No problem here. I want nothing to do with AI. I'll keep my 14 Pro Max and keep doing what I've been doing. We all have choices. If it means that much to someone, they'll get the new phone.

Yeah, I’m good with my 15 ProMax. It does things well enough. I also own a 14 ProMax, although it’s locked for wireless service, I love to use it on Apple Music on my Bluetooth speakers. Phenomenal sound quality.
I came here to say basically the same thing. I could give $0.02 about AI.
You do realize these phones by Google and Apple have had AI for a decade. The used to call it "machine learning" because they knew people would freak out if it were called AI from the beginning.

During the keynote when they said it’s available for A17 chip, I knew it was Apple speak for “you gotta drop money on a new iPhone 15 Pro to maximize this.” Most people are holding on to their phones now for longer.
This is not new. They even mentioned this in keynote. However, it won’t kill them to at least make Siri better for the older models.
My 1 year old iPhone 14 Pro misses out, but my older M1 Macbook Pro gets it. I guess I do 90% of what I care about on the laptop anyway...

Samsung will be a paywall at end of 2025 n tried to hide this fact. Not defending Apple but at least they told us in keynote.
How is Samsung doing with regard to privacy? Oh, they don't care about it. All your sensitive data goes straight to Google, no Private Cloud in their case. Also Googles stores your data, Apple doesn't.
How about the massive energy costs that Google servers will sustain? They will be buying much higher priced electricity on the public networks. Apple of course has set up AI to run in Apple data centers that run on renewable energy produced by Apple themselves. If it costs Google way more to offer the service, long-term who will give you better deal on the service? Apple or Google?

If u cared about privacy, u would be on graphene or use a flip phone. Also, u wouldn't be commenting on RUclips. They have very good security. Not defending Google, I use n enjoy both os. Also, if someone with decent talent wants to hack either ur iPhone or android, they will. I would make the argument that Siri should have had these capabilities from the beginning without having to implement so called AI which in all reality is technically machine learning mixed with artificial neural intelligence. I think people are really misinformed about what AI is currently. In reality it’s just another “feature” that’s been around for quite some time now and it’s now being pushed for smartphones to basically sell new devices. It’s not something you need or really should even care about.
Correct. There's nothing intelligent about the current flavor of AI. It just regurgitates existing data. When a machine can form thoughts of its own, then we can call it AI.
@joshuaBrown-is8fb ---- So let me see if I understand? You're saying Siri from 2011 could somehow magically do what Siri 2 will do in 2025? They did not have the same language models back then as now. And just as importantly the SoCs at the time did not support on device Siri.

Apple said they'd do just that with Private Cloud Compute service for older iPhones but reviewers skipped over that part.
I have a 14 pro I was disappointed that it wasn’t included in the Apple intelligence, but then I guess that’s there way to monopolize the market. I just didn’t think my 14 pro would be considered a “peasant” phone this quickly.
You also have to get a new phone to use the camera upgrades. I don’t really see a difference here.

The question is: how many users will actually use AppleAI? Especially, after the initial hype fades out.
Their introduction of the AI features on the flagship seems to be a cautious move, since a) it will allow to test the feature on the enthusiasts and the early adopters and b) consider if the new low-level devices will actually need it.
Personally, if an AI is not pushed down my throat that's not a big deal. Yet I am not impressed by what it offers.
My primary phone is my Pixel 6a but I was carrying a 2020 SE as well. My daughter wanted a smaller phone so I gave her the SE to see if she liked it. She loves the SE so now I’ve inherited her iPhone 11 lol…. I definitely have no intention of buying the latest top of the line iPhone just to have their AI features. I might but a 2022 SE at some point.

