Today I am chemically removing all the paint and rust off another 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 prior to its complete restoration. I’m going to take you through the process we use to completely chemically strip cars down to bare metal. This is a more thorough alternative to sand/media blasting with no chances of metal warping on thin panels. This process shows you exactly what you are working with and gives you a blank canvis to work with!
It is a 3 step process
Step 1) alkaline degreaser and paint remover
Step 2) Food grade Rust removing acid
Step 3) Water based rust inhibitor
The total process takes around 6 weeks because we use environmentally safe chemicals.

This is way better than the Super Bowl ❤
Thank you! ❤
Actually it’s a good game, the Taylor Swift Chiefs are losing badly!!!!!
But I’d rather watch a car getting dipped than the Superbowl!!!
100%
@@DonMace-m6mthank god, sick of seeing them lol
Trev, I watch all your video's. I think this one, in terms of how you put it together is one of your best.
Full credit to this Camaro owner for resurrecting another classic car. I hope it all turns out nice.
Just remember for all these classics, nobody ever built these cars to last 50 plus years !!!!!
It's hard to believe that 2025 back to 1970 is the same as 1970 to 1915. I am shocked that 1970 is 55 years ago. Great job with revealing what time does to a car! I hope this cars restoration ends up better than new!
I was born in 1950. Imagine how I see it.
Sorry to be repeating myself, but this is ALWAYS SO SATISFYING. So happy to see someone loving on another beauty.
Looked like it was originally a lime green, cleaned up better than I expected on the pitted areas.great work, great video as always.just keep on doing your thing.be safe 👍👍👍😎😎😎
I had a 1971 Maroon RS Camaro in 1987 back in high school.
The car was in mint condition.
I miss that car.
1970-71 Camaros were the best looking. That post makes me think of the red 1970 Challenger R/T S/E 440 that I drove to prom in 1983. The hot car is gone, but the hot date is now my hot lovely bride. Still miss the car, though…
Have you ever put a car in the tank and only the ropes holding it came out ? LOL !
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice job 😮 metal looks great 😮 clean and so fresh 😊
Thats really nice. Usually rusted worse nice to see the underside of the car results!
As thin as they a pillar was you still rigged it up to the roof your mighty brave my friend
Original color, very rare Citrus Green! WOW!...
Brazing we did that back in the 80's they definitely have some work to do!
Thanks for the videos you do. I really like it.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and your support! I’ll keep them coming for you!
Hi Trevor. As a longtime subscriber I just wanna say: great job, great vid and every vid is a real pleasure to watch. Congrats and greetings !! Keep on rocking, bro 😊
Hello Trevo & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Trevo & Friends Randy
Wow Trev great job😍
Really good job, all rust out, to restauration is very important, waiting a New vídeo.
Came out a lot better than I thought when first seen. Do you have any requests to strip frames, if so how do they come out?
Cant tell ya how much Your job makes me Happy ! - Very Freakin Cool
Overall its in fair condition. I was surprised to see little collision damage. A genuine 1970 Z28 is a rare car hopefully owner still has the original engine 😊
Thank You for the video!
Originally Citrus Green. Red oxide primer underneath, I wondered if they still used it as late as 1970. This answers it!
Unusual car color - never seen this at shows
Now THIS is entertainment!
Welcome back From Vermont
This is way better than Taylor swift concert😎
Or a Trump rally!🤮
Nice Job!!!!!
I have been told the passenger side of any car rusts first as that is the kerb side because that is where most of the impurities are concentrated. That ix where the puddles, road salt, grit and mud spray up on the underside. Acidic, abrasive, corrosive stuff. Over the years it chips through and destroys paint and metal. So I overtake as many cars as I can as the centre of the road is free of a lot of impurities.
This chemical works well! No nasty damage hiding under there, solid rocker boxes.
Awesome 😎
Most importantly, the car still exists and will continue to do so.
I was surprised by how nice the floor panel is and the minimal filler! I live in PA and if this cars from here it was taken care of, floors never look that good!!
Heat or not it seems that the bath did work pretty well without using heat ! So truthfully just dip it and save $$$
It may take some work but worth it to have a true 70 Z28
How often are your tanks emptied for cleaning and solution concentration adjustments?
So many variables when it comes to how long they last. Acid typically lasts around a year. Alkaline a little longer because we can spike it.
Someone really has a love affair with a 70 Camaro.
some major metal replacement in those A pillar areas, the sill and that quarter area. hope comes good very interested what required after roof pitting is removed to get back full strength.
Great video .... what's the other Camaro , a '68 ?
Do you ever have cars so rusty they just fall apart in the tank?
I have restored a bunch of 2nd Gen Camaros/Firebirds and I have never seen rust like on the front of the passenger side rear quarter
I've got a '73....you want a piece of that!!?? 😁
Great job stripping the 70 Z28. I think the owner has a tough call to make that's a lot of metal work. Any guesses on cost.
How often do you have to change the dipping solutions?
I was just wondering how you get all the air out from under the roof of the car?
Air siphons. Rig up a little hose that bleeds the air out as I lower the car in the tank. Some people drill a little hole in the roof before they bring us the car.
No entiendo el idioma pero mucho de carrocerías y mucho entiendo.un casco sacado de la basura.
I thought it looked kinda gooey when it came out of the alkaline bath.
It was probably a Michigan car!!
Can you estimate how much the body weighs?
Well shake yer money maker, Trevor
🤣
I spent 30 years restoring cars, that is a nightmare
Pretty sure that one would be better off going to the salvage yard.
Even if you lose the beard and put on makeup, you will not be my stripper today.
I've been wondering. What happened to Roger Rabbit?
Omg. I can’t believe someone wants to use this body😂
Is the construction companies insurance going to pay for your lost revenue due to knocking out your heat?
