    Thanks for the help. I used a brass coupler glued to the hose with E6000 adhesive. Covered with marine grade shrink tubing. Holding up great.

    Mine lasted one season. The internal plastic tube broke inside the male end and the hose fell down with the male end still connected to a deck pipe. Not repairable with your method, but I appreciate your video and had never heard of marine grade shrink tubing so that was worth learning about. My suggestion to people is do not buy this product. Probably too late for anyone who watches this video though😂.

    Best - Best - BEST - metal hose repair video I found, and I looked at way too many. Thank you! You covered everything but were very succinct. Much appreciated1

    BEST repair idea I've seen, yet. I fix a lot of things with shrink tubing. This seems like just the ticket. Other methods I've tried and others I've seen tried don't last and some look crummy, too. This is a good-looking repair and the outer shrink tubing is a lot better-looking and durable than tape. Thanks for a great fix!!

    Thanks for the heads up about using marine grade shrink tubing. I was able to fix 2 hoses using a modified version of what you did!

    This was very helpful. The screw collar on my Bionic Steel Hose just started leaking bad after a yr of use. I’m so annoyed since they were expensive. TY

    I used a brass coupleer fitting, instead of the clear plastic. Forcing the fitting, into the clear hose piece was the hardest bit. Second hardest was to make sure you have your " marine grade" heat shrink tubing on the hose. Then I made sure to run a bit of sand paper over my coupled pieces. Glue sticks better to rough then smooth.
    Use a hair dryer or heat gun, rather than a turbo torch. The turbo torch gets the connection "too hot" and screws up the soft plastic inner hose.

    If the inner hose has a leak, but no problems with the stainless steel portion how do you get to the leak?

      its always the inner hose that leaks , it is where the water flows and the metal just supports the pressure . if it is one of the earlier hoses made it would be easier and cheaper to toss it . the only good stainless hoses now that i have found are the one called BIONIC HOSE and only buy it if it has brass fittings on both ends . those so far have lasted me 2 years without a leak , i have 6 of them , i do pressure washing and some jobs are extremely long fences so i need that much hose

    Our leak on the stainless steel hose is connected at the house will the shrink tubing work on that leak?

    • @mikejones-qz1wk
      @mikejones-qz1wk  2 года назад

      are you saying the leak is at the connection to water source ? If so a lot of hoses have a twist on them that you can tighten with water off that will fix it .

    If you don't have a heat gun is there another way to shrink it? Hair dryer?

    Where do you buy shrink tubing

    • @mikejones-qz1wk
      @mikejones-qz1wk  2 года назад

      I got a variety pack on ebay but amazon sells it also . I bought the ones listed as marine grade because it shrinks with heat and also has a glue released with heat

      yeah but what are the two sizes you used on video? no point in buying extra size that don’t fit..
