- I've seen the normal version of the song extended, but not the extended cut version which is featured on the special edition soundtrack. So I extended it.

When i think this boss and describe the context, music is fitting:
An ego maniac who stole this dude's girlfriend proceeds to burn down the entire forest and chase him down with a giant mech as he desperstely tries to flee
I think this was done to set the tone for the rest of the game

a track for a boss that lasts for less than a minute has no need to have such an amazing theme

It's the other way around. Eater of Worlds is probably inspired by a mix of Larry and Pin, if we're going to assume BoI/SMB was the inspiration
Eh, I think Megalovania and this are fairly equal. Megalovania has a good pace to it and a nice tone that spells out the player's doomed battle. This is less doomed battle, and more "running away from something".

For anyone wondering why the themes for Super Meat Boy was changed:
Danny didn't wanna pay for the rights to the music for the console ports of Super Meat Boy in 2015 (apparently he has to do it for every port), so they got Ridiculon to make the new songs (and Scattle). The themes are arguably a downgrade (especially the Lil Slugger theme change), but they are a decent alternative.
Also, the ingame boss fight lasts for a little over 30 seconds, idk why Danny made a song that hits this hard for a easy, short boss, but I appreciate him for making this banger of a song.

I thought this sounded off, and I looked to verify it wasn't a terrible screwed up contract:
When you make music for someone's game, they pay you for it typically. If you own the rights to the music, they have to approach you to license it every time.
Danny owns his soundtrack, and was approached by Team Meat, who he stopped working with for vague reasons, and they wanted to pay him to use the soundtrack. However, it seems that they lowballed him, and he didn't feel it was worth it.

Came here from a roblox game called 'The battle bricks' which uses this song as the theme for the final boss in chapter 1 although it doesnt play the full theme,just looped in a certain part near the beggining of the theme,which is understandable since copyright exists

I can easily listen to this song for 30 minutes straight. One of the few songs i can never get tired of. Amazing considering it was a song from an indie game that came out almost 8 years ago.
