my dad who survived the wrath of covid19. He was in the ICU for 12 days and he’s the strongest warrior I know. I’m so proud of him and those doctors and nurses who took care of him. ❤

Back in 2010 to 2013(or for me 2016), most songs were heavily inspirational and music was more pop themed. Even the sex songs like Pitbull's and and Enrique Ingleas were still good but they're were few. Music, starting with 2017, now feel the same without any new changes. But that is just me.

Her authenticity is the reason she's no longer topping the charts. It's unfortunate because in order for her to do so again she would have to sacrifice her artistic freedom in order to fall in line with the popular style of today's modern pop basically turning into a studio artist towing the line creatively.
She doesn't want that and she even fought RCA Records over Goodbye Lullaby's direction because they wanted her to produce that album their way but she stood her ground and was able to release it closer to how she wanted and after leaving RCA now makes records exactly how she wants. Doing so has seen a drop in her album sales and popularity going forward but it's a testament to her for keeping her integrity and evolving as an artist in her own way and produces some pretty amazing music that does deserve to be more recognized but the modern music scene just doesn't allow that without her having to take liberties with her music.

IT was a very good decision to write new lyrics, the album version was about her personal battle. This version is about the battle we have to go through when we are cannot see our friends and relatives and other people who whose company we like. Stay home, enjoy the music, and pray this all would end.

After living through lyme disease myself, my heart will love and respect avril like a sister for life due to the impact that her experience, testimony, and for both her courage and vulnerability she was willing share when she went through what she did with health. And for doing so, at least in part, because i believe she new it would help someone else going through something that people dont get unless they go through it.❤🙂

I know this is about the virus but when this song came out I was fighting for my life in addictive heroin addiction. I am proud to say I am 7 months sober and listening to her music especially this song gave me hope that I can recover
