I feel the same way. The whole neighborhood came to know about a Foreigner French guy is staying in that house. I think the thief cut it to be able to access the bags. If they wanted to do something to him they had lots of chances on their property to do it.
It's good to see it appeared to be water of a ducks back for you 400 u.s, well you are way above them. Would l be right in saying they took it from your bag whilst getting your hair cut?
Awesome video Yves. To see the ruins is something unbelievable for me. I am amazed how enterprising your hosts are growing everything from hashis to food for their market and restaurant. I guess that in a small, very tight knit community like this one it would be hard to know who it was that robbed you and sabotaged your bike. I hope that you still had some money that they did not find to be able to continue your journey.
Yeah, I still had some money, and I had the good surprise that in Beirut, one ATM was actually giving USD, so I could withdraw money. And regarding who robbed me, honestly, I am pretty convinced it's the guys who hosted me and who were always with me. Most of the other guys were working during the day, no kid could sabotage my bike the way it was done, and after I escaped, when I told them I was robbed, some of the other guys were shocked and asked me if I was fine, and were saying that they have to find who did that, while the guy who hosted me was on the defensive side, and just telling me "I need to see you, where are you? Where are you?"...
And when I replay the two days, and how everything happened, for me, it's quite obvious that everything was planned from the beginning, even some of the nice guys briefly tried to make me understand that I should not accept the invitation.
Yes, to be honest, getting robbed was not that much of a big deal, but what really scared me was what was very probably in their mind. Strangely enough, I was safe as long as I was in the house of their parents. But yeah, about what else was supposed to happen, I also prefer not to think about it.
Something Ive learned in life, is that people that are overtly kind to you, have an agenda sometimes. Once I saw the pot leaf emblem and the balenciaga shirt in the first video I would’ve be paranoid of those 2 guys. Oh and believe it or not, kids take advantage of their families all the time to get a short term gain.

I think the hospitality with all the free stuff they gave you worth more than 400 usd. I may be wrong but you were in the middle of no where so they could have robbed you in broad day light even take your nike or hold you hostage. I don’t think they would go that far just to rob you. May be someone one from the group without the knowledge of the main characters probably did it. They could have done sth if you had told them.
Then ask for money before offering hospitality. He explained many times that outsiders didn’t have access to his bags, and the rack being cut couldn’t have been done by kids. The more likely senerio is that only 2 people where in on it, and they didn’t want their parents to find out. Like a kid stealing from a family member, and only taking what they think won’t be noticed.

400 usd is very little for people who do such massive agriculture - both wheat and the lettuces. Someone else must have been naughty and not these guys. The AK 47 is okay for people doing such massive business in the middle a war torn region.
Its truly upsetting seeing a place free with no police and rules can take advantage of other people whether they are tourists or not, rather than using this freedom in a positive way and showing that humans can live and be kind to one another whether police exist or not. But clearly some people really meant to show you hospitality and some just took advantage of the situation.
Yea humanity is a catch 22, government restricts, but with no government you just have to live by the rules of the strongest people in the area. If the people who enforced the rules were made to live by them, government wouldn’t be so bad. We can’t win.

Growing weed for hashish was a joke but what knows a French guy of the Dutch coffeeshop. It are the lands where Abraham has wandered and became famous of their offerings which the Romans ended.
I am more convinced they are a Roma community. Older males staying with parents is Indian tradition and since the Roma are from India they stick to those Indian traditions. Unfortunately the Roma do not have a good reputation all over Europe and now in the US. They seem to do well with having land and farm equipment etc. It could be anyone from their community as the bike was in an area that was accessible to a lot of people.

Others think that they are in danger while they carry weapons as we carry our phones When I lost the road in 2008, I fell in this area, weapons were everywhere and I was a stranger to the area I received respect and hospitality Then they brought me to a point near the main highway and said we can't continue with you, we are wanted by the government What happened to me was strange and I thought for days how these good people could be wanted by the government I had 1500 dollars for my work in Beirut and I was never robbed

There were some Estonian cyclists abducted in Beqaa Valley before the Syrian war. It was an international scandal. You can google it for more info. As I understand, it is some kind of tribal area with less government control.

btw about the footage, they could have just send someone u dont know to rob and then the footage was not enough proof to make sure it was them.

waw great Baalbak ancient city, your video is first time Isee that close, especially the Baal temple, thanks Yves, even though I am from Jordan, never visited Baalbak. it is great history
Obviously when you saw the Kalishnikov you knew something was wrong, but had you a bad gut feeling about the whole situation at any time before that Yves?
Hmm… Such a weird story… It seems like some pieces does not fit in

Yeah, the next one is gonna be my escape and all the explanations.
I don’t think they were going to harm you. Could the damage on you bike if been accidental while they were looking thru it?
You need a saw to cut my rack, so no, it was not accidental
@@KinoYves ok I understand thank you.
@Sensless he shows it. It was one cut thru s piece of the frame. If they wanted to damage his bike they could have done much more.

I just wonder why they didn’t ask you to support them 400$ after all this hospitality to be honest this hospitality equal may be more than the stolen money 😂😂😂
They don’t seems like they are thieves $400 is nothing to them according to what they have such as vehicles and farms, but it could be the boys did that without them knowing!! Be safe brother
that is what I am thinking too! It could be anyone! But they do look like Roma.

