    I’m just getting started and learning as much as I can. I’m trying to watch all your videos, very informative and I learn something from each one. Something I would like to ask is about something I heard but didn’t understand. Can you damage the pump by running it more than a few minutes if you’re not actually spraying? In other words if I’m spraying and go to change to a surface cleaner, is it good practice to shut off the machine until I’m ready to start again? Actually you already gave me the answer if I had just been patient and watched long enough 🙄. So since I initially won’t be running a buffer tank to circulate the water from the pump I will have to shut down the machine to keep it from damaging the pump, did I understand that correctly? BTW I have the exact same 4000/4 belt drive with CAT pump. Good to hear it has been good to you!

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  3 года назад +1

      Yes. It’s not a good idea to let the machine run without water actively circulating through the pump. It will overheat

    Instead of using treated plywood for your mounting "pallet",maybe invest in some trex deck boards to use as a platform. No wood to rot away with the chemicals and would virtually last a liftime. Do you think your setup would be too heavy for a half ton pickup?
    Look forward to more videos.

    • @powerfulimprovements

      I have used a few half ton trucks and Vans they work fine if your not hauling water in your tanks an utilize your clients water supply. If your transporting water an a lot of weight get a 3 quarter ton or 1 ton rig. The half tons breaks an suspension won't like all that weight.

    Hi Joe,
    I wanted to post this question on this video just in case someone needs it.
    On your High Pressure (3/8") hose reel. You have 200 ft total hose line. Do you connect the two 100 ft hoses with the standard quick connect that comes with the hose? Or do you use a small 3/8 coupler to join them so it doesn't bulge out too much when rolling it back up on the reel?

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  4 года назад +2

      Hi Michael. Good question. I run two hoses. 100 ft each. Connected with standard size stainless steel quick connects. The brass ones corrode quickly and become impossible to take apart. The trick to roll the hose on the reel is removing the plastic sleeves that protect the hose ends. With those removed you have enough flexibility at the connection to get it rolled on

      Wow, that's pretty cool for the 3/8 high pressure hose (4000 psi). You can join them on the reel. I really thought it was a straight 200 ft.
      Man, i do appreciate all your time and information.

    How much did it cost to put that whole rig together?

    When down streaming, can you adjust a siphon to suck more bleach? My pressure washer is like 1:7 but doesn’t seem strong enough. What is your mix ratio? don’t quite understand the % ratio.

      Derrick Bell 1/7 is hot! What you drawing straight SH? Or are you cutting it?

      Powerful Improvements I’ve tried both. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time to sit. I have the Simpson PS60843 4400 PSI @ 4GPM I believe. I’m trying to find the medium of getting the algae off but not destroying the grass. I’ve been watering it before then downstreaming. I may get a 12 v for mix and use the pressure washer for concrete and some rinsing maybe

      Derrick Bell You should have no issue down streaming. Have you done a draw test to see what your ratio actually is? That would be the first place to start then I can help you with what to use as a mix. Look back at my previous videos to see how to do a drug test

      I was thinking the same thing as it seems to be a important investment to keep these Fords running without catastrophic failures and every year is different some better than others and several sure to fail with out the bulletproofing. I had a 2001 PowerStroke what an amazing truck.
