Very good and useful review! Thanks! However, I did find the abrupt volume changes in the background music a little distracting. I might suggest more of a fade rather than a cliff. Or perhaps less overall volume in the background music might help too.
I've been seriously considering this lens as a walk around street lens. You may have pushed me over the edge to make the purchase. Thanks for the great review.
I used to have one 2 issues. 1. Mine didn’t focus to infinity and neither did the warranty replacement. Pretty bad lens flare and drop off in contrast even when shooting into an average bright scene. Although the vignetting is quite bad I personally do not mind that. Still I do have a place for this lens in my kit.
Manual focus is fun and makes you think more about composition. I'm sure the Sigma is a nice lens but I just fancied taking a chance on this and I'm not disappointed
As someone who owns the 16mm Sigma it is too heavy and too large. I prefer several other lenses over the Sigma - the 12-35 f2.8 zoom, the 14-42mm PZ, and the far more enjoyable Leica 12mm 1.4, and even though I don't have it, I suspect that the Leica 15mm f1.7 would also be a better lens to use. That Sigma is just too big and heavy.
Sorry, but I don't see any real issue with focus breathing, there are two shots that use a rack focus from near to far and the focus breathing is very acceptable if not practically non-existent, that's why it didn't get a mention.

Incredibly sharp and beautiful lens
I adore the Laowa 7.5mm, and this 6mm surely needs to find its way into my kit bag one day.

It is a great lens and you can't go wrong for the price.
Well done review. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, much appreciated.
Best review on this lens I've seen. Subbed. I was going to pick this up today, but now I'm not sure. Lol.
The shot at 11:40 and your summary sold me. I'm getting this today.
Thanks. Sorry if I have put doubts in your mind.
If you have the lens I hope that you are enjoying it.
@@allthestuffwedo I did get one, and for 100 bucks. I'm loving it for the money!
@@thelakefilms7384 Are you happy with the Price Independent Target? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Great review. Thanks.
in the BMPCC 4K is it equivalent to a 35mm?
Really useful, thanks!
Great review. Where did you buy this in the UK?
Thanks, bought this direct from, Laowa, China.
@@allthestuffwedo ah okay thanks! Do you remember how much the import fees came up to? I want to order one too based on your review
Great job. Can you hook me up with that lens hood? Where can I find it? Thanks,

@@allthestuffwedo Thank you so much. It is perfect!
A great help - Thanks
My pleasure.
Excellent review. For little more budget you'll alternatively get a Sigma 16/1.4, which is fast, sharp, leightweighted and offers autofocus.
got also the sigma 16mm/1.4 love it.. but would'nt say it's lightweighted (405g) or handy .. ;-)
But Sigma has non-linear manual focus so it's mostly for photographers.

No word about focus breathing
But it was quite significant in some of the shots
Oh well, the price is too good

4:23 I honestly don't think f1.8 sharpness is "soft" at all, pretty damn good for my eyes
I agree it's not necessarily soft in general terms but certainly softer than when choosing a smaller aperture.
Yeah, but does does it do taxes?
Yes, but only in Chinese.
allthestuffwedo hahahahahaha, well thats no help. Thanks for having a sense of humor, and a great video!
good lens. but I rather get the Oly 17mm 1.8 used.
You may be right but I a loving this lens.
