Hey! I’m thinking of doing this as welll, but I’m afraid that the Demi permanent hair dye will wash out too much. How has it been for you?
It did wash out a bit, but it wasn't super significant.

Omggg no!! You’re supposed to use the activating lotion with wellas Demi-permanent dyes, not developer … it says it on the box. Permanent dyes require you to use developer which for color deposit should only be 10 vol to avoid damage
Thanks for your comment! After doing some googling it looks like Wella’s activator is a developer. Developer and activator are interchangeable. Basically the same thing. Not a hairstylist but just going off of what I’ve learned through RUclips and other online resources. Thanks!
Hi! I’m wondering why you chose to use 20 vol when normally they say use a 10 vol with Demi? I saw someone else use 20 vol too and I’m wondering what the differences are?? :)
Thanks for the Q! I used both 10 and 20 developer because this is what I had on hand and didn’t want to waste it. The difference between them are as follows: 10 volume will add color or tint to your hair at the same level that you are at currently, whereas 20 volume will open the cuticle of the hair and lift the hair a couple levels. Probably could have gotten away with just 10, but like I said I wanted to use up the 20 volume I had.

Where did this fill thing come from? I've been dying my hair blonde to brown for years (15 years) and never once had it turn a weird color.
From RUclips videos. Making everybody an unnecessary red head. And also stylists that wanna charge people for an extra service.
Darien Shields I have the same question. Because theoretically if you have greys aka grey hair, you don’t have to fill. Then why would you have to fill with platinum because essentially isn’t platinum hair almost white lol?
@@viohleta oh shit, you're a mind reader becuz I was gonna write that, but didn't wanna write a whole page lolol. Yes natural white haired people don't fill their hair they just put the hair color on lol. The only reason discoloration can happen is if you put a blue based color over extreme yellow hair. (It can turn greenish) but other than this, it's very avoidable. It's really just a scam to make more money honestly and giving everybody red ass hair lol. 😆
