Out of all of the 8 bit remixrs of the song I've heard, this one is easily the best. All of the others go way too heavy on the chip tune sounds and/or lack any kind of polish, this actually sounds like it would've been used in a game from that era.
This reminds me of the Batman NES soundtrack - almost like you hit the right combination of the Sunsoft Bass and the right amount of reverb. This is awesome! Thanks for posting it!
I love this so much, it's like the music has become alive. (possibly i'm gonna do a Young Frankenstein reference, so..... alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIIIIIIVE!!) Anyways, here's a suggestion for an 8-bit rendition, "Final Fantasy Tactics OST - Trisection". It's one of my classic favorites.
+ChiptunedRaijin I switched to OBS from Camtasia and it's quite a lot nicer.. does 60FPS recording, is very configurable, and is good quality. I also made a small batch script that uses ffmpeg.exe to dump the audio from video files into mp3s, which is nice for recording win7 audio without using my sound card. If this gets posted twice, sorry, google plus/youtube comments seem messed up and it's only showing me 4-5 comments at a time.
description = i see what you did there XD, this actually has a hugely unique factor to it unlike the mass of remixes this is really the best 8-bit version of this so far
Me hearing this boss theme for the 10000thrd time after a game over : *Rages in I have to start a new game because i'm not high level enough to beat Rufus and I can't go back to grind*
Greetings everyone! A couple of things: 1. I'm looking for a better screen recording program. Do any of you know of any good free ones? 2. Even during my hiatus, I was still getting a lot of messages requesting a more advanced VRC6 tutorial. I'm no Famitracker expert, but just for fun I did throw together an outline of things I could talk about, concerning how I personally do VRC6 covers (instruments I use, how to make good DPCM, volume mixing, etc.). Would that be useful to anyone?
+coatlesscarl I'll recommend OBS as well. It's free, highly customizable, and by now far superior than Fraps and Dxtory, which are becoming obsolete. It just needs fidgeting to find the right settings. Also, I would definitely love to see a tutorial from you! Your covers sound always clean and are very enjoyable, I personally would learn a lot from you. If you have spare time to do it, please don't hold back! Keep up the good work :)
+coatlesscarl Have you thought about doing a remix of something from Splatoon? It may be difficult, or it may not. It's really up to you, but that's what I would like to see.
Recording software depends on how good your PC is, usually. A lot of people would recommend OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It can record and live stream. I have used it for streams before, and tested it for recording, so I would recommend it. Personally, I currently use SCFH DSF and Virtual Dub with a Lossless codec. I wouldn't recommend that though. I'm stupid and do things the hard way, although it does pay off in the quality/framerate department, if your PC can handle it well that is.

I wonder what inspired you to make this Edit: I can't reply to your comment for some reason. But I would recommend OBS (Open Broadcasting Software), its made for streaming to twitch but you can just click record instead of streaming. Its completely free and there are two different versions. I would recommend 'Multiplatform' since its much easier to use. You can also have text, images, other media right on top of your recording as you're recording live. Very useful software, and again, its completely free!
+Anthony My initial comment was posted while I was still checking the video out in "Private" mode. I guess it makes all posts made in that mode un-replyable. Anyway, this is already the third recommendation for OBS. I guess I'll have to give it a shot.
My friend needs a new composer, would you be available for constant torture and criticism? You would have to work for free of course and there would be no prospect of ever seeing the project finished but you certainly fit the bill. Jokes aside, great work and I bet it took a lot of patience to get the tune to where you got it :)
+Lumi's (Train) Station I track all the other channels at lower volumes so the triangle and DPCM are more audible, when in fact their volume hasn't changed. The highest volume in this cover is 8, and is only used for like two notes. DPCM can also retain greater clarity with this method, since less or no amplification and distortion has to take place when importing.
Limits are meant to be broken!
@Lance Enzo ay yo, fuck you, fuck your robot computer account, and fuck Flixzone.
Very appropriate time to release this, I must say. Great job!
I just beat ff7 remake and this song is so awesome
i know it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?

It also doesn't hurt that out of the whole soundtrack, this and Birth of a God are probably those closest to an 8-bit track to begin with
I have been bingewatching (bingelistening?) your remixes from various titles and I am loving what I hear so far. Love your channel!
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying them.

Great to see you back!
This has been my ringtone since day 1!
As soon as you hear the boss theme in FF7, you know the fight is gonna be HARD.
Welcome back bro!!!!
I was starting to miss your covers.
Memories of one tediously long boss battle just came to mind.
He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack
Really man...
This the best time for this!
Yay! You're not dead! Great Mix!

Did you ever do this? I would love to see some more in-depth FT tutorials!
Yes please!!
Sounds great
He's alive!
Great timing!
sounds awesome, do you have a .NSF file? I usually do playback on a real NES.
How the fuck is this only 8 tracks?! Amazing work.
Sweet, dude! FYI, if you make it an ogg and loop it properly, one can replace the original version with this one on the Steam version of the game!
+coatlesscarl I've used Fraps before as a recording software, and I think there's a free version.

+fizzle54 I don't know how I would pull off the vocal parts, but if I were to do a track, it would be "Seaskape". I never lose when it plays.
+coatlesscarl Okay, have you done the Tetris themes? That might be cool.
+fizzle54 Aren't the Tetris themes already "8-bit" on both the NES and Gameboy?
+coatlesscarl Oh, true xD
+coatlesscarl I really enjoyed the Super Mario Galaxy songs, maybe you could do an easy one of those.
YESSSSSSSSS YOUR NOT DEAD

Its been so long!!!!
Will you do "Let the battle begin !" in 8-bits ? For somes persons it will be "Fighting"
EIGHT Months since your last video! How could you? T.T
Glad you are back!
Use OBS (open broadcaster) for recording. Its primary function is streaming, but it can be configured to dump mp4s to your hard drive.
I wonder what inspired you to make this

+Anthony If I were to guess, Cloud's inclusion in Smash.
+bubblesishot46853 I was being sarcastic, but to be fair its hard to tell lol
機の律動と同じ人か
良い仕事しますねー
good job!
I would like to see a remix of this that would be awesome
Pretty good dood.
Is it possible to have the milkytracker file?
so Dope Do More
Do you still have the original file by any chance?
I MISSED YOU CAARRLLLLL

0:51 to 1:02 sounds like a Muse song.
I would watch the tutorials. Some new graphics cards have capture features built in. Might be worth it to upgrade.
this is so fucking good T_________T
how do you get the triangle and dpcm louder? they always seem too quiet for me

I never thought about it that way, but now that you said that it makes so much sense. Thats definitely gonna help with future covers, thank you!
You mind if I mod your songs into my copy of ff7?
Not at all, go right ahead.
GG
can i use this in my video? you will get full credit
+Nintendo Kids Sure.
thanks!
