    In this situation, can the child / teenager bypass the password using his icloud password, or his iphone password (given that it is his iphone)?

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  3 месяца назад

      No, and you can lock the iPhone passcode from being changed as well

    Thank you Stephen, great clear instructions. However I have found that, even if downtime is set from 9pm, if my son has two hours limit on instagram for example, he can use the 2 hours at 4am if he wants. Downtime doesn't stop the apps you have allowed limited access to. Is there any way around this?

    I am having the hardest time setting this up. I only want my kid to be on his phone for two hours from 5pm-7pm. How would I set up downtime? Or do I do by the app limit? Thanks.

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  Год назад

      It's a little weird to get in that small a chunk, but I would set "Starts at 7pm Sunday - 5pm Monday" and make sure you set "Block at Downtime" as toggled "on"

    So I have set my kids iPad for scheduled downtime from 8pm-8am. I have the option of turning on downtime until schedule. But when I do it gives the iPad the 5 minute warning as soon as I turn that on. I just want it to be blocked from 8pm-8am. I have no app limits because they don’t really need it. Plus they’re in school most of the day. Do I not “turn on downtime until schedule”?

      Are they part of your iCloud family, and is there a screen time passcode set they aren’t aware of? If so, go to their screen time settings > communication limits > during screen time / down time set as contacts only

    Question - if I go thu the setup and block the Settings app in Screentime on my kid's phone, and I need to go in and update the iOS or individual apps, and I need to turn Screentime off in order to do that, when I go back in to Screentime, do I have to start from scratch and re-setup all the restrictions EVERY time that happens OR does it save the settings and when I turn it back on it just goes back to the settings that were setup intially?
    Thanks - great video!

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  Год назад

      Hi Zackary! I don’t believe you can remove or totally restrict the settings app itself. But if you set a strict limit (even 1 minute) and the Settings app becomes unavailable, you can approve an hour or all day usage just for that day and perform the updates needed without affecting any of the other settings.

    • @zackaryhaddon5445
      @zackaryhaddon5445 Год назад

      @@beardfm You're right thru Screentime - you cold with the old "restrictions" subsetting under Settings... I miss how granular it was using that vs. Screentime... I think Apple could do better, honestly.

    Hi, Cannot able to download Netflix app on my son ipad mini its says “due to restrictions set for this device, this app cannot be downloaded” maybe I did something wrong. Please help

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  Год назад

      You may have to set the app restriction age to 17+ in order to download and open. If you have ask to buy enabled they will have to request any new apps so you can still monitor what’s being downloaded.

    This was really helpful but it isn't working on my son's computer, I have "only allowed websites" and he can still get into youtube and other things, then I put app limits on those for 1 minute and that works for his computer but it still lets him do it on his phone. I have been to the apple store many times, and called them many times and no one can help me figure it out. I am hoping you can? It is impossible to manage when he has to do his homeowork on the computer and also talk to friends to do group projects. Thank you in advance.

    Hi, thx for the tutorial. My child's screen time was working fine and it popped up "Send request" or "Enter passcode" when time was due. However, the screen time doesn't work recently. When the time is due, it doesn't have the "Send request" or "Enter passcode" anymore but "Ok" or "Ignore it". So my kid can just easily press "Ignore it" and then "For the whole day". Am I missing something for the settings?

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  3 года назад

      Hey Kevin, is the Screen Time passcode still enabled in their settings? You may need to check on the physical device Settings > Screen Time > "Use Screen Time Passcode" if it's not enabled.
