As you were about to reinstall the switch on the Trend Router at 38:49 - I thought 'There's no way Dean going to let that shoddy Cable wiring stand!' - and then cut to nice new yellow ferrules installed. Always nice to see someone have pride in their work.
Grab a drink and watch the best repair man on RUclips life is great when you have a repair video extravaganza to watch cheers Mr Dean shame about the Bosch gh11 e you did your best but that's not worth fixing words from a master repairer ( Mr Dean) take it easy
I like the little reaction clips on all the tools at the beginning. Definitely hooked me in to find out what was going on with them. Not that I wouldn't have watched regardless.
Another awesome video Dean. Always packed full of so much useful information and helpful, handy tips. Even my 9 year old son enjoys watching with me and seeing what issues you will uncover. Keep them coming both repairathon and in depth. 👍🍻
Hi dean cheers for the content. I used your video on the milwaukee stapler to re gas my 18g pinner. Im a joiner not a repair man and attempted this repair late at night as i was hoping to use it on site the next day, upon opening the thing i decided i had neither the time or patience to mess around trying to send the pin forward so i released the little remaining gas and attached a cheep chinese ebay hand pump. The first press on the pump sent the pin home on its own. watch them pumps the first measurement on the gauge is a 1000psi, i put in five pumps the gauge registered nothing and i felt no resistance so i thought I'd unscrew and give the value a press to see, made a hiss so i reassembled and it now works, however the depth control now dose nothing every shot goes deep.(probably abit much pressure)I dont know if this is bad practice or a time saver for you but it worked for me. Thanks for the videos id have a paper weight otherwise
Fun fact: when Makita first introduced the DJV182 it didn't have the option to change between soft start and normal mode and customers weren't too happy about that and reverted back to the brushed DJV180 that doesn't have the soft start. After a couple of years they changed the controler in the DJV182 so it was possible to switch between modes. Also might that Trend router switch be interchangeable with one of the older Dewalt or even Metabo routers ? I've never seen one here, but it looked pretty similar from what I could tell from this video. Thanks again for the repairathon!
That die grinder is pretty rad. I like the quick release for the flap wheel, has to be better than keeping a 13mm and 19mm spanner in your pocket for when you’re changing grits often or you accidentally drop the spanners on what you’re working on lol. Or you forget to take the spanners in to the vessel… Why don’t they do that now?
Nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, which helps maintain pressure more consistently over time because Nitrogen leaks slower out of tires and tools.
You are my new favorite channel. I never thought working on these tools would be so soothing. I'd like to get my hands on a set of those long driver bits. You are the only person I have ever seen use them. Any chance of a link to where i could find em?
I'm surprised the customer handed in that Bosch die grinder as I'm fairly sure all the attachments are discontinued these days. I can't find any for sale at least nor any reference to them on Bosch's dealer platform. I've got a NOS machine sitting in the basement at work that I should get around to chucking on eBay or something.
Hello good sir! I was wondering if you had any suggestion for a cordless rotary hammer drill. I'm in the cable industry and they don't want to pay for locates but still expect us to pound rods. I'd be willing to drop some dollars if you know of something worth its price tag. I also don't expect to use it more then for driving rods. Thank you for posting your work. I find it educational and entertaining.
Great ability Dean, different problems in some tools. Please, can you suggest me a set of precision screwdrivers? When you repair small components are useful.
It would but I didn't see any 110v ones. I'll be looking on Ali express for a 110v one shortly. Plus that hammer turned out to have a more complicated backstory. Turned out another repair shop had it last and says they couldn't service it.
My Dear Brother Dean, after watching many of your videos I noticed that some of the armatures have replaceable gears and I'm wondering why they don't do it more other than they just want to make more money off of us, but they would get more business if they could and repair shops would love them more which would mean more money for them. The practice of designing products to become obsolete or break quickly is known as planned obsolescence, but there were other terms used before it was given its current name: Dynamic obsolescence This term was used by Alfred P. Sloan Jr., a General Motors executive, to describe his strategy of making annual model-year design changes to convince car owners to buy new cars. Progressive obsolescence This term was used by Christine Frederick in her 1929 book Selling Mrs. Consumer to describe a plan to encourage consumption by appealing to people's love of changing fashions. Creative waste This term was used to describe the idea that throwing things away and buying new ones could fuel a strong economy. The phrase "planned obsolescence" was first popularized by American industrial designer Brooks Stevens in 1954.
the m18 nailer that got regassed, will that just eventually loose its pressure again?, if the gas leaked out the first time then wont it simply leak out again after a few weeks ?
Thanks for your videos they are relaxing to watch and I learn a lot. I have a question. My cordless drill torque adjustment collar doesn't select the modes anymore and it doesn't click. I tried searching online but cant seem to find anyone with this issue. Have you ever fixed one of these problems in your videos?
hello I have a very serious question I was searching everywhere and it is about the gsh 11 E hammer Many claim that the current GSH 11 E model is manufactured in China, which is why it is much inferior to the German version. They may be the same but people claim that it loses power over time, the mechanisms are inferior and they even say that it is better and cheaper to buy the exact copy/replica offered by other brands that copy the model gsh 11 e If you know something about it, I would like you not to ignore this message and give your opinion.
The faults with the first one, the GSH11E, is the only downside to your videos. People see your videos and think they can do the work themselves and then screw it up. You should add a "Don't try this at home" warning at the beginning of the videos 🤣🤣
As it turned out, this was in with another repair shop somewhere in Ireland for a service. They sent it back to the customer saying they cannot service it and had not opened it. 😬😬

My favorite repairs are when you troubleshoot and puzzle out a solution.

