Who didn’t love Tawny back in the 80s? At least for those of us old enough to remember. 😂
Yes, I remember. I also remember her as the romantic interest in one of Tom Hanks' first movies, Bachelor Party. If you haven't seen, it is interesting to say the least.
a godsend to us when were teenage boys who fantasised about being David Coverdale.
She was absolutely sexy ;)
@@bandmaidfanATL And then some! Lol
She was also in the movie witchboard
The girl was dating the singer and later became his wife for a couple of years. She died a few years ago at 59.
She dated a bunch of hard rock stars in the 80's....
How I miss these days may the 80s live one. RIP Tawny RIP.
This song is full of Led Zeppelin-isms. From the octave jumps in the guitar riffs, and the breakdown that is reminiscent of several Zeppelin tunes and the use of the violin bow caps that off as Jimmy Page famously first used one.
Playing the guitar with a violin bow is peak '80s
Jimi Page was using a violin bow on the guitar in the late 60s
Led Zep did it too...
Jeff Beck did it in the 60s.
Well I guess Spinal Tap did it best when they played the guitar with the actual violin not the bow...
@@ronparsons8786That definitely took it to 11
Written by John Sykes who left the group before the video. He is British and first came to notice in a band called Tigers of Pan Tang; part of the new wave of metal in the early 80's. He is also an accomplished vocalist and joined Thin Lizzy helping to write the album Thunder and Lightening and made the group heavier then they had ever been.
Left the group is an understatement. He was fired as were a few others. David had an ego and Sykes was too good.
Sykes left/was fired before the video was released, but his guitar work was used for the audio on both the album and this video. Sykes was in Thin Lizzy before getting Phil Lynott's blessing to leave and go to Whitesnake. When Coverdale fired him, he created a band called Blue Murder with drummer Carmen Apiece and bassist Tony Franklin.. There are several fantastic songs from their self-titled debut album, but they never got too far because grunge swallowed up rock and roll about the time they got going.
I thought they were married
@@user-nr3sk8ib4w Coverdale and Tawny Kittaen were married for awhile.
David Coverdale’s voice in the 80s was the epitome of rock and roll! And as a child of the 80s I don’t know anyone who didn’t have a major crush on Tawny Kittain. For me it was her and Lita Ford!
This song is pure heat 🔥🔥 one of the sexiest rock songs ever created 🎶🤘🔥
Tawny was one of the most beautiful women that’s ever existed. RIP. And this is easily one of my favorite hair metal songs.
I have a theory that Tawny might be the most masturbated to human on Earth.
My first concert back in 1988 was Whitesnake, with Great White opening. To say it was incredible would be an understatement.
Here I Go Again. Next song please.
Hi there! So I'm noticing that this is one of your first experiences listening to Whitesnake. They were definitely a powerhouse band back in the 80s. They were also a Supergroup. This is definitely one of their best songs. A LOT of sex appeal amongst those bands too. And, no, Adrian Vandenberg does not use the violin bow to play on his guitar. It's just for 'show'. He didn't even do that live. However, one of the pioneers of that particular style of playing guitar with a violin bow was Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. A ton of great 80s "Hair Bands" out there back then. Vivian Campbell who plays lead guitar here went off to be in Def Leppard. If you haven't heard them, I highly recommend you do so. A top notch British band who formed in the late 70s and championed the 80s. Best songs from them are: Hysteria, Tonight, Love Bites, Women, Pour Some Sugar On Me just to name a few. Other Hair Bands you may want to checkout are: Queensryche, Great White, Every Mother's Nightmare, Vain, Leatherwolf, Y&T, Jetboy, Kix to start off with. All great! Enjoy!
Actually the entire band you see in this video didn't play one note of this song. All the guitar work for the whole album was done by John Sykes except for the solo on Here I Go Again. That was redone by Adrian Vandenberg. The bass was played by Neil Murray and the drums were done by Ansley Dunbar. After the album was done being recorded the singer David Coverdale fired Sykes , Murray and Dunbar. He then handpicked the band you see in the videos and on tour for the album. They were - Vivian Campbell (guitar) , Adrian Vandenberg (guitar) , Rudy Sarzo (bass) and Tommy Aldridge (drums). Not taking away from Vivian's talent cause if anyone could pull off the solo , he could. Sykes co-wrote a lot of the songs on that album.
Fiddle is Violin. Violin is Fiddle. Depending on style. The part you were looking for is referred to, I believe, as the bow.
I always tell people the way to tell the difference between a violin and a fiddle is. When it weeps it's a violin when it screams it's the fiddle.
@@aimp4598lol
He indeed didn't play the guitar with the bow, all synthesizers here. But you can check the band The Creation with the song Painter Man, who did that even before Jimmy Page did it :-)
Jimmy Page with Led Zepplin used a bow to play guitar in a song. This was a great song back in the 80s. Thanks for reacting.
