This is the first time I've listened to this song after making my peace with God and finally accepting that he is there and cares and my God this hit different. Life has been so hard for so long, my nervous system is shot all the way through, but I have to just keep going and fighting and holding myself together, because I'm the only one who can carry my family through, the only one who can do it. So many of these songs just hit home so hard at this point in my life. Whether she was speaking to God or not, my heart is, I can't do it alone.

I started crying at the line "I'm too young to fall asleep". So many feelings put into one song. I've battled lyme disease my entire life and there have been several times where I nearly did "fall asleep", as you put it. God bless you, Avril! Thank you for speaking out and standing up for all of us lyme warriors who are still fighting!
Ive never battled that disease but i have asthma and its almost made me fall to sleep. Most recently about a month ago. Its very scary and lonely going through this. That attack i literally leaned on my friends car and begged God to let me live past that attack. I do believe his awsome power is the only reason i did not pass out. I almost did. God is amazing for sure. And this song is vert human and very emotional for me.

As someone who really struggles with anxiety and depression. This song helps to remind me that I will be okay. That I can find that peace within me on days where I can’t seem to think be still or focus. Where I feel like I want to jump out of my own body. I have Lyme disease. This woman is amazing. This song speaks to my heart. I wish I could give her a hug and tell her what a Lyme warrior she is. It's a hectic thing when you feel alone in this world and, someone like Avril Lavigne was there too. Lyme is something I almost live alongside. I know it's there in my body to flare at any given time, and it does. More than I let on. It's a deep deep pain of hurt, despair. The deepest despair. But when you pass that initial ill stage you're really thankful for life and dont have to feel like you're living minute by minute...

My hometown is called the "Lyme capital" of the United States. Everybody on my block has had Lyme disease at least once, alongside everyone in my family. One of my cousins had Lyme disease so severe that until he received treatment, he couldn't speak. Even with my most recent battle, another one of my cousins said, "join the club. Everyone in my family has Lyme disease." We even know several people who lost their animals to Lyme disease.

I found this song less than a week before my 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and Lyme related Facial Palsy. This song has helped me keep my head above water as I help her though the illness. I find it just incredible to realize that she wrote this song while fighting her own battle with Lyme.

I hope your daughter improves quickly. I've been battling Lyme and coinfections for 34+ years. It's absolutely brutal and knowing kids go through this as well is heartbreaking.
