That is an interesting idea. We don't usually think of a musical instrument, however well played, as a weapon. Perhaps you could elaborate on that?
@@ts13579_texas_usaMan, I don’t know if I dare. I’m pretty much a “hack”, but I am a poet and an amateur trumpet player (we have that Jericho thing😉)and a trial lawyer/judge.
First, I’d refer you to his legendary (it seems) Ysaye encore. I think that exemplifies it. He seems to me to be totally committed to making the instrument do his will. He seems utterly committed to pressing his vision on the audience. His view is strong. Yet it is not contrived. Think of the Samurai who unconsciously responds to threat with his sword, which he sees as his “soul”.😳 This is the impression which led me to the comment. I hope the maestro would find it complimentary. I don’t know if he (or you) would find it valid.??🤔🥴

I am so glad you dared, because you did a great job explaining that. Really. Very few people (if any!) could have done better. Yes, Maxim V. definitely plays his fiddle with an uncommon intensity. And he smashes his target every time with bulls-eye accuracy.

From the minute Maxim played the first line, i was so blown away and had the chills. His music conveys a whole lot of real rich depth.
Each era has famous artist. In this century He is the one.
I finally saw this. His articulations bring such life to the interpretation. No one has such richness.

a great violinist must of course have intonation and precision. they must also be capable of the most tender expression as well as ballsy and if necessary aggresive. vengerov has all of that.

А Давид Ойстраха, более академично? Конечно великих сравнивать нельзя - разное время, эпохи. Выдающаяся русская скрипичная школа 20 века - сколько скрипачей мирового уровня!!! Венгеров переиграл наверное все великие и виртуозные произведения для скрипки?! Нет слов, для восхищения его талантом!

Heifetz interpretation is by far and always will be THE TOP TIER interpretation in my eyes! I love everyone else's as well, but Jasha Heifetz is my favorite!
This kind of performance is why Maxim is one of my favorite violinists of all time. 🙂
