All E46s, whether it's an M or not an M, whether it's pre-LCI or LCI. All E46's are awesome. Whenever I spot one, which is rare these days, it makes my entire day. 😁😁😁 I feel as as happy as a kid seeing an ice cream truck.
E46 is the best 3-series ever made. If I could buy a brandnew one today, I would do so in a heartbeat!

S54 SOUND GLORIOUSLY It is engineered to raspy in a good way... Not raspy like 4 cylinder honda ricer

For the money of a supersprint or eisenmann, the OEM system is just as good honestly. The S54 sounds godly, can be very easily made to sound like a straight piped B16 though

Personally disagree. Hate the sound of the OEM in the higher revs. Aftermarkets, especially the Supersprint's sound much better up top.
For people saying it's Raspy. Well yea Rasp aint good but if it's a Beamer straight 6 , RASP is great. :)
nah, the tin cn sound is just extremely obnoxious, bmw's sound much better with exhasuts that produce the deeper growls like the newer exhausts for newer models
@@fargracingco.3135 The newer models all sound the same, whether its an m2 or m3/m4 or box standard 335i with pe. This had some character. Same with the older m5s. New cars just don't have it. An i6 was never meant to produce "deep growls", v8s do that.

I love the rasp.... and i6 m3 rasp is distinct and very different from Honda and bullshit car rasp... do a side by side comparison if you think differently
Its really just the s54 rasp. e36s aren't raspy

For me it's the second one because it has the rasp but it has more bass to it than the original. I just like a balance, that's all

The actually muffler and cats are still there but they were cut open, everything was taken out, then they were welded back together and put on the car.

People often think any extra/change must be better and that just ain't the case. To me the oem sound is absolutely the best. It is the most unique and sounds like the m3 is ripping metal apart like a beast! Tuned cars eventually all sound the same. The only 2 stand out cars in the sound department are the Lexus LFA and the E46 m3. Sorry guys but if you touch this cars exhaust you have taken away from one of its signature features.
I once considered options to get more per out of the m3 but they involved changing the exhaust and no amount of power could warrant losing that sound.
If you could add a dead quiet supercharger and leave the stock exhaust, just for a bit more power, then maybe...
The car is near prefect from the factory.
Not to mention the horrendous drone that comes with aftermarket exhausts which make having a conversation in car painful...

headers with a cat delete and corsa performance exhaust sounds amazing with a deep growl and no rasp, unlike these here...
i have headers with cat delete rasp pipes and supersprint sport exhaust on mine. sounds awesome. no drone at cruising speed but it come alive when you open it up

Cool engine but most of them sound raspy/tinny. M88/S38's with straight mid-pipe sound the best for inline sixes.