Another great video Dean. Always look forward to watching your video's, I learn something new every time.
Great content looking forward to the next drop
Nice one Dean! Thanks!!!!!!
It is very satisfying to see these tools brought back to life, and seeing it be done the RIGHT way with pride and craftsmanship!!😊
Great video. It's amazing how many power tools were made that even experience folks out there had no idea existed. Name brand at that!
“That’s Her” my favorite response!
Ditto - though my wife now says 'There's a time and a place...' 😆

loving the longer videos.
I like the feature in the Makita jigsaw .
Nice video! thanks! BTW that trend router looks like Perles OF808 or even older Iskra ero model NR808-A.
A perfect Saturday evening's entertainment 👍
Super job‘s😊😊😊😊

Makes a copper-bristled brush from a length of flex to fix a switch: genius!

Very informative video
No way he has a paper clamp for an old Rupes.... oh
Great machines by the way...
love these vids

Top job my man.👍🏻
Thanks. Cleaning the electrically conductive soot from the Bosch would have been beneficial.

Just be honest you just wanted a look inside that die grinder as it was a unique design😉

The Rupes sander on EBay is $297 + $14 (American Dollars) shipping in the US. Looked exactly like the one you fixed.
Nice need to know info on the jigsaw. 👍🏻
Bit of moisture in the chop saw some heat in the die grinder snd dust inthe router. Thats life.

Amazing in all the world its the same the people dont read the manual or instrucctions
Great ability Dean, different problems in some tools. Please, can you suggest me a set of precision screwdrivers? When you repair small components are useful.
I'm Italian and never heard about Rupes tools😮
They are big in the auto body trade, very well known for making quality pro tools. Not a DIY tool so you won’t find them at normal tool retailers.
@@slasher9883 yeah I saw on their website, quite niche tools.
They have not dealers in Italy by the way, you buy directly from them
Eeeeeshhhhh....go get em Dean
The bang that I heard could have been from a thunderstorm in Boise Idaho area
Dean if you need to choose: wiha or KNIPEX. Which pliers brand is better?
Knipex is top dog, but also top price
@@deandohertygreaser thx for the answer. great video, keep going
Someone had an uh-oh moment on the GSH 11 E hammer. lol 😂rare moment
Wouldn't that GSH 11 E be a good candidate for an Amazon knockoff amature?
It would but I didn't see any 110v ones. I'll be looking on Ali express for a 110v one shortly.
Plus that hammer turned out to have a more complicated backstory.
Turned out another repair shop had it last and says they couldn't service it.

I wonder could you patent that Dean Doherty slap delivered to the larger Allen keys
On the geb 1000 it is geared down as it is a electric power brush used for cleaning heavy rust off
You are right. I never thought about that. A normal die grinder is direct drive if the rotar
@@deandohertygreaser The lower RPM is better suited for when you work with stainless steel. Less chance of discolouring the surface.
When you were repairing the switch on the Trent router, was there a bang in the background?
What is the grease you use?
What kind do you want to know light or heavy Grease ?
Both I guess, and where to use each
the m18 nailer that got regassed, will that just eventually loose its pressure again?, if the gas leaked out the first time then wont it simply leak out again after a few weeks ?
What the hell is this yoke😂 spoken like a true Donegal man😂
Dean, when you are unfamiliar with small parts, tap them out in a bag. That way if any flies out, you won't lose it?
opens box "what the hell is this yoke" hahahaha
Do you have to put a vacuum on that tank on the Milwaukee nailer before you put the nitrogen in?
Hi dean how often do gas a Brad/ nail gun like milwaukee
When they loose pressure. Some last years some only a few months
Bạn có bán động cơ GSH 4 không bạn
My dear brother Dean could you show us how to test a capacitor like that noise capacitor
How did you learn how to repair all these tools.
When you test the GSH11E at around 17.52, you can see two sparks shoot out of the vent cover. Armature must be chewing up those brushes straight away
When replacing the brushes, you will get sparks until they been worn down to match the armature
Ali express have a GSH11E armature for £25 inc delivery. May be worth a go.
There is actually quite a few motors and power tools parts that Ali express sell. I'm planning on doing a few other video on them.
@@deandohertygreaser yes I saw one seller with a listing with about 20 parts for the GSH11E alone.
What about that cheap armature you tested the other week? 19:00
This one of 110v
Any makita jigsaw made prior to 08/2020 wont be able to turn the soft start off.
Wouldn't this GSH-11E be a perfect candidate for the ebay knock-off armature?
Yes. But it's back story is a little more complicated.
Woohoo!
Videos are excellent pity there’s so many ads losing interest in watching
Amazon has crank, armature and brushes for 80£ 🤭 for that 11 e
But only 240v
"yesch!!!" Is that a technical term?
1 Bar = 14.5038 psi so 8 Bar = 116.03 psi
Video on old old stuff would be cool. Old black and decker stuff etc.😊
