This looks beautiful we are planning to visit blue ridge for thanksgiving. Do you think there might still have some fall colors left? Also we have a toddler 1.5 yrs with us. Was it cold. Would love to know so I can pack appropriately since we live in hot Florida

Thanksgiving might be late to see fall colors in blue ridge but it also depends on the weather conditions this year. I hope you get to see the fall color. Weather wise, it was very cold in the morning when we were there but the train has the closed and open compartment that you can choose from. We chose the closed one and it wasn't that cold inside. During the day, it was warm...

Hi Joey, we went on Nov 6. I would recommend you to go earlier than this date, maybe 2-3 weeks earlier. The leaves were starting to fall when we went. So go little early and you will be able to catch better views.

It was pretty cold in the morning when we started but then it eventually got warm when we reached Coppertown. Decent free parking is available next to the train station but i would suggest you to go early to ensure parking. Yes, you go to depot, fill out a small form, show your online ticket confirmation and they print you a ticket. It was a good fall view, river, and nice houses and I recommend you take the right side of the seat to have better view. All the shops and restaurants (great variety) were open when we went there. We did closed coach to avoid catching cold. I must say premier looked more fun but be prepared for the cold. Enjoy your time!
