I’m a remedial massage therapist for around 25 yrs, I’ve been saying for years that I felt I should be working on the inside of the pelvis, when I have said this to vets they look at me like I’m mad, I’m so happy that there are people now starting to do this work

My mare had standing surgery to remove a granulosa cell tumor involving her right ovary. She ended up developing a seroma, which proved to be a challenging issue itself. I've had body work done on her several times throughout the recovery process, when it was safe to do. I still am concerned with helping her work through additional healing processes.
This interview is such a help pursuing additional support for my mares recovery. Thank you!❤

Such a good interview. Pain is always my first thought with behavioral issues...and I know darn well we cannot always know where it is inside. I've lost count of all the horses I've heard others say it's in my imagination, and finally found someone who proved it wasn't. Especially with mares who can have hormonal issues like female humans, much less the reproductive organs. I went thru 3 chiros to finally find the last one who told me her first rib was out. He sedated before adjusting.
But, I cannot agree with you more that I want to know everything about my horse, because they cannot talk.

Our horses can 100% tell us how they feel. We just have to remember how to listen directly to them more than any practitioner.

What if the mares didn't want to be bred?

Have thought my gelding had casteration scaring ....perfectly describes his secondary issues .. this is so hopeful, an gets down to the actual cause .. I think it's hard to stomach the cost. conventional veterinary practices that treat mainly secondary issues .. It always leaves me with that gut feeling of somethings not quite right with the treatment I'm choosing for my horse.

Many of these issues are human created. If you want to help your horse stop doing the activities that are harming them in the first place for your own pleasure or desires.

Where can I find the show notes? I'd love to find an Osteopathic Dr for my mare ❤ I've often thought she may have issues with her ovaries and now I'm thinking my hunch may be correct!

Yes. We have another episode coming out on Osteopathy and we will have even more links and resources but in the mean time here’s a link to source an Osteopath near you. Worldwide Alliance of Equine Alliance
      www.equineosteopathy.org/
This is an organization Jessica (our upcoming Osteopath guest) and other Osteopaths are apart of that works to unite the profession of equine osteopathy. They provide education via webinars, newsletters, and they answer questions via email from any of the public or members!

Did you mention that show notes would include a list of other providers/vets? I'd love to see if there is someone near me.
