I would recommend exchanging usd for colones at a costa rica bank not at LAX. Or use your credit card for purchases in Costa Rica to get the best exchange rates. If you have an account with Charles Schwab the fees associated with cash withdraws at ATMs are refunded to your checking account. Glad you got to experience Pura Vida!

Nice video, man. I rememberwhen you used to be able to drive Conchal Beach over to Pirate Bay. Then the damn Westin greased a politician and they blocked it off. It was one of my favorite beach drives.

Not sure where you converted the USD for Colones but you got scammed with whatever rate they gave you. You paid 238$ and it should have cost you around 175$. Unless you paid in CAD in which case just forget this comment :)