Your videos are interesting, it seemed that you knew something was going on all the time because you seemed very nervous around them. Not like you usually do when you seem comfortable. What's insane is that nothing happened in Iraq, I am actually from one of the places you visited (Kazimiya) originally, but live in Europe. I would not have dared to do any of the trips you took to the middle east.
i think iraq is abit safer than lebanon and syria newdays or maybe he went in the wrong neighborhoods of the country, this guys looks scary asfuck i wouldn't have stay 1 minute if it was me
@@HannahWade199 Most countries are generally safer than Iraq, which have had wars, sectarian conflicts and dictatorship for a long long time. I'm Iraqi i know first hand. I had a friend that supported Saddam and isis a few years ago. We had to help him understand that he was wrong by including him in our group and show him that he is wrong to hate us because we are shia. After about 6 months of us being kind and including to him, he stopped his radical train of thought
@@criticalthinker88gis13 He supported IS and Saddam? Surely they are completely different ideologies?

I feel the same way. The whole neighborhood came to know about a Foreigner French guy is staying in that house. I think the thief cut it to be able to access the bags. If they wanted to do something to him they had lots of chances on their property to do it.
It's good to see it appeared to be water of a ducks back for you 400 u.s, well you are way above them. Would l be right in saying they took it from your bag whilst getting your hair cut?

amazing how these big columns were built without cranes at that time.
They had camel powered cranes back then
Awesome video Yves.
@@KinoYves gosh, that is very sinister. I hate to think of their actual motives. I think you were extremely lucky to get away. Keep safe.
Yes, to be honest, getting robbed was not that much of a big deal, but what really scared me was what was very probably in their mind. Strangely enough, I was safe as long as I was in the house of their parents. But yeah, about what else was supposed to happen, I also prefer not to think about it.
Better title "Planting wheat with Bedouin thugs" 🤣🤣
You can see that these guys are bad when watching their kind of jokes and their responses to that.
ALWAYS be careful when someone wants to be too generous for you.
I don’t think you are right. If they wanted to Robb you they wouldn’t let you inside their home showing their families on cameras.
@@xmateinc still doesn’t make sense. If I were to rob a famous guy on RUclips in a developed country would I get his camera on my face and family’s face.

To be honest the whole story has a karmic taste to me. Like life wants teach a lesson.... 1 No free dinner 2nd the cultivation of humblenes and compassion 3rd being a man, and acting like one
@@whoismysterionguy Absolutely bullshit. What does it mean to be a man? Does not he behave humanely?!
Blame only your own self @yves for going to a place knowing that it's dangerous. If your intention Is adventure then be courageous enough to face the Consequences. Never blame a others only blame own self for poor decision making. Hopefully we learn from our own mistakes.

When you can't afford a battery for your tractor... you know the business is not doing that well...

You’ve earnt a new subscriber, can I ask at what point did you realise the stolen money? After the breakfast video?
I realized just before leaving, on the morning after my second night at their house. I never checked my money before, on purpose, to avoid having to stay with them and deal with them while knowing that they had robbed me (in case they were gonna rob me).
I kind of voluntarily remained naive, to see if they were trustworthy or not.
@@KinoYves cross that bridge when it comes to it I understand why you thought that way if you left early would’ve been suspicious

I honestly don’t think those two guys did that damage to you. It just doesn’t make sense at all. Go figure…
I find it weird how many people act like because he didn’t film is escape that he his making it up. I would think that if he did film his escape then it really would be made up. But the fact he just left and didn’t record anything makes me think he was genuinely scared. If he was lying for views he would’ve filmed the whole thing.
Why would somebody leave their money with the bike? These people were nice just accept it as a service
I think they are just pretending to be nice! I mean, they were good actors, but unfortunately, they were despicably deceived.
I actually dont think any of those guys did that. Someone else a kid or a refugee may have done this. And the reason he asked you wich way u go os maybe because they wanted to drive u to that place. They would never show themself in the video if they had any plan like that. Because what if u posted the films to your country ever night. Than ur family will know who killed u or who did this to u. I seriously think its not them.
Exactly what i said too
@Danny Al robbed him out of your mum's basement...? Relax.
It just means that your intuition is blurred and you are generally ''blind'' and naive
It looks like you are really scared and didn’t know how to cut it short . You just kept on giggling. The way you laugh is obviously showing how much you wanted to wrap this thing up and go. But it seems like you are scared and didn’t want to offend them by saying I got to go!!
Am sorry that this happened to you but at least you could’ve offered them something for their kindness - I still don’t get why they would go to this extent of generosity only to steal 400$?
Am African Lebanese and I know some of my Lebanese people could be difficult “warm blooded” but some of them have a beautiful heart too and very generous with hospitality and even if they may not ask indirectly, but morally speaking “you could’ve given at least the kids or the women for their kindness towards you”

I am more convinced they are a Roma community. Older males staying with parents is Indian tradition and since the Roma are from India they stick to those Indian traditions. I don't think it's right you judge them for stealing and damaging your bike. It's possible that there was one black sheep or someone who they do know and stole your $400 but showing all of them in your videos and claiming that they did that is absolutely not right. Think about it.