Should’ve known Apple was up to something concerning MONEY, when pertaining to the 16 lineup. It’s just ridiculous what they’re spending in advertising for this new phone lineup.
It makes sense now. I’m good with my 15ProMax for the next 5-6 years. The battery can be replaced with another one if needed.
If it can be disabled in the option menu, it will be disabled. I’m not interested enough inAI to pay for it ever month. No thanks.
Can Sony Xperia 1 VI has any way to able to erase object in photo, move object in photo, circle things on screen to google it and Gemini things to set things and find things and do things? Plus custom a button to immediately open an app?

I doubt that the iPhone 16 will have the A17 Pro - A17 Pro is built on TSMC's N3B node which Apple is _desperately_ trying to retire.
iPhone 16 will probably use an A18 built on TSMC's N3E node.
But they are using private compute so i dont understand the limitations
I watched the AI "in 5 minutes" video from Apple and I found literally zero useful things the AI would do. And a non-zero number of security and privacy concerns. That being said, I do agree Apple keeps the AI only for the newest models not because the 15 can't do it, but to sell the 16.
For those of us who are not English-ish, email help for composition is what Samsung does with its keyboard across all apps and it’s great for email to help it be more professional. Now apple has it so I’ll go back to iPhone in September for work. They could allocate storage especially if you have 256gb or higher.

Had pretty much guessed this was going to happen simply due to the RAM issue and I was stating it before WWDC but nobody believed me at first. My iPhone 15 Reg will not get these features but it doesn't bother me as I'm switching it up to the 16Pro in anyhow at least my iPad Air 5 makes the cut due to M1 chip 😅

Yall care about the AI stuff this much? Dont get me wrong it's lame that the newest best features are only available on the latest models but more companies than Apple do this. Aside from that, those features aren't really gonna define using your phone or not. This generative AI wave is just that, a wave. It's really not that big a deal like people make it seem. Bring 2 days of battery life, that's an actual big deal.

I have the Mac mini M2 & iPad pro M1 so I think that’ll suffice for me since M series chips are supported👍🏾 Also I’m pretty sure the new Siri will be available going back to iPhone 11 at least. So most of won’t feel so cheated.

As you stated in one of your other videos; you hate the way that Apple does business and treats its customers, but love their products. I’m in the same boat. But I’m in no hurry to spend money on another phone.
I’ll keep my 13 for another two years minimum. AI is nice, but not a must have. I think that many people feel the same way.
Techies, can’t seem to understand that. I used to a software engineer, so I’m fairly technical; but I also realize that today’s technology is meant to sell gadgets. Some of it’s useful, while others aren’t. But if you listen to the marketing of the tech companies, you’d think that everything is a must have. Been around long enough, to realize that’s rarely the case.

Come on. First, you need 8 gigs at least to run it. Also, Apple is a business at the end of the day. All of these phones(including Androids) aren’t that different year over year anymore. You could easily go 3-4 years and not even think about upgrading! Especially with phones being supported so long. They need something to make people upgrade lol! You still have people out there with iPhone 12’s who still felt like they were good. From now on, I think every so often, Apple will add something and only support recent phones to create a super cycle. It is what it is!

Thoughts opportunity in a way for Google to double down. With so many exisiting Android devices with double the ram of say 14pro (heck this same release almost to the day edge 30 ultra has 12gb), they reach would be quicker I'd imagine?

Except they didn’t. They launched it with the pixel eight Pro, but then they gave several of the features to the previous devices and Samsung gave it to their last three generations of phones.

I have been fine with no AI on my iPhone 13 mini. I am not surprised that I won’t be getting it. However if I was a iPhone 14 Pro or 15 user I would be pissed.
I bought the iphone 15 (coming from iphone 7plus) a couple hours before the wwdc. Of course I was pissed the next day, but now that I am looking at things more calmly, I don't think apple intelligence on iphone will run smoothly with the iphones 15 pro. What would happen if you are watching/listening to youtube music and the same time using the native AI? How much impact would have on battery. I will wait until the apple intelligence on iphone stabilizes.

I have the basic 15 and I have also noticed the some case companies only make cases for the pro and the pro max .