I love 80s her metal. I saw Whitesnake in concert one. They were awesome. They played Still of the Night.
I saw them with Steve Vai, they taped a music video in the afternoon before the show which was cool to be a part of.
The female model with the legs is Tawny Kitaen (recently deceased) she was a feature in many rock and roll videos in the era featured by this song
recently sounds like last week, she died 3 years ago already :(
@@erroristmusic and yet one of her videos was played today. Recent is defined in my mind as less than 10 years ago
The slowdown and transition to the violin section at 5:10 is and always will be one of my all-time favorites. Flawless. Love it
Yep, it's a banger 😊😊
"Super Group"..... Take ME back to the 80's. Plzzzzzz RIP Tawny. lm 54....... Bisscute needs a BIG Hair night...! WE can VOTE on IT...? LOL
Jimmie page played his guitar with a violin wand
Biss, Europe, the Final Cauntdawn , Carrie.
I was a young man in the 80's, it was fun. This is my favorite WS song, I even got to play drums on this song in one of my bands. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Now we’re rocking a little bit and we get to see kitty. God rest her soul. Back in this day? She was absolutely stunning.
So, we went over some of this on the last one, but I just found out about a story that apparently the girl in this video was supposed to be a young, not yet famous, Claudia Schiffer, who is a German model that was one of the huge super models back in the day, but for some reason she fell out the night before, so they decided to go with Tawny Kitaen, who was the fiance or wife of the lead singer at the time.
I guess as a teenager, she was dating the guitar player from the band Ratt, and they used her in a video and some album covers. Which put her on the map. Somehow she eventually ended up married to the lead singer from Whitesnake for a couple years, and was in both of the videos of their's that you've seen so far, and actually, also the video for "Here I Go Again", which, for me personally, is the more iconic Whitesnake song and video.
She was a model and actress back in the day, who was apparently known for being pretty wild. I remember her being on a TV show at one point, and some other random acting roles here and there, but she was probably most famous for being in the Whitesnake videos. Later, she was married to a baseball player, and in the end, the cops had to show up to their house when they were having a huge fight, and she was arrested for beating him. I think she also got arrested for Cocaine possession, and a couple times for drunk driving. Like I said, apparently she was no joke when it came to living that rock n roll lifestyle.
She lived hard and died young... She was also Tom Hank's fiancee in Bachelor Party...
She was on the short lived revamp of WKRP in Cincinnati.
The band does a very good job and video, Biss, albeit very reminisicent of Van Halen and other hard rock bands of the 70s, but that's the genre after all. The girl was Tawny Kitaen who was in several movies and TV shows too. She passed away in 2021.
He does play it with a bow. I saw ‘em live. Great show.
I do like this song. Enjoyed your reaction. 😊😊
More of this? Ratt, Quiet Riot, Winger, Warrant, Van Halen even (the DLR era), Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard... So many more...but of course Jon Bon...
Checkout Whitesnake's Fool for Your Loving.
your face, when he played the guitar with violin thingy, perfect
🤘😎 love that down and dirty riff!
Love ain't no Stranger, Is this Love, and Fool For your Loving (the 1989 version) are great songs too
Great reaction!! 1 of my all time favorite songs!! This whole album is fire too!! Love the 80's big hair bands hehe
This is the song that saved me from rap music when my cousin gifted me the tape for Christmas of 1987 ☺️👍
I was 21 when this song came out. It still hits me everytime I hear this song!
Whitesnake stole their giant snake backdrops from G.I.Joe.
The deeper the love, steal your heart away,
This era was actually pretty great...You should check out Warrant...'Down Boys'.....Killer Dwarfs...'Dirty Weapons'....Slaughter...'Up All Night'.....
Great Reaction! Whitesnake albums/cd's "Slide it in" and "Slip of the tongue " are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Thanks for covering Still of the Night.
The girl in the video is once again Tawny Kitaen, ex-wife of David Coverdale, lead singer of the Band.
At that time she appeared in several videos by the band Whitesnake.
Still of the Night, Here I Go Again, Is This Love, Fool for Your Loving and The Deeper the Love.
The lip bite around 3:20...... 😍
Love when you do these 80's rock songs! Great work!!!
Great reaction to a great song and band. I saw them in concert. I also scored a Whitesnake guitar pick. Hope you are having a great weekend. ⚘️🌹💐
It is called a bow, Madalina.
red suits your face, you just look beautiful
There are several mid to late 80's bands that were really great. The thing back then was big hair, as you know, and sex appeal. If you like this then you have got to check out Coming of Age by The Damn Yankees... You will love it :)
Yes girl he is playing the guitar with a bow 🏹
Hello, thank you Biss.
