- Three officials briefed on the matter say U.S. intelligence learned of an Iranian plot to kill former President Donald Trump, separate from the assassination attempt over the weekend in Pennsylvania. There has been growing scrutiny of the Secret Service after the shooting. NBC News' Stephanie Gosk reports.

I was cleaning my upstairs windows a couple weeks ago standing on my 2/12 standing seam metal roof of my front porch in a puddle of soapy water in flip flops and didn’t come close to slipping or feared of slipping at all. You can’t add security as you please, and you have to put a request for more security. Those requests were made and they were denied multiple times. So if anyone is to blame, it would be the ones who denied such requests.

That building was the CSer operations building and it had law enforcement inside of it according to news sources. There's no reason for Crooks to successfully have access to that roof. Why wasn't there another agent on that roof guarding that perimeter, why did they have two CSers on the same building and not spread out to protect more of the vicinity around the perimeter of the stage?

The mother’s language seemed very role traditional in referring to her husband and his views. She seemed to refer to his dominant judgment which is typical in a conservative Christian couple their age in that area. The father let his son borrow the AR weapon with the idea he was going to the “shooting range”. Probably he had done this before but this time when his son didn’t return the father called the police. He must have had some concern about his son if he was willing to call the police so quickly once he realized he had taken the gun and was missing.
