      Just a couple of clarifications from your video. You mentioned the Pecron as having an advantage in solar charging. This may be true out of the box, but Bluetti makes a DC charging enhancer that allows another 500 through the AC input. So a single AC200Max is capable of 1400 watts solar input. Each expansion battery can use the same device so if you have two B230/300 batteries you can charge with a total of 2400 watts!
      Same thing on AC input. The Max ships with the 400 watt but it's compatible with their 500 watt charger. The solar input adapter can be used with a second AC charger. You would have 900 with the standard plus upgraded charger. If you happen to have two of the 500s then you could have 1000 watts of AC input.
      So the AC input is much closer than indicated. And the solar advantage ultimately goes to Bluetti!

    I want to see negative reviews as well as positive reviews. You said a known brand did not deserve your recommendation. I'd like to know what that brand is. When you are compensated for your time to study a product it comes across as payment to keep quiet when it fails your expectations. You receive an expensive generator for free, that is also compensation. Warning viewers of products to steer away from is helpful too. We value your opinion.

If what you say is accurate, then I would think Chris has even more reason to review it in some fashion. Perhaps he could do so convincingly just by looking at the unit's specs and opining based on that since most people have no clue what the numbers mean anyway. Just wanna throw in a recommendation in here for a longer uptime.
    When it comes to lower power consumption devices that use a charger to step down voltage, like laptops, smartphones and etc, I recommend using the DC outputs of the generator instead of using the AC outputs with chargers. This is because the chargers those devices ship with aren't 100% efficient and don't have the perfect power factor. Most smartphones and laptops these days make use of USB-C to get power and this generator has USB-C PD 100W ports, so a USB-C to USB-C cable makes a lot more sense in this case. You'll get A LOT longer runtime this way.
    Additionally, I might go as far as recommending using DC whenever possible, for a longer uptime, for example, if you want to power LEDs with this, there are 12V DC LED bulbs out there, this way you won't have to deal with wasted power in a form of a bad power factor that is typical for common LED bulbs.

Many 12 volt mini rice cookers appear to be perfectly matched for a direct connection to a 100 watt solar panel. I`ve discovered that Onite LED light bulbs and USB fans can be powered directly from 100 and 120 watt folding portable solar panels that aren`t directly in the sun.
      I`ve bought a lot of USB powered battery chargers and rechargeable radios to use with my folding panels and I`m slowly getting everything wired up for a full off grid situation like the aftermath of hurricanes or national emergency. I have FINALLY been able to get the beginnings of an off grid solar system for a small air conditioner now that LiFeP04 battery prices have came down. But now I need more solar panels which I`ll have to buy as I can afford them one at a time. Parts are so expensive that getting backup inverters and such is nearly impossible on a fixed income.

    Thanks for another informative prepping video. I agree that this Pecron is enticing for many, including myself since I've been comparing most to the Bluetti AC200Max. However, I feel that there's one technical detail you didn't focus on that eliminates this as an option for me and perhaps others. The Voc is only between 32-95V. That limits this to only four 180W panels with an open circuit voltage of ~22V each. The 1200W of PV input is not technically accurate since it includes using 600W of AC input, per the Pecron site. By comparison, the AC200Max can handle 10-145V. It is still much cheaper than the Bluetti and 4 180W panels might be enough for most people's needs. Keep up the great work and thanks for being so up-front about your reviews and the compensation for the reviewed products.

      There are two 600w mppt inputs on the device and a 100w solar input as well for up to 1,300 watts solar. High voltage is better for a longer distance to your solar panels due to a lower voltage drop. But 2 mppts at a lower voltage is better for shading because the shading of one 600w area won't lower the total input power from the second 600w array. You could also have the 2 arrays point in different directions, like two sides of a tiny home.

    With the current state of features being promoted by other power generator, I would add the UPS feature as an important feature for the preparedness community. My number one asset is to automatically protect the frig and freezer at any instance of time. Since the Pecron does not have a build-in UPS, I would place it on a second tier but recommended product since it's a capably solution but only after I bring it out and turn it on. The cost of the expansion battery will be another consideration. Since it's not available at this time, you cannot properly evaluate the economics of the system.

    How many watts do your wall chargers pull? I'm seeing 1200 watts from the wall and only 450w going into the power station. Seems EXTREMELY inefficient using the wall charger!

    Couple of things to add.
    LFP batteries are quite sensitive to cold; even more so than more typical NMC cells which are bad enough, so if you are thinking of leaving this thing on the shelf of your unheated and at times ice cold garage till you need it, that may not work as well as you expect.
    Also the expansion battery packs they liberally advertise with this product remain unavailable. Other broken links on their website too.
    While a very appealing product to me, I am going to wait a bit yet.

    AC200Max can accept up to 1400W of solar if you buy the DC Charging Enhancer they sell, also it can easily accept 2 500W wall bricks, you just have to get a XT90 cable for it and you can charge around 1000W from the wall at the same time.

    How efficient is it at low load. Say a cycling refrigerator and a small fan all night. It seems to me the larger the inverter the more it will drain the battery doing near nothing. Is efficiency much different at low load vs high. Does it matter? If so, right sizing the inverter might be important.

    your advice please: in an emergency I was planning on getting the jackery 2000, so that i can cook with a burner (boil water - electric kettle 1500 watts) to eat mountain house, ready wise, valley food storage, 4patriots etc. also for phone, led lamps, a fan, maybe tv, and if possible maybe a portable ac. it's simple. do you think this precron e2000 is better than the Jackery 2000 for my needs? is there anything better that you would recommend? lastly, do you recommend other better food solutions that are easy to simply boil? i've got tons of unhealthy canned goods. thank you. great channel!!!!

    Great review Kris and thanks for adding the Pecron to the spreadsheet. Question: I had a 30 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box installed with my new circuit breaker panel a few years ago to be able to connect a generator (which I am now able to buy). Does the Pecron have a 4 prong 30 Amp outlet? Of course now I want solar rather than gas or propane since it is practical year-round in Arizona. It would be so nice to just turn off the circuits I don't need and let the ones to the refrigerator and 1other circuit get juice, and not have to run extension cords.
    If the Pecron doesn't, does the Bluetti have one? I don't think the comparison spreadsheet mentions these.

    Wow, very thorough review! I opted for the Bluetti 200 Max several months ago and have learned a few interesting things. Since i also got the 2 expansion batteries, you can actually hook up 3 AC chargers (main and on each battery module), which gives you 1500 watts of charging. Using the a DO50S DC charging enhancer on each of the battery modules allows you to hook up an additional 500 watts of solar to each battery in addition to the 900 watts going to the 200 Max for 1900 watts of solar. But, you have to spend another $700 bucks to really max they system out. If i had waited though, the Pecron would have probably won me over:)

    • @Texasprepper
      @Texasprepper Год назад +2

      The ac200max can use the additional 500 watts of solar as well....letting it take 1400 watts plus 500 more from each battery. The dc charging enhancer is only $150.

    • @TheRioNidoidian
      @TheRioNidoidian Год назад +1

      I bought the AC200Max as well, and adding the additional charging features was... frustratingly complicated. For what they charge for the unit, they should have at least included the T500 AC Adapter & DC7909 To XT90 Cable. Instead, you have to purchase these separately, and the connection setup is not exactly intuitive. Compared to the SuperBase Pro 2000 that I also got, which uses a standard PC power cable, has no brick, and can charge from a wall outlet at 1800w, it's out of touch.
