- Today, I'm starting my annual spring cleaning with a fragrance declutter! I originally set a goal to get rid of 50 fragrances and I came up short so this will be part 1 with another cut coming soon. The purpose of these declutters is to curate a collection that reflects my personal tastes and preferences. I would much rather make space for perfumes that I genuinely love than hold on to fragrances that were merely gifts. xx

When I had a bigger collection I would wear 1 and put it aside on a different table.
After 8 months I would look at the reck of the ones I did not touch ONCE. And I just decluttered them.. I had to be strict. I am a normal person with a normal job, I didd'nt need 50 perfumes.
Now a few years later I have 15 perfumes and I am much happyer with that amount 😊
I realized clutter and too much stuff gave me anxiety. Also got rid of 50% of my clothes.
U should sell some of them!!! I feel like people would love to have a perfume from u that has sat on your glorious perfume shelves.

Just a suggestion, but maybe it would help if you approached this declutter differently. Maybe you pull your favorite(s) for each occasion, time of day, category, first and put those aside as what is definitely being kept. Then take a hard look at what remains and ask yourself if it replaces something you have already set aside or fills a particular gap. If it doesn’t, maybe it doesn’t deserve a home in your curated collection.

Totally understand!!!! My makeup, hair products, and my Fragrance collections all leave me feeling overwhelmed and a bit panicky that I’m wasting and overcluttered. AND after you try or buy, it’s so hard for me to get rid of without using the whole thing, which is next to impossible when you have this much …. Yet it’s so so hard to still not get more when the “new” comes out.
I need to do a declutter as well. What do you do with the bottles that are rejected when you try to give them away to others? Can’t wait for Part 2!

Hi Erin absolutely loved this video! I typically just watch but had to comment as my heart sunk when you shared a Roja as part of your declutter as well as the two from Une Nuit Nomade as I am obsessed with that fragrance house! But I do understand Space is a priority.... as a fragrance collector I face that challenge quite frequently! 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤ In any event, I hope after watching this video I can muster the bravery to go pick some of my fragrances to declutter! And by the way you are looking fabulous as always!!! ❤❤❤
I'm with you on Carmina. It wasn't what I thought it would be because there was something SO sharp. I'm not sure what it was that I was smelling!

I wouldn’t let go of the OLD bottle. They’re always better than new ones of the exact same fragrance due to constant reformulations!

You do everything well thought out, having in mind who you want to gift it to, your mother, or other persons, i did not expect anything else, as, although the collection is to big now for you, they are so special for you! I purchased a sample of Elixir and fell in love❤❤so much so… I think if I owned one bottle let alone two bottles I would have to keep them both! Your special friend will love it!!!

Great Erin. Do it in two parts in a refine and define style. I try to evaluate things each season because things change. I too enjoy a rose 🌹 note.

fragrance is so personal, what works for some, others hate. I love Chanel #5 and others just hate it. Go figure. Perfume companies know that. I understand what you mean when you say the first spritz sells a fragrance to you. I find so many most modern fragrances just harsh at that first spritz, I just can't deal with it. I don't find the same with most Chanel fragrances however. They are pleasant from first spritz to last scent.
I have to switch my fall/winter out and then bring out spring/summer. It helps a little if you don’t like all the congestion of your fragrances.😊
I get what you are saying about TF's Electric Cherry 🍒. Cherry Smoke is the better of the two.

Boardwalk delight straight up choked me out. I put it on my sweater and then my pulse points and 30 minutes later..when I tell you I felt like I BATHED in laundry detergent. My boyfriend said it was giving him a headache just being near me. I had to take my sweater off.

Haha, we seem to be on the opposite sides of the preference spectrum; I love some of the fragrances you've decluttered - Heritage, Electric Cherry,... However, I do understand why you are decluttering them.

The "average" perfume collection is about 15 perfumes. I currently have 6 total. 3 of them are samples and of those 3 I would get 1 full size.
Do you have any recommendations for a fresh grapefruit or orange scent for hot summer weather? Some vanilla in the base would be ok. 🍊

I agree with Suma being more on the masculine side. I fell instantly in love with Click Song, which has the same depth and sort of vintage masculine feel as Suma on paper, but was MAGIC on skin. The top of Murmure immediately reminded me of a yummy discontinued Dior, “Escale aux Marquises,” and I ended up spraying that over Murmure because Murmure’s performance was lacking and the beautiful base notes never wafted up to my nose 😥
I gave All my flanker to Daisy Marc Jacobs to my niece to wear to school.
If you don’t have anyone in mind to give Roja Elixir too, I would GLADLY take it off your hands😂 this fragrance has been on my wish list for quite sometime😍

Girl I almost unsubscribed when I saw you hold up Elixir, lol. I bought it on your recommendation and am currently on my second bottle. It’s one of my fave scents, especially on summer vacation. But I’m a FL girly too so I get a lot of use out of it. The new packaging is nice, but I’m partial to the original bottle. I’m going to snag a couple backups of the OG bottles at a discount cause those are 3.4oz and the new bottles are 2.5oz, and retail for the same price 😳 And I listened to your reasoning, so I’m still a subbie lol 🥰

I'm down to just over a hundred full bottles. No longer buying things that are just a "like". Gave them all away to family and friends.
I get so curious to smell all of those perfumes! I’m really picky when it comes to fragrance, it’s hard for me to like something 😅
Great declutter! With Carmina, I have the same experience and it’s the style of ambroxan that comes across as screechy and harsh. I have the same issue with BDK’s Pac Se Soir extrait. I do love Metallique tho. It is the child of Bianco Latte and Krigler’s ridiculously priced Abracadabra.
I keep wanting to love Carmina but my nose won’t let me truly enjoy it lol it smells so heavy to me! Xx

Hi Erin I recently decluttered about 7 bottles and I still have around 35. My budget doesn't stretch much further than that, even though I've tried and tried to 'manifest' more money. Probably a good thing, right? 😅

lol Listen, I have an extra bottle of Oriana somewhere I think too but at least its in the box and not on the shelf. It depends on your collection, I feel really overwhelmed at over 300 bottles. I need to make space! xx

Erin, I totally agree with you about lychee Rose … I too live in Miami & I immediately thought the same thing when I sniffed that same fragrance at Sephora
Taif Aoud isn't for everyone it took me minute now it's a love, never tried Electric Cherry, Idole is pretty, I'm sure whoever you give these fragrances too will be very happy.
Idk why but when I imagine having a ton of perfume I imagine using one for a week and going thru all of the shelves but I know in reality I probably wouldn’t like half of the ones I owned

I love Carmina, but the Saffron makes it a fall/winter fragrance for me. One influencer describes Carmina as a spring fragrance, so I tried it recently in the warmer weather? It just didn’t work for me, and it’s the Saffron…just heats up my skin. All that being said, Carmina is a standout fragrance!!

Guidance for me is awful! This is how sad I am since everyone kept saying how amazing it is.. I have had 2 or 3 men in my life also say to me "What are you wearing... I don't like it" Please don't be tricked like I was... Its not cheap and head ache inducing! Extremely "chemical" smelling. Its putrid! Defs sample it! Both times I tried to wear it I had to scrub it off! It's hard to get it off too! Made me quite stressed
