HGGdragon what does RGB stock cooler means? sorry I'm still a noob at this stuff... currently saving for pc parts and only have a gtx 1070... like does a cooler come with the cpu when you buy it? and if yes which ine does compete with i7 7700k? because thats what i was willing to buy but now Im not sure to get it or a ryzen cpu (dunno which one too)

RGB means that it has LEDs on it that you can probably program to display whatever colour you like them to display. Stock cooler means the cooler that comes with the CPU when you buy it (most of the time it's not really a good cooler and msot people buy a cooler to put on their CPU, especially when they plan to overclock it.
AMD made history on this day. Now it's our turn to support them.

Fair enough. I've never used an AMD CPU, but I moved to AMD GPU away from Nvidia after having 3 Nvidia cards melt on me. At the end of the day they are just corporations - I may re-evaluate Nvidia again in the future, just depends who has the better product; I may try AMD CPU next time.

It's actually surprising to see that time passed quickly since the ryzen launch and it's great to have seen AMD come this far. All I can do is thank them for bringing competition to the market and hope that this fight will last many more years for now as competition is always good for the consumer.

All of that is exaggerated. Intel still holds data center in lockdown. It will take AMD years to gain meaningful market share, and by that time Intel will almost certainly have an answer. Apple was going to go its own way anyway. If AMD was doing so well, why didn't Apple start to use AMD CPU's instead of their own?

All these graphs just showcase how tiny company AMD is compared to INTO and the other ones on the chart as well. AMD should be at best 25% the value of INTO currently, and even that is a stretch. Right now AMD is 50% the value of INTO while making 46x less money and having 10x lower revenues.

I have used Intel for the past 5 years now and I am so happy right now. They have charged outrageous amounts for years because of their monopoly and now they are about to look really stupid to their customers. They can either leave their CPU's at the same price and look stupid for charging outrageous amounts, or they can drop the prices of all their high end CPU's by a drastic margin and have thousands of customers pissed off for charging them nearly double when they bought theirs at the time. It is truly a wonderful thing that AMD is doing and I just really hope they do this all right and don't mess anything up.

Agreed. I don't think Intel got complacent and is not really worried about Ryzen. All these years without much competition in the market meant that they could get by with minimal IPC improvement but that doesn't mean they aren't sitting on great ideas for times just like these. I'd expect major spec bump in the next Core generation or just a more competitive pricing. They have made enough profit to go on a price war without taking much of a hit :)
But to AMD's credit, this a great move and I'll be definitely upgrading my video machine once it's out.

Well, I guess that would be wise, but it sounds promising so far, especially considering the price.
If you want to build a gaming PC, I would say wait for Ryzen 5 to get benchmarks, final specs and so on. Those should be the best options for gaming, as 6-core and 8-core processors are not meant for playing, but are better fit for video editing and 3D creation tools (Ryzen 7 compares more to the i7 X800 and X900 lines than X700 and under, as those are CPUs made for gaming and have less and more efficient cores, but at a higher performance). I could see high-end CPUs to follow and get rid of integrated graphics in the near future.

Why would it be goodbye Intel? They literally dominated the market for 5 years, 5 FUCKING YEARS. Most people who buy high end computer parts already own i7s, they are not gonna throw it away so they can buy the same performance for half the price.
Also Intel has now 2 options. Lower the prices as they most likely will.
And secondly, release something even better, it literally took AMD 5 years to catch up, all that time that will allow Intel to go higher.
except amd hasnt been developing ryzen for 5 years. second amd was also in a bad situation in which they were locked into a contract to have those old shitty cpus produced. next amd has had turn around issues with ceo's and budget issues. saying they took 5 years to release something that can compete is a half truth.
second intel hasnt really released anything of any substantial performance upgrades in years. its incremental and mostly geared towards efficiency. in terms of actual raw power their cpus hav had maybe a 3-10 percent increase per generation at best.
I'm not saying goodbye intel yet because I'm pretty sure Intel will have 2 more releases before I upgrade from my 4690k

THIS IS AMAZING! I have a 2600k soon to be upgrading, I was going to wait for cannonlake but this looks like it takes the cake. I want to support AMD to help keep a healthy CPU market. I think my next system will be this for a few years :)

New cpu comparable with old cpu's wow such revenge lol, can't even go price/performance on all as the 7700k is cheaper and better than there 1700 which is same price bracket.
the 7700k is still a quad core CPU. Yes, it has a higher Clockspeed. It will probably outperform in every single game but for applications that need more cores, the 1700 would do as good as the 77k or possibly even better from what I understood. If you want a CPU for gaming only, get the 77k but you could probably go witha 1700x or a 1700 too.

well you would need a new motherboard + ryzen motherboards and cpu isn't out yet so, you would of had to wait like a month or more to get ryzen parts.
