- Look here, the league of legends uses cellshading graphics, but Sourses Filmmaker does not work very well with them, because the texture of the characters from the LOL look a little different. For the updated and new heroes, I had to render in Source 2 filmmaker, so they have different backgrounds.
Clint Masden the author of ported models ported a lot of heroes from the LOL, but some champions have graphic bugs, and among the textures of models from lol there is only a diffusion texture, they are in the game, but I can not say since I did not play this game. I am a DOTA 2 player, and I appreciate LOL game characters. but I prefer DotA 2 because they have a character that is detailed, realistic and has its own concept and remember, DOTA 2 keeps improving its character for the better. I do not mean to insult the LOL game, because I'm also a pro LOL player and that's what made me able to assess the differences in characters
some of the characters that were compared have nothing in common.
League is just ugly copycats versions lol
I go for Dota 2, first is character lore, like Zeus, Medusa, and Omniknight etc... they have a mythological story like Gods and Goddesses which is a great concept for the design.
2nd, they have a lot of details and facial details like tattoo, scars and stuff which tells a story btw.
3rd is minimal design, I like how they put a minimal detail but big enough to make an impact to the character
4th no fanservice, like in league I noticed that most of their female characters are a bit too revealing. Dota 2 designs don't really rely on fan service but more of their great design and they compliment with each other.
5th and last their name choices, the names match with dota 2 characters, like sniper, axe, tide hunter, lich, bristle back, shadow fiend they suit the character perfectly, unlike lol its like naming your first drawing character not a single match with their character. except for galio

I play LoL, and Tried Dota, and for me, both a good games.
Even I still play LoL and forgot Dota cause I don't really like the gameplay, I think they're both really good at what they're doing.
Dota's gameplay has a bunch of other small things you have to learn, so their playerbase has always seemed butthurt that their game is less popular despite having a higher learning curve. Meanwhile, League players don't even think about Dota.

Dota has a consistent style, Lol looks it was taken from different games like digimon, WoW, basic anime, etc and then mash them up to create a single game
you need to take into consideration that lol is older game (i know about dota allstars but we are compering models from dota 2) so some characteres were made long time ago when diffrent standards were around. Lol is currently going threw visual update and shift in what devs want it too look like. they updated 5v5 map and some champions but not all of them and some are really outdated. Also as you can see in description some lol models are outdated copared to what they looked like when video came out. another thing is i dont know what it is with dota but some characters in this video for lol have skins and skins in lol mostly dont follow lore and how the character looks like in universe so off corse it will stand out compared to champions without skins. last thing is that in this video lol characters dont have particles effects and those sometimes change everything. last last thing is in lol characters in lore are from whole different planes of existence and different locations with differing technology what i mean by that god of whole universe looks difrently in clothing and style than armored woman with some sun powers and she will look diffrent from steampunk superheroesque hammerdude.
lol will look more consistent when every character will get visual update in like 2/3 years dota 2 never needed visual update since its much newer game

I said that you cant just compare all characters from this games since lol is during artstyle shift moreover lol have some outdated models since its much older game that started with buch of pasionate people who were not the best of bests not with huge team founded by gaming biggest and most succesful company(dont even try to say anything about og dota or dota all stars here because we are not compering them with lol but dota2). While you're in All Pick Mode, you can find your heroes by simply typing their name, hence Valve needed to simplify it by using their titles in order to prevent players to find their heroes late (Consequently you'll lose gold coins as a penalty for delaying the time as you find your designated hero). Otherwise, you need to find a complex name such as Mogul Khan, Tresdin and etc.

Well, due to petty grudges nobody bothers to create Champions to Source engine. LoL community would really enjoy SFM since it's simple and attracts talented people.

XD my first reaction when I went from LeL to DatO. I came to appreciate its individual features though after a while. DotA is generaly unique in comparison to most other MOBAS on the market. Its liberal platform and multi-layered gameplay somehow spoils us into thinking any game without these features is automaticaly bad. But the game's shortcomings are obvious. For example Lel implements way more seamless, fast mechanics that prioritize reaction and intuition over foreplanning and resource management. Dota feels a little clunky in that regard. But yeah LoL still has some way before it catches up in terms of raw quality.

I tried LoL recently, though I understand the fame behind it, until now it still boggles me how the heck some players are still blinded they are, the can't see how some characters are OP, ugly or too pretty, uninteresting and just down right weird....
For now the only thing Champion i liked there is the Reworked Morgana and Kayle.... The others are just.... 😢🤔
I guess their only edge is the gameplay, its quite easy compare to the beautiful complexity of Dota 2, so much so that it hurt sometimes...... 😅

Good greetings from Venezuela, it should be noted that if they have knowledge of the game as I saw the lol was copied from the endowment of warcraf III in essence I do not know if I'm wrong I've never played lol just seen videos but these 2 games as the lol and the dota 2 are very related in the goals and objectives have much similarity by their common ancestor clear changes the gameplay and graphics I understand that the two games are very fun if they are enjoyed correctly I am just 1k in endow 2 but when I play is the most so win or lose try to do the best but my limitations do not know if it is due to lack of practice or gross but as we all make blacksmiths do not stand out in any role I hope that people who play these two games understand that there are people trying to help play and others just enter to create a rejection environment when there are noobs instead of just insulting guide do not remember that they were once noob and another that neither play well and blame to others I always recognize my blacksmiths and I have never had any problems. i played both and i find lol easier
60K is peanut compared to LOl's 20 million active payers world wide peak. China at peak hours is 11 million. Western servers as the middle east and Africa don't ahve their own severs. is 9 million. That is being nice we don;t aactually have real numbers which could be 20 million + level.
Keep in mind that the creators of the Original Dota AllStars (guinsoo and others) left Blizzard to work for Riot and help develop LoL .
. . . So basically , he copied his own homework but had to make changes just to make it not so similar. but in the end , LoL looks like overly simplified low quality 3d Hentai, Dota 2 also took everything from DoTA like : turn rates, basic hero designs ,fog and projectile mechanic, etc. and keep the game realistic..

Not really. I love DotA2, and really, REALLY don't like League (the only thing I miss about it is playing Udyr). But the potato-playability point has to go to League.
I've got a computer that can run League at or near max settings without stutter, but gets like 20-30 frames when playing DotA2 on absolute minimum.
@Teh Vanarch not really, m8. After Reborn shit happens, my computer can't run Dota 2 cuz it don't support 2 shadders, but LoL run completely fine on middle options.

Pretty nice vid, I wonder how did I missed it when it came up. I was playing both games for a while and yeah since characters of LoL have no strict lore LOL looks much more casual & characters have less polygons since game engine is pretty rough and somehow old. And LoL also playing same more casual. Good to hear a lot of good soundtracks from old games such as HoMM3. Still the comparison itself pretty nicely done talking about visual similarity.