More older Whitesnake (from the Slide It In album) include Slow an' Easy, Love Ain't No Stranger, and Slide It In.
Love that you're reacting to "Still of the Night" and loved your reaction to it Biss. And i waited with baited breathe on your reaction to the bow used on the 🎸 guitar.
And of course the great line from bowling for soup's 1985, "she was gonna shake her ass on the hood of whitesnake's car"
thanks for your reaction very genuine, this is my favorite Whitesnake song, and it was so awesome to see this lineup perform it live in 1987 when they opened for Motley Crue in Market Square Arena and again in Buckeye lake music center in the same month, maybe react to slow and easy
I miss this. I miss great musicians, that can write great melodies, play on the next level, look like rock stars, and bring the women to rock with us. Miss it
Love the reaction, one of my favorite guitar solos from the 80's,also,Fool for your loving would be a great reaction video
Love your reaction...and the smoking hot woman in the video was the lead singer's wife...so I guess the band had no choice, she's was going to be in the video or else, haha. I would highly recommend the songs Here I Go Again and Fool For Your Loving. I have no doubt you will enjoy those songs...a lot...
Those were the days, big hair and MTV👍📺
Fun reaction! Always love when you react to the offial/studio version :)
Your reaction is the same as ours was back when this was released . And yes. We all fell in love with Tawny. Beautiful long legged red head

They had some great songs.
I just spit my coffee out all over my screen at 5:40 omfg that was so perfect!
Hello Biss! What an EPIC song. You've probably seen in other comments the woman in this video is Tawny Kitaen. The thing she is most remembered for is being in the "Holy Trinity" of Whitesnake videos. You've already seen 2 of them. Now all that is left is the biggest hit of them all, and the most remembered video - 'Here I go again'. A super-duper-duper mega hit. In an era where almost all videos featured hot nameles women (ah, the good ol' days) these trio of videos made Tawny Kitaen a household name, THE superstar woman of music videos. Millions of young men were in lust with her.
So please Biss, react to 'Here I go Again' soon, and PLEASE PLEASE react to the official video. You'll never think of car hoods in the same way again. 😏 And Tawny Kitaen, RIP Beautiful.
When This Song/ Video , Was Released, (Circa 1987), It, Set The Standard/ Zenith, In Some, Key Ways,That Many Of The Hair-band, Music Bretheryn,As It, LATER On Became Commonly Known, HAD BEEN EVOLVING , SINCE THE EARLY '81- '82, Mtv Era, Had Started!! Hello Bisscute. Wow, wow, wow, one more discovery thanks to you, but what seems incredible to me is that even though it is a band that has been founded for more than 40 years, I didn't know anything about it. I loved Whitesnake and I loved Still of the Night. I will continue listening to them without a doubt. I hope you can react to Deep Purple with the song Smoke On The Water (Live from Montreux 2007). Greetings and a hug from Mexico City.
The part is called the bow, that he's using to play the guitar with.
Cool cool times heck yeah

WHITE SNAKE: JUDGEMENT DAY LIVE!! WITH Warren demartini ON GUITAR. STRAIGHT ⛽!!!!
The 1980s version of Led Zeppelin's Black Dog, with a big dash of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love thrown in. The violin bow on the guitar is also a Led Zeppelin thing from guitarist Jimmy Page.
5:26 _The legs, guys. It's always the legs._ ... because the legs lead us to The Promised Land.
I love this song and i love you)))🥰🤟👍
Check out Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin,Jimmy page used a violin bow on his guitar back in 1969
🤩👏👏👏
I saw Whitesnake twice in the late 80's. The girl, Tawny Kitaen...David Coverdale married her for a couple of years. She has passed now...
Whitesnake was my very first concert- and it was this album...awesome memories.
Madalina this is one of the hottest songs ever. I was actually listening to it yesterday on satellite radio (Hair Nation) and I was thinking everything you just said.
The violin bow played on the guitar was classic part of this song. John Sykes was the guitarist for Whitesnake for a short time. That violin bow on the guitar was taken from Led Zep's Jimmy Page Whole Lotta Love song. Another smoking hot song.
Tawny Kitaen the model in this video was once married to the lead singer David Coverdale. She was also smoking hot. Unfortunately she passed away about 3 years ago. I saw a documentary of this band recently, and she was interviewed and looked horrible. She actually passed away before the documentary was released.
Keep up the great work Madalina. Always enjoy your reactions.
There are a completely endless amount of good songs in this genre... by 100's of different 80's bands.
One more with Whitesnake is "Fool For Your Loving".. or "Here I Go Again"..
You should also hear their "Slow an' Easy" song if you haven't already!great vid!loved yr reaction,Still of the night is maybe my favourite of them
Some of the very best rock riffs, breakdowns, time changes, build ups. Just such a great iconic tune! I'm not particularly surprised you loved it. You have good taste!
