Your collection is goals! You have so many longer series completed! Wow! I am going to watch this and get recs for more Yuri for sure! Now I don’t feel bad for waiting to finish a series to read it.
Sometimes I feel bad that I have so many unread books and series, but then I remember that it’s my collection and I can do whatever I want with it lol. I need to read more of the yuri in my collection so I can give good recommendations. The Kase-san series and Bloom Into You are two I definitely recommend though.
Great collection. I too love having a big backlog so I'll never run out of manga to read! To help me decide what to read next I use a TBR jar, its super useful
I’ve read a couple dozen manga at this point and Land of the Lustrous is my favorite manga. I’ve caught up to the chapter releases online and it’s just so good. The themes, plot, character development, symbolism, art, etc is all just out of this world. Vol 11 comes out in Nov. they pushed it a year for some reason. You’re just getting to where the manga takes off! Keep going!!
@@tonireadsmanga well there are places to read the chapters if you were wanting to get up to date. They just went on hiatus at chapter 96, but when they come back the conclusion will soon follow. I’d highly encourage you read the chapters online because yea, the volume releases aren’t consistent.
About Ascendance of a Bookworm - the entire series consists of five parts and those parts get longer as the series goes on. Part one (Daughter of a Soldier) is indeed three volumes long, part two (Apprentice Shrine Maiden) is four volumes, part three is five volumes etc. I do think traditional numbering would've been less confusing since you're meant to read it in order! I've been keeping up with digital releases and really like it, but it's definitely a slow burn. If you have an appreciation for intricate and detail-oriented world building and storytelling, it might be your jam. Just know that it's going to be a long haul - current estimate is that the series will be a little over 30 volumes long, not counting any supplementary material. In any case, this is a really impressive collection! I haven't bought manga in years to save money (plus our library has been a godsend when it comes to the manga selection), but the LGBT+ shelf in particular has some really interesting looking series I'd like to own!
Your awesome collection is fire🔥🔥👏👏👏 I'm the same way. I don't read a series until the publication is complete. I never thought to use my closet as a storage for books/manga. Now I have to move into a bigger place to store my books, with a much bigger closet 😊😊 Love your content. You've given me so many series I want to collect.
I want to read Toriko & Slam Dunk. I use to bag my manga as well. I love the art style for Hikaru No Go from what I've seen. I really enjoy the anime for Silver Spoon. The hardcovers for FMA are so nice. Demon Slayer is a favorite of mine. The anime for Mob Pyscho 100 is fantastic and the animation is top notch. Haikyu is my favorite sports series. Noragami is hilarious and the art work is great for it. That's an epic One Piece shrine. I also saw One Piece Stampede in the theater, and its now my favorite anime movie. You have a really nice collection!
For shelves, I use a variety. Some billy shelves from Ikea, and some other ones I got from Target for $35 each. I also have some crappy walmart shelves but I wouldn’t recommend those personally. If you have the space, I would suggest getting a tall bookshelf and not a shorter bookshelf that will need to be replaced soon, depending on how much manga you’re buying. Plus I think the tall ones look better. For collecting, my number one piece of advice is to not be afraid to get rid of series you don’t like. I don’t really do too much research before buying manga, so I inevitably have books that I didn’t enjoy. If I kept all of those, I would probably have closer to 2000 volumes, but I wouldn’t have space for the series I actually like. If you have any other questions, just let me know. I’d be happy to answer them. Happy collecting!
I used to think it protected from potential yellowing from sunlight but now I’m not so sure. It does protect the volumes from dust though. Also, because I would bag multiple volumes together, it would make it easier to move the volumes around and kept the corners/covers protected a bit more.
@@tonireadsmanga Ahh okay. It definitely isn't for everyone. Inio Asano reread it himself not too long ago and said, "Now I understand why some people don't like this". If you look into how Asano felt while creating the series it makes more sense as well.
I think in the case of Descending stories aka Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, it's better to watch the anime first...as it focuses on rakugo storytelling, which is better expressed in a speech and movement. Not to mention, the anime is a true masterpiece and my favourite anime that came out in 2010s and one of my all time faves.
